COHERENT TRANSMISSION VIA MULTIPLE ANTENNAS

In satellite communication systems, the cost of a terminal often corresponds to a maximum data rate that the terminal is required to transmit towards a satellite. The higher the data rate, the higher the Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) the terminal may be required to radiate. The EIRP of the terminal is directly proportionate to the transmission power and to the effective area of the antenna. Using coherent transmission combining may facilitate a similar EIRP while reducing the cost of the terminal through using smaller antennas and lower radiated power. Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer readable media are described herein for facilitating coherent combining of transmissions.

RELAY SELECTION AND RESELECTION BASED ON DISCOVERY MESSAGE TRANSMISSION RESOURCES
20230336962 · 2023-10-19 ·

A remote user equipment (UE) device receives a sidelink (SL) discovery message from each of a plurality of candidate relay UE devices where each SL discovery message is transmitted using a discovery resource of a discovery resource pool of a plurality of discovery resource pools. Each discovery resource pool is allocated to a range of Reference Signals Received Power (RSRP) levels. Each relay UE device measures an RSRP level of a link to a destination and transmits the SL discovery message using a discovery resource from the discovery pool associated with the RSRP range containing the measured RSRP level. The remote UE device selects (or reselects) a relay UE device from the candidates based, at least partially, on the RSRP ranges of the links from the candidate relay devices to the destination.

DETERMINING A POSITION OF AN ENTITY OF A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20230319772 · 2023-10-05 ·

A position of a first entity of a wireless communication network is determined on the basis of one or more measurements between the first entity and a second entity. For one of the measurements, a reference signal is transmitted between the first and the second entities. The first and the second entities use respective antenna patterns for transmitting or receiving the reference signal. The position of the first entity is determined using antenna pattern information about the antenna pattern used by the first entity and/or antenna pattern information about the antenna pattern used by the second entity.

TECHNIQUES FOR ENHANCING PAGE SHARING USING A CHANNEL QUALITY-BASED MERGE CONDITION FOR DUAL-SUBSCRIPTION DEVICES

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE), such as a dual-subscription UE, support a first subscription and a second subscription. The first subscription may be in an active mode with a first cell and the second subscription may be in an idle mode with a second cell, and the UE may determine whether to exit or postpone entrance into a merged state in which the UE may perform idle mode measurements for the second subscription using the first subscription and the first cell based on a channel quality-based merge condition. For example, the UE may measure a channel quality associated with a communication link between the UE and the first cell and, in examples in which the measured channel quality fails to satisfy a threshold channel quality, the UE may exit or postpone entrance into the merged state.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify that one or more thresholds are satisfied. The UE may estimate, based at least in part on the one or more thresholds being satisfied, for each beam at one or more beam levels on one or more antenna panels, an application layer throughput, wherein the one or more beam levels are each associated with a number of antenna elements. The UE may generate a set of candidate beams that includes one or more beams for which the respective estimated application layer throughput satisfies an application layer throughput requirement. The UE may select a serving beam for which the estimated application layer throughput satisfies the application layer throughput requirement with a fewest number of antenna elements. Numerous other aspects are described.
