METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REQUESTING TRANSMISSION OF SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNALS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for requesting a synchronization signal in a wireless communication system is provided. A machine type communication user equipment (MTC UE) transmits a random access preamble for requesting the synchronization signal to a network, receives the synchronization signal from the network, and performs synchronization by using the received synchronization signal.

ENHANCED LOCATION SYSTEM USING WIRELESS TRANSMISSION BEACONS WITH VARYING POWER
Communicating transmission power information that specifies a transmission power used by a reference point for use in estimating a position of a mobile device. Systems and methods measure an amount of power present in a signal received from the reference point, receive an identifier of the reference point and transmission power information that specifies the transmission power used by the reference point, transmit the identifier of the reference point to a location server, and also transmit the transmission power information or an estimate of a distance separating the mobile device and the reference point to the location server.

DATA TRANSMISSION FRAMING
Techniques for framing data in various data transmission contexts are described. A data framing technique may include a transmitter sending a data stream including repeating bits in alternating forward and reverse order. A receiver of the data stream may fold the data stream, and correlate portions of the folded data stream for purposes of validating the data stream and/or identifying an ID in the data stream. In at least some instances, once the receiver validates the data stream, the receiver may accept payload accompanying the data stream.
Advanced network characterization and migration
In some embodiments, a method includes scanning for wireless networks, where scanning includes collecting network information indicating properties of the wireless networks. The method can include analyzing the network information to determine signal data indicating signal qualities for the wireless networks. The method can include characterizing, based on the signal data, one or more wireless networks as being suitable for connection by the mobile device, where the characterizing includes determining, based on the signal data, movement of the mobile relative to one or more access points of the wireless networks. The method can include determining that one or more signals of the wireless networks are above a dwell threshold level for reliable wireless connectivity. The method can include determining that one or more signals has been dropped, and connecting to the mobile device to one of the one or more wireless networks that are suitable for connection.
Event trigger for independent links
Various aspects of the disclosure relate to event triggers for independent links. For example, an event trigger may be based on measurements from multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, an event trigger may be based on aggregated measurements from multiple links.

Data migration method and apparatus
A data migration method is disclosed. The method includes: performing, by a source base station, a TCP proxy for user equipment; learning, by the source base station, that the user equipment is to be handed over to a target base station; sending, by the source base station to the target base station, context information including a sequence number of a data packet, and the sequence number of the data packet is a largest sequence number of data packets that have been acknowledged by the user equipment or a smallest sequence number of data packets that have not been acknowledged by the user equipment; and migrating, by the source base station by using the SCTP, the data packets that have not been acknowledged by the user equipment to the target base station.
Method and apparatus for transmitting channel quality control information in wireless access system
A method and apparatus for transmitting or receiving channel quality control information through a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) in a wireless access system that supports hybrid automatic retransmit request (HARQ). In one embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal including an initial uplink grant, transmits uplink data using two transport blocks based on the initial uplink grant, receives a negative acknowledgement (NACK) information for one of the two transport blocks, and transmits a channel quality control information along with the one of the two transport blocks which is retransmitted according to the NACK information or a new transport block through the PUSCH to which the HARQ is applied. A number of coded symbols required to transmit the channel quality control information (Q′) is calculated based on the initial uplink grant.
