A method of allocating pilot bits in a wireless communication system using a multiple carrier modulation (MCM) is disclosed. The method includes allocating a plurality of precoded data symbols precoded by a precoding matrix module and a plurality of non-precoded pilot bits to a plurality of subcarriers, and transmitting the allocated precoded data symbols and the allocated non-precoded pilot bits.

Each information-modulated CI code chip equals a CI code chip multiplied by one of the plurality of data symbols. The modulator modulates each CI symbol value onto a different subcarrier frequency to produce a multicarrier signal.

Method of transmitting reference signal in wireless communication system

A method for transmitting a reference signal by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The UE generates an uplink reference signal in a subframe comprising first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in time domain and a plurality of subcarriers in frequency domain. The UE transmits the uplink reference signal to a base station in the third, fourth and fifth OFDM symbols. The transmitted uplink reference signal is hopped in the frequency domain, based on a cell specific hopping parameter.

Methods and systems for signal transmission in millimeter wave (mmW) range. A set of sequences is used to encode a data signal for one layer in a group of layers. Each sequence in the set of sequences has a length equal to the number of resources shared among the group of layers. At least a portion of the sequences have a low density of non-zero values, and the non-zero values are assigned to a subset of the shared resources. Each sequence assigns a non-zero value to at most one resource of the subset of shared resources, and all non-zero values assigned by all sequences have equal power amplitudes.
