Security system for using shared computational facilities
A method and system for performing computational jobs securely on a shared computing resource. Data files for the computational job are encrypted on a secure system and the encrypted data files are stored in a data store on the shared computing resource. A key distribution server is established using a secure enclave on a front end of the shared computing resource. Cryptographic keys and application binaries are transferred to the enclave of the shared computing resource using a session key. The computational job is run using an application launcher on compute nodes of an untrusted execution environment of the shared computing resource, the application launcher obtaining the application binaries and the cryptographic keys from the key distribution server.
Exporting remote cryptographic keys
Techniques for exporting remote cryptographic keys are provided. In one technique, a proxy server receives, from a secure enclave of a client device, a request for a cryptographic key. The request includes a key name for the cryptographic key. In response to receiving the request, the proxy server sends the request to a cryptographic device that stores the cryptographic key. The cryptographic device encrypts the cryptographic key based on an encryption key to generate a wrapped key. The proxy server receives the wrapped key from the cryptographic device and sends the wrapped key to the secure enclave of the client device.
METHOD OF QUERYING DATA, METHOD OF WRITING DATA, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
A method of querying data, a method of writing data, an electronic device, and a readable storage medium are provided, which relate to a field of a computer technology, in particular to a field of a blockchain technology. The method includes: receiving a query request for target data stored in a blockchain, decrypting the target data in the TEE using a decryption key corresponding to an encryption key, and returning the decrypted target data.
DISTRIBUTED TUNNELING FOR VPN
A novel method of providing virtual private access to a software defined data center (SDDC) is provided. The SDDC uses distributed VPN tunneling to allow external access to application services hosted in the SDDC. The SDDC includes host machines for providing computing and networking resources and a VPN gateway for providing external access to those resources. The host machines that host the VMs running the applications that VPN clients are interested in connecting performs the VPN encryption and decryption. The VPN gateway does not perform any encryption and decryption operations. The packet structure is such that the VPN gateway can read the IP address of the VM without decrypting the packet.
Secure installation of application keys
The present disclosure includes methods, devises and systems for preparing and installing one or more application keys owned by application owners in a remote device. The present disclosure further proposes methods, devices and systems for secure installation of subsequent application keys on a device utilising corresponding key derivation functions to associate an application with a respective policy and identifier using significantly low bandwidth for transfer of keys for execution of the respective application on the device.
Secrets as a service
Systems and methods for securing objects in a computing environment. Objects are encrypted using keys that are also encrypted after encrypting the objects. In order to access the objects, a master key that is unknown to the service storing the objects and/or managing the keys is used to decrypt the keys so that the objects can be decrypted with the decrypted key. Thus, a key is needed to access the key needed to access the object. The master key is typically maintained separately from all of the encrypted objects and corresponding encrypted keys.
User identity and trust models in decentralized and distributed systems
A method for sharing information has an assertion associated therewith such that the receiving communication device is able to verify the assertion without the sender revealing underlying data demonstrating the validity of the assertion. The assertion is derived from underlying data input to a pre-provisioned first algorithm. The assertion is encapsulated in a first data object by a PGE that controls an environment in which the first algorithm is executed. A first proof is generated that is configured to verify that the first algorithm used the underlying data to produce the assertion when provided to a PVE along with the first data object. The underlying data is excluded from the first proof and the first data object such that privacy of the underlying data is maintained. The information, the first proof and the first data object are sent to the receiving communication device from the sending communication device.
KEY BROKER FOR A NETWORK MONITORING DEVICE, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
A key broker monitors network traffic metadata and determines which decryption keys are required at one or more packet brokers in order to decrypt relevant traffic required by various network monitoring devices. The key broker retrieves the required keys from a secure keystore distributes them, as needed, to the network packet brokers, and dynamically updates the decryption keys stored in the network packet brokers in response to changes in network traffic.
SECURE INDUSTRIAL CONTROL SYSTEM
A secure industrial control system is disclosed herein. The industrial control system includes a plurality of industrial elements (e.g., modules, cables) which are provisioned during manufacture with their own unique security credentials. A key management entity of the secure industrial control system monitors and manages the security credentials of the industrial elements starting from the time they are manufactured up to and during their implementation within the industrial control system for promoting security of the industrial control system. An authentication process, based upon the security credentials, for authenticating the industrial elements being implemented in the industrial control system is performed for promoting security of the industrial control system. In one or more implementations, all industrial elements of the secure industrial control system are provisioned with the security credentials for providing security at multiple (e.g., all) levels of the system.
Methods and Systems for Restricting Data Access Based on Properties of At Least One of a Process and a Machine Executing the Process
A method of restricting data access based on properties of at least one of a process and a machine executing the process includes receiving, by an access control management system, from a first computing device, information associated with an encrypted data object. The method includes requesting, by the access control management system, from a verifier, verification that a second computing device executes a process in accordance with a process attribute identified in the information associated with the encrypted data object. The method includes sending, by the access control management system, to the second computing device, the received information associated with the encrypted data object, responsive to the verification of the process attribute.
