Identification of changed broadcast media items
Small changes in a broadcast version of a base media item can be identified by performing a multi-level comparison of digital fingerprints. A fingerprint of a base media item is compared to a fingerprint of a media broadcast to determine whether a media item embedded in a broadcast is likely, to a first level of certainty, to be the base media item. A second, more stringent, match between the fingerprint of the base media item and loosely matched items can be used to identify potentially-altered versions of the base media item. Potentially-altered versions can be compared against each other, and resulting matches are flagged as altered base media items, which can be fingerprinted and tested against broadcast fingerprints in the same manner as the base media item.
Dynamic Content Packaging
To be accessed on different media players, requested content must be delivered in a format that is supported by the requesting device. A dynamic content packager for encrypting and packaging requested content for different requesting devices at the time of consumption is disclosed.
AUDIENCE MIGRATION INFORMATION
A server machine obtains media content information and event records, which include session data. The session data including consumer identifiers identifying consumers, and content provider identifiers identifying media stations. The server uses the event records and the media content information to generate tune-away events when first session data includes a first content provider identifier, but subsequent session data includes a second content provider identifier different from the first content provider identifier. The server aggregates tune-away events for a specific program across multiple different media outlets to determine a total number of tune away events for that program during a specified time period. The total number of tune-away events can be transmitted to an end user machine, which can display a graphical representation.
Control plane architecture for multicast cache-fill
A multicast content delivery system can use both multicast and unicast streams to efficiently use available bandwidth to deliver content. Available multicast content can be identified to gateways serving consumption devices, and the gateways can receive requests for unicast content deliver, but honor the requests with multicast group sessions.
Audience migration information
Event records can include session data representing a particular consumer and a particular standard period of time, and can include station identification information indicating a media station to which the consumer was tuned during standard period of time. Records can be designated as overlapping event records if multiple event records represent the same consumer and the same period of time, but identify different media stations, and at least some overlapping event records can be eliminated from consideration before determining audience migration information. Audience migration information, including tune-ins and tune-outs, can be determined based on whether or not a consumer has multiple event records showing different media stations at adjacent times. The audience migration information can then be transmitted to an end-user machine for display.

TV program identification method, apparatus, terminal, server and system
A method for retrieving and playing a TV program uses a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal captures one or more images of a TV program currently played on a TV using the image sensor and sends the images to a remote server. The remote server extracts a TV station identifier from the received images, compares the received images with images stored in an image library and corresponding to the TV station identifier, and determines an identity of the TV program when there is a match, generates an information record for the TV program, and returns the TV program information record to the mobile terminal, the TV program information record including a hyperlink to the TV program. After receiving the TV program information record from the remote server, the mobile terminal displays the hyperlink on the display of the mobile terminal.
