5G New Radio Beam Refinement Procedure
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods to implement mechanisms for a UE to request a beam quality measurement procedure. A user equipment device may be configured to perform a method including performing transmitting a request to perform a beam quality measurement procedure for downlink receptions (e.g., a P3 procedure) to a base station/network entity, receiving instructions to perform the beam quality measurement procedure from the base station, and transmitting results of the beam quality measurement procedure to the base station. In some embodiments, transmission of the request may be response to at least one trigger condition and/or detection of a condition at the UE. The request may include an indication of a preferred timing offset. The instructions to perform the beam quality measurement procedure may include a schedule for the beam quality measurement.

DETECTION OF DEPLOYED TIME-DOMAIN DUPLEXED REPEATERS
Example aspects include a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for detecting a repeater on a propagation path at a transmitting device of a wireless communication network, comprising receiving a repeater detection configuration indicating a detection threshold and at least one transmit power level. The aspects further include transmitting a first signal at a first power level. Additionally, the aspects include receiving first measurement results of the first signal. Additionally, the aspects include transmitting a second signal at a second power level. The second power level being different than the first power level. Additionally, the aspects include receiving second measurement results of the second signal. Additionally, the aspects include detecting an active repeater on the propagation path in response to a difference between the first measurement results and the second measurement results satisfying the detection threshold.
DETERMINISTIC POWER AND RATE CONTROL
Indicating to a receiver node in a network that the receiver node should begin tracking signal to noise ratio (SNR) of a received signal for a new power and rate (PAR) interval for data sent from a transmitter node. A method includes determining that a new PAR interval is beginning. The method further includes adding an identifier to a data block. The identifier corresponds to the new PAR interval. The method further includes sending the data block from the transmitter node to the receiver node, where the receiver node will use the identifier to determine that a new tracking interval of SNR should be performed for the data block and subsequent data blocks having the identifier.

TECHNIQUES FOR REQUESTING MESSAGE REPETITION IN RANDOM ACCESS PROCEDURES
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for requesting message repetition in random access procedures. In some aspects, a first random access message can be generated for a physical random access channel (PRACH) procedure. The first random access message can include a request for repetition of a third random access message. The request can be based on a criterion that is associated with at least one of a maximum allowed transmit power, or a PRACH transmit power. The first random access message can be output for transmission to a node to initiate a random access procedure with the node. In some aspects, one or more parameters related to a threshold for determining whether to include the request can be configured by the node.

Method and apparatus for providing enhanced reference signal received power estimation
A method and an apparatus for providing reference signal received power (RSRP) are disclosed herein. A signal is received in a modem. Signal elements at reference signal (RS) locations are extracted from the received signal. The signal elements at the RS locations are descrambled. Virtual reference signal (VRS) elements are formed using the descrambled signal elements. The VRS elements have smaller noise variances than original RS elements in corresponding locations of the received signal. The RSRP is estimated from the VRS elements.
