Transmitting apparatus, transmitting method, receiving apparatus, and receiving method

The present technology relates to a transmitting apparatus, a transmitting method, a receiving apparatus, and a receiving method that facilitate tuning setting. A transmitting apparatus generates and transmits transmission data including an index in data of a physical layer, the index being associated with predetermined processing-related information in a relation table in which processing-related information related to setting processing of tuning on a receiving side is registered in association with an index representing a region to be subjected to the setting processing corresponding to the processing-related information and provided as being included in data of an upper layer higher than the physical layer. A receiving apparatus acquires the relation table, while receiving the transmission data, and acquires the index included in the data of the physical layer from the transmission data. Then, the receiving apparatus executes setting processing corresponding to the processing-related information associated with the index included in the data of the physical layer in the relation table. The present technology can be applied to, for example, setting of tuning, such as television broadcasting.

Zone signal targeting and analytics

Systems and methods for targeting advertisements to particular zones within a content distribution region are disclosed. One or more zone signals may be generated and distributed by combining media content with a respective advertisement corresponding to each of the zones within the distribution region. In some example cases, the media content may be received from a broadcaster. The systems and methods may further include the capability to determine zone based and/or advertisement based viewing metrics for one or more of the zones within the content distribution region by polling client devices within the one or more zones.

Methods and systems for geolocation-based media streaming

Systems and methods are provided for presenting media streams based on changes in geolocation. A MapView system may receive a first positioning signal indicating a first geographical location of a user device. The MapView system may determine a first media stream to be presented by the user device based on the first geographical location and a location of a source of the first media stream. The MapView system may then facilitate a presentation of the first media stream by the user device. When the MapView system receives a second positioning signal indicating a second geographical location of the user device, the MapView may identify, a second media stream to be presented by the user device based on the second geographical location being in broadcast range of the second media stream. The MapView system may then facilitate a presentation of the second media stream by the user device.

Transmission method, transmission device, reception method, and reception device

A transmission method for transmitting an emergency warning signal, pertaining to one aspect of the present disclosure, includes: generating control information, the control information including a flag indicating either presence or absence of information related to a region and, when the flag indicates presence, information related to the region; acquiring information related to emergency warning content; and generating the emergency warning signal including the control information and the information related to the emergency warning content. Thus, emergency warning (early warning) information can be transmitted with greater precision.

RECEPTION APPARATUS, RECEPTION METHOD, TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, AND TRANSMISSION METHOD

The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method that enable provision of an emergency warning service more suited to actual operation.

Provided is a reception apparatus that includes a reception section and a demodulation section. The reception section receives a physical layer frame transported as a broadcast signal. The demodulation section demodulates physical layer signalling acquired from the physical layer frame and monitors whether or not emergency warning information has been transported on a basis of emergency warning notice information acquired as a result of the demodulation. In a case where the emergency warning notice information indicates that the emergency warning information has been transported, the reception apparatus starts up automatically. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a transport system for transporting a physical layer frame compliant with a DVB-T2 standard.
