FLEXIBLE BACKREST FOR A FOLDING CHAIR, AND FOLDING CHAIR COMPRISING THIS BACKREST
A flexible backrest for a folding chair includes a flexible backrest panel which can assume a curved configuration of use and an extended storage configuration. The flexible backrest panel has a support surface having a concave shape in a cross-section in a horizontal plane, and a convex shape in a cross-section in a vertical plane; and the flexible backrest panel has a plurality of vertical through-slits forming a plurality of vertical slats.
Chair Having A Leaf Spring With A Working Length That Shortens To Increase Resistance To Tilting Of A Backrest Relative To A Column
A chair, comprising, a backrest, a seat coupled with the backrest, a column coupled with the seat, a linkage statically attached to the backrest and rotatably attached below the seat, a leaf spring statically attached at one end and in direct contact with the linkage to provide a resistance to tilting of the backrest relative to the column, a first structure fixed to the column. A portion of the first structure has an arc shape that includes one or more teeth, and a second structure in contact with the first structure. The chair is configured such that, when a weight is applied to the seat, one or more teeth of the second structure move along the one or more teeth of the first structure to shorten a working length of the leaf spring and provide an increased resistance to tilting of the backrest relative to the column.
Load support structure
A body support structure includes a frame and a membrane attached to the frame. The membrane includes elastomeric filaments. The membrane includes different regions with different stiffness. The membrane may form a part of a seat or a backrest.

A body support structure includes a frame and a membrane attached to the frame. The membrane includes elastomeric filaments. The membrane includes different regions with different stiffness. The membrane may form a part of a seat or a backrest.
Chairs including flexible frames
A chair includes a support spine. A seat assembly is coupled to the support spine, and the seat assembly includes a flexible frame being movable relative to the support spine. The flexible frame comprises a first frame element, a second frame element coupled to the first frame element at a first corner, and a third frame element coupled to the second frame element at a second corner. The first corner and the second corner are substantially independently movable relative to the support spine. A conformable panel is coupled to the flexible frame and configured to engage an occupant of the chair. A resistance assembly couples the support spine to the flexible frame. The resistance assembly bears against the flexible frame to facilitate substantially independent movement of the first corner and the second corner relative to the support spine.
Conforming back for a seating unit
According to the present invention a back for a seating unit is provided. The back comprises a plurality of flexible finger elements. Each of the plurality of flexible finger elements has a distal end. The back further comprises a retainer connecting at least two of the flexible finger elements proximate their distal ends. When a load is applied to a flexible finger element, the retainer distributes at least a portion of the load to at least one adjacent flexible finger element.
SEATING ARRANGEMENT
A seating arrangement includes an upwardly-extending back arrangement movable between upright and reclined positions, and a seat arrangement that includes a first link member extending horizontally and having forward and rearward portions, a second link member spaced from the first link member, a third link member coupled to the first and second link members and substantially flexible along a majority of a length thereof, and a fourth link member operably coupled to the first and second link members, the fourth link member being substantially rigid along a majority of a length thereof, wherein the link members cooperate to form a four-bar linkage assembly, and wherein the seat arrangement moves in a rearward direction as the back arrangement is moved between the upright position and the reclined position.
Furniture member having flexible seatback
A furniture member may include a stationary frame assembly and a seat bottom assembly. The stationary frame assembly may include a stationary base frame and a stationary seatback frame that is fixed relative to the base frame. The seat bottom assembly may be supported by the base frame and movable relative to the base frame and the seatback frame between a first position and a second position. The seatback frame is disposed vertically higher than the base frame and the seat bottom assembly.
POSTURE ADAPTIVE WORK CHAIR
The present application relates to a chair which adapts to dynamic body postures of a user. The posture adaptive work chair includes a seat sub-assembly having a front edge and a seat base sub-assembly; a pair of spine members cantilevered from the font edge of the seat sub-assembly; a back sub-assembly supported by the pair of spine members, and configured to flex in multiple axes based on a direction of load applied by a user; and a tilt limit lever movably coupled to the seat base sub-assembly and configured to enable tilting of the back-sub assembly to a plurality of tilt positions.
CHAIR
The present invention relates to a chair which includes a subframe, a seat element, a back element, a spring mechanism and an adjustment device, wherein the spring mechanism includes a leaf spring which is clamped on one side in the subframe and a support which is movable on a track between the leaf spring and the subframe and wherein the adjustment device includes an adjustment member and a transmission mechanism. In this connection, a movement of the adjustment member is translated into a movement of the support at a transmission ratio of between 1:0.5 and 1:4.
