Passive Seat Ventilation System
A seat including an exterior seat surface. The exterior seat surface is movable inward and outward relative to an interior of the seat. A flexible material overlays the exterior seat surface. The flexible material is lockable to restrict movement of the flexible material towards the exterior seat surface. Movement of the exterior seat surface into the seat defines a gap between the exterior seat surface and the flexible material to permit air to circulate between the exterior seat surface and the flexible material to cool an occupant of the seat.
Pocketed spring assembly
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to an adjacent string. Each string comprises a plurality of pockets formed along a length of the string by transverse seams joining first and second plies of fabric on opposed sides of springs. At least one spring is positioned in each pocket. Each spring has two end portions and a middle portion. The convolutions of the middle portion are greater in diameter and pitch than the convolutions of the end portions. Each interior transverse seam is cut or otherwise treated to create at least one divide enabling at least one end portion of the spring to compress without substantially compressing the middle portion of the spring.
Pocketed spring assembly comprising strings of springs of different heights and enhanced ventilation
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs of different heights. Each string is joined to an adjacent string. Each string has first and second opposed plies of fabric and a plurality of pockets formed along a length of the string by transverse seams joining the plies. An upper end of each transverse seam is below the upper surface of the string so as to partially separate adjacent pockets within a string of springs when the spring is relaxed. The strings of springs have ventilation openings to increase airflow.
Thermal comfort wheelchair backrest
A backrest for a wheelchair or other mobility device configured to provide user controllable cooling and heat to the wheelchair user's back. The cooling element includes a Peltier chip, heat sink and gel pad for user contact. The heating element includes heating wire interposed between the fabric cover and the compressible foam of the backrest cushioning. The cooling element and heating element both move with the movement of the fabric cover so as to provide good heat conduction contact without adversely affecting cushioning. The backrest includes a tillable mount.
Water chair with attachments
Some embodiments of the present disclosure include a multi-purpose water chair for partially submerging a user in a body of water. The water chair may include a frame formed of tubing, the frame configured to engage with a wall in the body of water; a seat supported by the frame; a backrest supported by the frame; at least one cylindrical foam pad encircling portions of the frame, such that the water chair can be used as a flotation device and the user is not completely submerged in the body of water; an umbrella attached to the frame of the chair, the umbrella configured to extend upwards from the frame to shade a user; a mister attached to the frame, the mister having a spray nozzle and a tubing extending from the spray nozzle to the body of water; and a floatable and rotatable tray attached to the frame.
Seat partition
There is provided a seat partition capable of reducing deterioration of comfort with respect to rear seats. One aspect of the present disclosure is a seat partition that includes a plate-shaped panel configured to be mounted to a seat having a headrest. The panel includes: a main portion configured to cover at least a part of the headrest from a rear thereof; a side portion configured to cover at least a part of the headrest from a side thereof; a curved portion coupling the main portion and the side portion; and at least one ridge portion extending from the main portion through the curved portion to the side portion and projecting outward of the panel.
APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING BALANCE AND STABILITY WHILE STANDING
A balance and stability system for use by an individual who is required to maintain a standing position for a prolonged period includes a balance reference and support pad positioned to contact the individual at their shins while standing at a work station, which balance and support pad is mounted on a support structure including an elongate support arm such that the pad is at the proper vertical and horizontal location to provide a balance point of contact with the individual's shins and, yet, a completely open space is provided between the pad and the floor to thereby allow for free movement of the individual's feet forward, backward, and side-to-side.
FEEDBACK DEVICE AND THERMAL FEEDBACK PROVIDING METHOD USING SAME
The present invention relates to a feedback device and a method of providing thermal feedback using the same. A method for calibration of an intensity of a thermal feedback of a feedback device may comprise: outputting the thermal feedback in order from a weak intensity to a strong intensity among a plurality of intensities of the thermal feedback; obtaining a first user input; setting an intensity of the thermal feedback outputted at the time of the obtaining the first user input to a lowest intensity of the thermal feedback; obtaining a second user input; setting an intensity of the thermal feedback outputted at the time of the obtaining the second user input to a highest intensity of the thermal feedback; setting at least one intermediate intensity; and outputting the thermal feedback by using the lowest intensity, the highest intensity and the at least one intermediate intensity.
VEHICLE SEAT
A vehicle seat includes a pad main body configuring part of seat cushion pad, a slide pad that configures another part of the seat cushion pad and that approaches or moves away from the pad main body by sliding in a seat front-rear direction, and a flow path that is formed at an opposite side of the pad main body to a seating surface thereof, and an air moving machine that moves air inside the flow path. The flow path reaches as far as an opposing face of the pad main body that opposes the slide pad, and a main body groove portion that is in communication with the flow path and that reaches as far as the seating surface is formed in the opposing face. The main body groove portion is formed narrower at a location on the seating surface side than at a location on the flow path side.
SEAT STRUCTURE WITH ADJUSTABLE SENSE OF SITTING
A seat structure with an adjustable sense of sitting comprises a cover and a base plate, wherein an adjusting cavity is defined by the base plate and the cover; at least two soft inner layers different in hardness and breathability are arranged in the adjusting cavity, and the soft inner layers are at least two of a sponge cushion, a 3D mesh cushion and an air fiber cushion; and a cover body is provided with a zipper structure, which can be slidably unzipped to form an opening for adjusting the soft inner layers. The soft inner layers can be taken out via the opening, and users can place multiple soft inner layers in the adjusting cavity in different sequences as required to adjust the hardness and breathability of the seat structure to obtain suitable hardness and breathability so as to improve sitting comfort.
