Pocketed spring assembly including cushion pads
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to at least one adjacent string, each string comprising one piece of fabric folded into first and second opposed plies of fabric. Outer pockets are formed along each string by transverse seams joining the first and second plies. One pocketed spring and at least cushion pad is positioned in each outer pocket. The cushion pad may be individually pocketed. An upper end of each transverse seam may be below an upper surface of the string to partially separate adjacent outer pockets within a string.
APPARATUS FOR CONVERTIBLE AND SELECTABLE MATTRESS FIRMNESS
Provided for is a mattress comprising a first layer comprising a first firm layer and a first soft layer, a second layer comprising a second firm layer and a second soft layer, where the second layer and the first layer are in horizontal adjacent contact. The mattress may further comprise a base layer comprising a base top layer and a base bottom layer, where the base layer and the first layer are in vertical adjacent contact, and where the base layer and the second layer are in vertical adjacent contact. The mattress may further comprise a cover comprising a cover top, a cover bottom, and a zipper, where the zipper may separate the cover top from the cover bottom, where a band may be disposed on an inside surface of the cover top, where the band may mask a gap between the first layer and the second layer.
Multiple zone mattress core element with multiple coil configurations
This disclosure addresses mattresses. The mattress includes a core made up of multiple zones. Each of the zones includes a plurality of core elements, the core elements being formed from at least one wire coil spring at least partially contained in a fabric pouch. The core elements are typically joined in linear chains. The zones vary in support firmness according to the selection of a user. The core elements include wire coil springs formed from wires of at least two different sizes, and of at least two different heights.
Firmness controlling apparatus for a bed or seating arrangement
A firmness controlling apparatus for use in a bed arrangement or a seating arrangement is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a rigid frame having two opposed sides, and at least one non-elastic flexible elongate element extending between the two opposed sides. Each end of the non-elastic flexible elongate element is directly or indirectly connected to one of the opposed sides, and at least one of the ends is indirectly connected via an elastic flexible elongate element. A plurality of elongate springs are provided and extend in a flat or curved plane, the ends of each elongate spring being attached to one of the at least one non-elastic flexible elongate elements at two separated connections. A retraction device is arranged to tighten and slack the non-elastic flexible elongate element(s) between the two separated connections, thereby adjusting the distance between the two separated connections of each non-elastic flexible elongate element, and thereby controlling the curvature and height of the elongate springs.
Method for manufacturing a cover layer of a fleece material for an innerspring unit and innerspring unit
A cover layer of a fleece material for an innerspring unit comprising a plurality of pocketed springs is manufactured by supplying at least two longitudinal fleece webs, which extend substantially parallel in a longitudinal direction and are spaced from one another, and repeatedly attaching a transverse fleece web, which extends between the longitudinal fleece webs in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, to the longitudinal fleece webs. The transverse fleece web segments are attached to the longitudinal fleece webs such that they form together with the longitudinal fleece webs a frame-like structure serving as the cover layer.
Pocket spring core and method for producing the same
A pocket spring core as well as a method for producing a pocket spring core for use in the manufacture of mattresses or furniture upholstery. The pocket spring core has a plurality of springs, a number of which lie in a row one behind the other in respective flexible pockets, forming a bank of springs, and a number of adjacent banks of spring, which together form a supporting surface, are interconnected. The springs of at least one region of the supporting surface have different springing characteristics from the springs of the neighboring regions. At least one part of the individual banks of springs consists of bank portions with differing spring characteristics, the pocketed springs of each bank portion are identical, at least some of the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are of different lengths and the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are interconnected.
Apparatus and method for deconstructing mattresses
A method and apparatus for deconstructing a mattress of the type having steel coil springs held within fabric pockets. The apparatus includes a frame and an opener mechanism mounted to the frame and operable for opening a plurality of fabric pockets at a first end thereof to create an opening in the first end of the fabric pockets and expose the steel coil springs contained therewithin. A gripper mechanism is provided for gripping the plurality of fabric pockets at a second end thereof, opposite the first end. An extractor mechanism is mounted to the frame for extracting the steel coil springs from the fabric pockets through the openings formed in the first end of the fabric pockets.
Bed
A bed includes a mattress set on which a user's body is placed, an adjustable bedframe to adjust a position or orientation of the mattress set for various sitting and sleeping positions, and a dryer to dry the mattress set. The dryer includes a fan, a filter, and a heater to discharge filtered hot air toward the dryer to reduce mildew and mites. A humidity sensing sheet may be provided to sense a humidity level at different regions or areas of the bed, and the dryer may be controlled to supply hot air to regions of the bed having a higher humidity level than a predetermined humidity level or humidity range.
Bedding or Seating Product Having Topper With At Least One Thermally Enhanced Foam Component
A three-layered topper for a bedding or seating product has a first piece of foam, a second piece of foam and a pocketed spring comfort layer therebetween. The pocketed spring comfort layer has individually pocketed mini coil springs. At least one of the foam pieces may be infused with metallic particles to improve thermal conductivity. Alternatively, at least one of the foam pieces may be infused with microencapsulated phase change materials to improve heat absorption. At least one of the foam pieces may have a coating to further improve thermal conductivity or heat absorption.
Methods and systems of spring modules for an adjustable sleeping system
Spring modules for an adjustable sleeping system. At least some of the example embodiments are spring modules comprising: a spring rail, and a plurality of adjustable spring assemblies spaced along the length of the spring rail. Each adjustable spring assembly may comprise: a motor with a stator coupled to the spring rail, a lead screw coupled to the rotor of the motor, and the lead screw extending above an upper surface of the spring rail, a spring plate coupled to the lead screw, and a main spring coupled to the spring plate. Thus, the weight or force carried by each adjustable spring assembly along the spring rail is separately adjustable by a bed controller.
