An example method includes receiving, from a high bitrate communication device, a first request to communicate via a high bitrate communication protocol; responding to the first request from the high bitrate communication device by establishing a high bitrate communication session; sending, after the high bitrate communication session is established, a second request to the high bitrate communication device to communicate via a low bitrate communication protocol; receiving, from the high bitrate communication device, a response associated with the second request; and establishing a low bitrate communication session using the low bitrate communication protocol.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a wireless communication method, a terminal device, and a network device. The method is applied to a CA scenario, and there are at least one primary cell and at least one secondary cell for serving a terminal device. The method comprises: determining, by the terminal device, whether there is a candidate beam that satisfies a first condition among at least one candidate beam when a beam failure occurs in a first secondary cell, wherein the first condition is that at least one of RSRP, RSRQ, and SINR of a signal is greater than a first threshold, and the first secondary cell belongs to the at least one secondary cell; and determining, by the terminal device, whether to perform beam failure recovery for the first secondary cell according to a determination result.

The method includes: when it is detected that an electronic device activates the eMBB service, acquiring a new radio (NR) reference signal receiving power (RSRP) and an uplink transmission bandwidth threshold; determining the service identifier of the eMBB service according to the NR RSPR and the uplink transmission bandwidth threshold; and displaying the service identifier of the eMBB. METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING ENHANCED REFERENCE SIGNAL RECEIVED POWER ESTIMATION
A method and an apparatus for providing reference signal received power (RSRP) are disclosed herein. A signal is received in a modem. Signal elements at reference signal (RS) locations are extracted from the received signal. The signal elements at the RS locations are descrambled. Virtual reference signal (VRS) elements are formed using the descrambled signal elements. The VRS elements have smaller noise variances than original RS elements in corresponding locations of the received signal. The RSRP is estimated from the VRS elements.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING ENHANCED REFERENCE SIGNAL RECEIVED POWER ESTIMATION
A method and an apparatus for providing reference signal received power (RSRP) are disclosed herein. A signal is received in a modem. Signal elements at reference signal (RS) locations are extracted from the received signal. The signal elements at the RS locations are descrambled. Virtual reference signal (VRS) elements are formed using the descrambled signal elements. The VRS elements have smaller noise variances than original RS elements in corresponding locations of the received signal. The RSRP is estimated from the VRS elements.
Systems and methods for establishing short-range communication links between asset tracking devices
A method for managing radio communications between a gateway and a plurality of sensors of a system for tracking assets is disclosed. The method includes: obtaining properties of a currently tracked asset; determining a current connection configuration for radio connections between the gateway and the plurality of sensors; identifying a preferred connection configuration for radio connections between the gateway and the plurality of sensors based on the properties of the currently tracked asset, the preferred connection configuration having at least one physical layer characteristic that is different from the current connection configuration; and in response to the identifying, causing the gateway and at least one of the plurality of sensors to switch from the current connection configuration to the preferred connection configuration for establishing a new radio connection.

A method for managing radio communications between a gateway and a plurality of sensors of a system for tracking assets is disclosed. System and method for triggering split bearer activation in 5G new radio environments
Systems and methods manage split bearer selection in a multi-RAT dual connectivity environment. A first wireless station receives, from a first device, a first signal measurement for the first wireless station and a second signal measurement for a second wireless station. The first wireless station determines that the second signal measurement indicates that a split bearer for the first device can be supported by the second wireless station and identifies, based on the first signal measurement, a distance category for the first device relative to the first wireless station. The first wireless station determines, based on the second signal measurement, whether the second wireless station supports a sustainable split bearer and initiates a split bearer for the first device using the second wireless station, in response to determining that the second wireless station supports the sustainable split bearer.
System and method for triggering split bearer activation in 5G new radio environments
Systems and methods manage split bearer selection in a multi-RAT dual connectivity environment. A first wireless station receives, from a first device, a first signal measurement for the first wireless station and a second signal measurement for a second wireless station. The first wireless station determines that the second signal measurement indicates that a split bearer for the first device can be supported by the second wireless station and identifies, based on the first signal measurement, a distance category for the first device relative to the first wireless station. The first wireless station determines, based on the second signal measurement, whether the second wireless station supports a sustainable split bearer and initiates a split bearer for the first device using the second wireless station, in response to determining that the second wireless station supports the sustainable split bearer.
