Passive Optical Network Architecture, Method for Passive Optical Network Architecture to Implement Data Transmission, and Optical Network Device
A PON architecture, a method for realizing data transmission with the PON architecture and an optical network device are provided. The PON architecture includes an optical line terminal (OLT) supporting multiple channels, and one or more optical network units (ONUs) supporting one or more channels under a same optical distribution network (ODN). The OLT/ONU is configured to acquire the number of channels and/or corresponding channels supported for transmitting data and transmittable states of the supported channels, distribute the data to be transmitted to one or more supported channels for transmitting, the data is preferentially transmitted on a channel with an earliest transmittable start time point, and transmission end time points of channels for transmitting the data are similar or data transmissions end at a transmittable end time point. The ONU/OLT is configured to receive data on channels supported by ONU/OLT itself and reassemble the data accordingly based on transmission rules.
Method of identifying long-shining rogue ONU in passive optical network
The invention discloses a method, in an OLT in a passive optical network, of identifying a long-shining rogue ONU, the method comprising the steps of: A. allocating a specific radio frequency signal at a different frequency to each of ONUs in the passive optical network; and B. when the long-shining rogue ONU is detected in the passive optical network: b1. broadcasting a control message to each of the ONUs; b2. receiving uplink signals in the uplink; b3. recovering the specific radio frequency signals transmitted by the normal ONUs from the uplink signals; and b4. identifying an absent specific radio frequency signal according to the recovered specific radio frequency signals, wherein the ONU corresponding to the absent specific radio frequency signal is the long-shining rogue ONU. The invention further discloses an OLT device performing the method and a method, in an ONU, of assisting the OLT in identifying a long-shining rogue ONU.

Embodiments of the present invention provide an optical network unit (ONU) registration method, an apparatus, and a system. The ONU registration method includes: scanning, by an ONU port, a downstream wavelength channel, where the ONU port is one of a plurality of ONU ports on an ONU; receiving, by the ONU port, a discovery grant message from an optical line terminal (OLT), where the discovery grant message includes a channel identifier of a downstream wavelength channel on which the discovery grant message is being transmitted; sending, by the ONU port, a register request message to the OLT, where the register request message includes a port number of the ONU port; and receiving, by the ONU port, a register message from the OLT, where the register message includes the port number of the ONU port and an ONU logical identifier allocated by the OLT to the ONU port.

This application discloses a bandwidth allocation method, an optical line terminal (OLT), an optical network unit (ONU), and a system, where the method includes receiving a bandwidth request from each ONU, where the ONU includes an ONU1, generating a bandwidth map (BWMap) message according to bandwidth requested by the ONU and bandwidth configured by the ONU, where the BWMap message includes a first allocation identifier (Alloc-ID1), a first time corresponding to the Alloc-ID1, a second allocation identifier (Alloc-1D2), and a second time corresponding to the Alloc-ID2, and both the Alloc-ID1 and the Alloc-ID2 are allocated to the ONU1 for use, and sending the BWMap message to each ONU. Therefore, a problem that a transmission delay does not satisfy a requirement when a passive optical network (PON) system is applied to mobile backhaul is resolved, a data transmission rate and data transmission efficiency are improved, and user satisfaction is improved.

A computerized system and method for managing a passive optical network (PON) is disclosed. The system includes a detection and analysis module adapted for receiving uploaded measurement data from an optical line terminal (OLT) and at least one optical network terminal (ONT), and at least one of technical tools data, service failure data, and outside plant data. The detection and analysis module is adapted for determining a source of failure or potential failure in the PON by correlating the uploaded measurement data and the at least one of technical tools data and service failure data with information stored in a memory medium for the OLT and each ONT.

Method for determining numbers of bits allocated to subcarriers and optical transmission system
A bit allocation method is used in an optical transmission system that transmits multicarrier signals of different wavelengths in wavelength division multiplexing. Frequency characteristics of subcarriers included in the multicarrier signals are different between the respective multicarrier signals. The method includes: measuring transmission characteristics of the subcarriers included in corresponding multicarrier signals at different subcarrier frequencies; and determining a number of bits to be allocated to each of the subcarriers included in each of the multicarrier signals based on the transmission characteristics measured at the different subcarrier frequencies.
