DYNAMIC ANALYSIS AND RECONFIGURATION OF CONCURRENT DATA TRANSFER MEANS
Systems and methods for analyzing available networks and transferring data via a two-way radio transmission are described herein. An example method may commence with collecting, by a data collection device, asset data. The method may continue with preprocessing, by the data collection device, the asset data for transmission. The method may further include dynamically analyzing, by the data collection device, networks available for transmission of the asset data determining a mode for the transmission of the asset data. The method may further include transmitting, by at least one of the data collection device and a two-way radio device communicatively coupled to the data collection device, the asset data to a data server. The asset data may be transmitted based on the mode for the transmission via at least one communication channel and at least one intermediate device.
Distributed-demodulation satellite communication system

DOUBLE REFLECTOR ANTENNA FOR MINIATURIZED SATELLITES
Double reflector electromagnetic systems implementable in miniaturized satellites and other applications for compact, light weight, and broadband antennas. The disclosed methods and devices include primary and secondary reflectors, where the secondary reflector is held in the aperture plane of the primary reflector to minimize required space. A specific Cassegrain configuration is also described.
DISTRIBUTED-DEMODULATION SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A telecommunications satellite payload includes a signal receiver (ANT) for receiving signals transmitted on an uplink, an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) for converting the received signals into digital samples, a modem (MOD), an inter-satellite communication device (ISL) and a traffic management unit (GT) configured, on the basis of resource planning information (PL), so as to transmit the digital samples either to the modem (MOD) in order to be demodulated or to the inter-satellite communication device (ISL) in order to be transmitted to a recipient satellite responsible for demodulating the digital samples.
Satellite system architecture for coverage areas of disparate demand
Disclosed is a satellite communication system that allocates bandwidth to maximize the capacity of the communication system while providing service to geographical areas having different demands. A smaller portion of the frequency spectrum can be allocated for subscriber beams that supply service to low demand areas. A larger portion of the frequency spectrum can be provided to subscriber beams that provide access to high demand areas. Allocation of bandwidth can be determined by the amount of demand in low demand areas versus the amount of demand in high demand areas. High demand gateways are physically located in low demand subscriber beams, while low demand gateways are physically located in high demand subscriber beams, which prevents interference.
Systems and applications of lighter-than-air (LTA) platforms
Innovative new systems and method of operating the systems, wherein the system comprises an airborne platform comprising an unmanned balloon comprising a gas enclosure; a geographic locator or tracking system configured to determine geographical coordinates of the unmanned balloon; a payload comprising a transceiver, wherein the transceiver is capable of communicating with communication devices that are separate from the unmanned balloon; first and second flight-termination devices each configured to cause termination of a flight of the unmanned balloon; and at least two power sources each configured to provide power to at least one of the first and second flight-termination devices.
SATELLITE TOMOGRAPHY OF RAIN AND MOTION VIA SYNTHETIC APERTURE
The system and method represents a high-resolution, three-dimensional, multi-static precipitation RADAR approach that employs agile microsatellites, in formation and remotely coupled, via a new high-precision, ultra-low power, remote timing synchronization technology. This system and method uses multi-static RADAR interferometric methods implemented via a microsatellite formation to synthesize an effectively large (e.g., 15 m) aperture to provide about 1 km horizontal resolution and about 125 m vertical resolution in the Ku-band.
