Devices, methods, and systems for uplink synchronization in time division multiple access (TDMA) satellite network
Devices, methods, and systems for uplink synchronization in time division multiple access (TDMA) satellite network. In one embodiment, an earth-based satellite terminal is configured to communicate with a satellite hub through a satellite using the TDMA communication protocol. The earth-based satellite terminal is configured to determine its own location, a location of the satellite, estimate a distance between the location of the terminal and the location of the satellite, determine a Coarse Timing Advance based on the distance that is estimated, and transmit data to the satellite based on the Coarse Timing Advance and the TDMA communication protocol. The Coarse Timing Advance may allow uplink TDMA communication without a preamble transmission on a random access channel, the preamble transmission being required in many conventional systems.
Method and apparatus for calculating beamforming based paging occasion in wireless communication system
According to the present invention, a user equipment (UE) calculates its paging occasion based on a specific beam to monitor paging. In detail, the UE selects at least one beam among multiple beams, calculates a paging occasion consisting of the at least one beam, and monitors a paging in the paging occasion. When the paging occasion consists of the multiple beams including the at least one beam, the paging may be monitored in a part of the paging occasion where the at least one beam is transmitted. Alternatively, when the paging occasion only consists of the at least one beam, the paging may be monitored in all of the paging occasion where the at least one beam is transmitted.
Remote slowing or stopping a progress of a drone towards a target
Systems, and method and computer readable media that store instructions for slowing or stopping a progress, towards a target, of a drone controlled by a remote control unit.
Precision microwave frequency synthesizer and receiver with delay balanced drift canceling loop
An example frequency converter includes a drift canceling loop with a balanced delay and a linear signal path (e.g., linear with respect to frequency scaling, amplitude modulation, and/or phase modulation). One side of the drift canceling loop includes a fixed delay, and the opposite side includes an adjustable, complementary delay. The adjustable, complementary delay facilitates precision matching of the signal delays on each side of the loop over a range of frequencies, which results in a significant improvement in noise cancelation, particularly at large offsets to the carrier, while permitting the use of a higher noise, but very fast tuning course scale oscillator. The linear signal path from the signal generator to an RF output facilitates modulation of the signal by the signal generator. A modular format is an advantageous embodiment of the invention that includes the removal of the frequency synthesizer's low phase noise reference into a separate module.
Beam switching user data outage reduction in a spot beam satellite system
A system and method for beam switching by a User Terminal (UT). The method includes initiating a beam switch between an old beam and a new beam when the UT is disposed in an overlap area of the old beam and the new beam; duplicating over the new beam, at a Network Access Point (NAP), user traffic to the UT; and assigning a Time Division Multiplex Access (TDMA) allocation for the UT on the new beam, prior to an arrival of the UT on the new beam, where the user traffic traversing a satellite network remains uninterrupted during the beam switch and the NAP redirects user traffic for the UT via the old beam to the new beam.
Control channel configuration
A wireless device may receive at least one radio resource control (RRC) message comprising a field indicating a starting symbol for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH). The wireless device may receive an ePDCCH signal. The ePDCCH may start from the starting symbol plus an offset value.
Device and method for inserting quadruplet and device and method for extracting quadruplet
The invention relates to inserting reference signals in a radio signal to be transmitted over a wireless communication system, the radio signal being emitted according to a specific SS-STBC scheme, the method comprising, inserting the reference signals to transmit them in the radio signal such as samples of these reference signals are in specific positions in the SS-STBC symbol.
Systems and methods for carrier aggregation
A UE for performing carrier aggregation is described. The UE determines a duplex method of each serving cell for carrier aggregation. A primary cell is a FDD cell. When transmitting PDSCH HARQ-ACK information on a PUSCH or using a PUCCH format 3 in a later subframe, the UE generates two NACKs for a PDSCH transmission in an earlier subframe for a serving cell when a configured downlink transmission mode supports up to two transport blocks, the serving cell is a TDD cell and an earlier subframe is an uplink subframe for the serving cell. The UE further generates a single NACK for a PDSCH transmission in an earlier subframe for a serving cell when a configured downlink transmission mode supports a single transport block, the serving cell is a TDD cell and an earlier subframe is an uplink subframe for the serving cell.
Half-duplex communications for a very small aperture terminal (VSAT) operating on a continuous stream
A method and apparatus for providing half-duplex communications for a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) operating on a continuous received stream is disclosed. The method includes: decoding the continuous received stream to establish synchronization with the continuous received stream; locating, in the continuous received stream, a time plan including a receiving timeslot and a transmitting timeslot; demodulating the continuous received stream by adapting to a timing and frequency variation of the continuous received stream in the receiving timeslot, freewheeling the adapting of the continuous received stream during the transmitting timeslot, and resuming the adapting of the continuous received stream when the transmitting timeslot ends; stopping a receiving of the continuous received stream during the transmitting timeslot; and transmitting from the VSAT during the transmitting timeslot. The freewheeling includes saving a signal acquisition parameter at the start of the transmitting timeslot and restoring the saved signal acquisition parameter at the end of the transmitting timeslot.
