Sofa seat cushion core
An apparatus and method are provided for a sofa seat cushion comprising a cushion core including a multiplicity of pocketed springs enclosed within an upholstery foam envelope. The pocketed springs are positioned side by side in a spring layer arrangement and are independently operable. A memory foam layer positioned above the upholstery foam envelope comprises a material capable of molding to a person's body sitting on the sofa seat cushion and then quickly returning to an original shape once the person leaves the sofa seat cushion. The memory foam layer comprises a gel-infused visco-elastic memory foam with a polyethylene terephthalate layer positioned there above. Directly below the upholstery foam envelope is an upholstery-grade polyurethane foam layer with a polyethylene terephthalate layer positioned directly thereunder. An exterior upholstery surrounding the cushion core provides a plush seating surface.
Pocket Spring Unit
A pocket spring unit comprising a plurality of pocket springs each comprising a coil spring and a pocket. Each of the pockets comprise top portion and bottom portions. Each of the pockets are formed from a continuous top piece of fabric attached to a continuous bottom piece of fabric to form a bond having a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of each coil spring. The pocket spring unit further comprises an attachment layer comprising a top portion comprising an inner and outer surface. The pocket spring unit further comprises a plurality of first cushion elements engaged with the outer surface of the top portion of the attachment layer. The inner surface of the top portion of the attachment element is engaged with the top portion of the pockets of the pocket springs such that each of the first cushion elements act only upon one of the pocket springs.
POCKET SPRING CORE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A pocket spring core as well as a method for producing a pocket spring core for use in the manufacture of mattresses or furniture upholstery. The pocket spring core has a plurality of springs, a number of which lie in a row one behind the other in respective flexible pockets, forming a bank of springs, and a number of adjacent banks of spring, which together form a supporting surface, are interconnected. The springs of at least one region of the supporting surface have different springing characteristics from the springs of the neighboring regions. At least one part of the individual banks of springs consists of bank portions with differing spring characteristics, the pocketed springs of each bank portion are identical, at least some of the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are of different lengths and the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are interconnected.
Pocketed spring assembly including cushion pads
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to at least one adjacent string, each string comprising one piece of fabric folded into first and second opposed plies of fabric. Outer pockets are formed along each string by transverse seams joining the first and second plies. One pocketed spring and at least cushion pad is positioned in each outer pocket. The cushion pad may be individually pocketed. An upper end of each transverse seam may be below an upper surface of the string to partially separate adjacent outer pockets within a string.
Pocketed Spring Comfort Layer Having At Least One Foam Layer And Method Of Making Same
A pocketed spring comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has pockets characterized by the individual mini coil springs of the comfort layer being pocketed with between at least one cushion assembly and a sheet of polypropylene fabric. Each cushion assembly includes at least one foam layer. A segmented seam joins the cushion assembly and the sheet of polypropylene fabric around each of the mini coil springs of the pocketed spring comfort layer. The method of making the pocketed spring comfort layer includes compressing the mini coil springs and creating pockets with a welding horn and an anvil.
Dual sided innerspring mattress
A dual sided innerspring mattress including a first spring assembly having a first support surface formed by a first plurality of discrete zones with a first firmness profile to support an individual and a second spring assembly having a second support surface formed by a second plurality of discrete zones with a second firmness profile to support an individual of a greater height and body weight.
Pocketed spring comfort layer and method of making same
A comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has slow-acting pockets characterized by the individual mini coil springs of the comfort layer being pocketed with either semi-impermeable or impermeable fabric. Each weld seam joining opposed plies of fabric around each of the coil springs of the comfort layer may be segmented, allowing air to flow between the segments, thereby increasing the luxury feel of the comfort layer. The method of making the comfort layer includes compressing the mini coil springs and creating pockets with a welding horn and an anvil.
Furniture device with adjustable firmness via an elastic member with a compressible portion
A furniture device configured to receive the weight of a being, said furniture device comprising a holding arrangement (20, 120) and at least one section (30, 30,130) comprising a base (2, 102), a movable plate element (4, 104), a moving mechanism (6, 10) and at least one elastic device (12, 112). The plate element (4, 104) is configured to interact with the at least one elastic device and to be moved by the moving mechanism in respect to the base in order to adjust the firmness of the at least one elastic device. The elastic device comprises a pocket (14, 114) made of a flexible sheet material, and an elastic member (18, 118). The holding arrangement comprises a holding member (22, 122), which is fixed in relation to the base (2, 102) or the plate element (4, 104) and a connecting portion (24, 24,124) which is arranged at the elastic device (12, 112) and which connects the holding member to the elastic member. The elastic member (18, 118) exhibits a first portion (18a, 118a) arranged proximal to the free end of the elastic member, a second portion (18b, 118b) being arranged distal to the free end of the elastic member and an intermediate portion (18c, 118c) arranged between the first and second portions. The holding member (22, 122) is, via the connecting portion (24, 24,124), connected to the intermediate portion (18c, 118c) of the elastic member, such that, during movement of the plate element (4, 104) relative to the base (2, 102), the elastic member (18, 118) is compressed and relaxed only over the second portion (18b, 118b).
SPRING CORE
The present invention concerns a spring core (1, la, 12, 13, 17, 18) that may be used in e.g. bed mattresses, chairs or sofas. The spring core (1, 1a, 12, 13, 17, 18) comprises springs placed inside pocket (3). The pockets (3) are placed in a number of rows, which rows of pockets (3) are placed side by side. The spring core (1, 1a, 12, 13, 17, 18) is held in a compressed state by means of at least one cord (5). The at least one cord (5) is formed into braids (6) at opposite outer ends (7) of each row of pockets (3). Further, the at least one cord (4) forms a number of loops (8) on at least one side of each row of pockets (3). By pulling at one free end (10) of the at least one cord (5) the braids (6) and loops (8) are dissolved, allowing the spring core (1) to return to the non-compressed state.
