SESSION RECOVERY FROM DEDICATED BEARER FAILURE
Techniques and systems for recovering a communication session from a dedicated bearer failure are disclosed. For example, a P-CSCF node can determine that a dedicated bearer associated with a communication session has failed, and, in response, send a SIP message to a UE associated with the communication session, the SIP message causing the UE to refrain from sending SIP requests using a SIP INVITE method. The process may further include identifying a first network node associated with an identifier of the UE, the first network node comprising one of a PGW or a SMF, and sending an instruction to the first network node to dissociate the dedicated bearer from the communication session. This causes a new attach procedure to be performed by the UE to recover the session without session failure.
SIGNALING FOR EPHEMERIS INFORMATION
The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods for ephemeris signaling in wireless networks.
OPTIMIZATION APPARATUS, OPTIMIZATION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM IN WHICH OPTIMIZATION PROGRAM IS STORED
An optimization apparatus (100) includes a setting unit (110) that sets a predetermined non-linear objective function, a policy determination unit (120) that determines a policy to be executed in online optimization in a bandit problem, based on the non-linear objective function, a policy execution unit (130) that acquires a reward as an execution result of the determined policy, an update rate determination unit (140) that determines an update rate of the non-linear objective function by a multiplicative weight update method, based on the acquired reward and the non-linear objective function, and an update unit (150) that updates the non-linear objective function, based on the update rate.
Tracking QoS violated events
A method in a network node comprises: detecting a Quality of Service (QoS) Violated Event in respect of a particular QoS flow of a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session; and sending a corresponding QoS violated event report to any one or more of: a Session Management Function (SMF) of the network; a Policy Control Function (PCF) of the network; an Application Function (AF) of the network; and a third party service provider.
USING MULTIPLE CREDENTIALS FOR ACCESS AND TRAFFIC DIFFERENTIATION
The disclosure relates in some aspects to establishing connectivity with a network using a first set of credentials and determining whether additional connectivity needs to be established (e.g., using a second set of credentials) to communicate data. The disclosure relates in some aspects to the use of multiple credentials for access and service connectivity. For example, traffic generated by a device may be authorized based on a different set of credentials than the set of credentials used to access the network (e.g., to connect to an LTE network for a PDN connection). In this way, traffic belonging to a specific service or application can be charged and policed based on service specific needs. The disclosure thus relates in some aspects to the use of access credentials and service credentials. These different types of credentials can be used to enable traffic differentiation and policing based on the credentials in use.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DYNAMICALLY ALLOCATING OPERATOR SPECIFIC BILLING RULES FOR DATA EXCHANGE BY AN APPLICATION ON A USER EQUIPMENT
The present system relates to a server for providing data connectivity in a packet mode communication network. The server has a processor arranged to receive, via a first brokerage control unit, a charging rule request to allow one or more communication devices in the communication network to exchange with an application server data charged under operator specific billing. The server determines availability of the operator specific billing based on network parameters and the charging rule request, and updates the database of a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) entity in the communication network based on available operator specific billing and an identifier for the application server, for subsequent charging of data exchanged with the application server at said available operator specific billing.
SERVICE PROCESSING METHOD, PCRF, AND SERVICE PROCESSING SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a service processing method, a PCRF, and a system. The method performed by the PCRF includes: obtaining service information of a service, where the service information includes a service identity; obtaining, according to user information and the service information, information indicating that the service requires QoS guarantee, and service chain information; when determining, according to the service chain information, that a network resource occupied by the service may be changed, sending the service identity and the information indicating that the service requires the QoS guarantee to a value-added service processor; receiving target service information, returned by the value-added service processor, of the service corresponding to the service identity; generating a first control policy according to the target service information; and sending the first control policy to a PCEF, so that the PCEF reserves a first network resource according to the first control policy.
USER EQUIPMENT PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE
A User Equipment (UE) processing method and device is provided. The method includes that: a forwarding device receives an indication message for managing a UE sent by a controller; and the forwarding device manages the UE according to the received indication message.
Method and system for performing charging on network resource, and device
This application provides example methods, systems, and devices for performing charging on a network resource. One example method includes sending, by a network slice charging function device, a first message to a network slice management function device, where the first message includes an identifier of a network slice instance and filtering information, the filtering information indicates the network slice management function device to send a value that is of a network slice performance indicator of the network slice instance and that matches the filtering information, and the network slice performance indicator describes network performance of the network slice instance. The network slice charging function device can then receive a second message from the network slice management function device, where the second message includes the value. The network slice charging function device can then perform charging on the network slice instance based on the value.
Message and system for application function influence on traffic routing
An aspect of the disclosure provides for a method for user equipment (UE) internet protocol (IP) address management. The method includes sending by an application function (AF), a request to a policy control function (PCF), the request including information identifying traffic and an indication that a UE IP address associated with the traffic should be preserved. The method further includes sending by the PCF, to a session management function (SMF) being responsible for managing a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session associated with the traffic, a policy and charging control (PCC) rule including the indication. In some embodiments, the request is sent by the AF to the PCF via a network exposure function (NEF). In some embodiments, the method further includes managing, by the SMF, the UE IP address according to the PCC rule. In some embodiments, the managing includes preserving the UE IP address for a PDU session associated with the traffic. In some embodiments, the preserving includes preventing reselection of a protocol data unit (PDU) session anchor (PSA) to which the UE IP address is associated.
