Device-Assisted Services for Protecting Network Capacity
Device Assisted Services (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided. In some embodiments, DAS for protecting network capacity includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication; classifying the network service usage activity for differential network access control for protecting network capacity; and associating the network service usage activity with a network service usage control policy based on a classification of the network service usage activity to facilitate differential network access control for protecting network capacity.
Interface aggregation for heterogeneous wireless communication systems
First user equipment transmits information identifying first interfaces supported by the first user equipment and first channel capacities associated with the first interfaces. The first user equipment receives information identifying a subset of the first interfaces. The subset is selected based on the first channel capacities and second channel capacities of second interfaces associated with at least one second user equipment. The first user equipment is then configured to aggregate the subset of the first interfaces. A policy server selects a subset of first interfaces supported by a first user equipment based on information indicating first channel capacities of the first interfaces and second channel capacities of second interfaces associated with at least one second user equipment. The policy server transmits instructions to the first user equipment to aggregate the subset.
Device Group Partitions and Settlement Platform
Device group partitions and a settlement platform are provided. In some embodiments, device group partitions (e.g., partitions of devices based on associated device groups) are provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided for partitioned devices. In some embodiments, collecting device generated service usage information for one or more devices in wireless communication on a wireless network; and aggregating the device generated service usage information for a settlement platform for the one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform implements a service billing allocation and/or a service/transactional revenue share among one or more partners. In some embodiments, service usage information includes micro-CDRs, which are used for CDR mediation or reconciliation that provides for service usage accounting on any device activity that is desired. In some embodiments, each device activity that is desired to be associated with a billing event is assigned a micro-CDR transaction code, and a service processor of the device is programmed to account for that activity associated with that transaction code. In some embodiments, a service processor executing on a wireless communications device periodically reports (e.g., during each heartbeat or based on any other periodic, push, and/or pull communication technique(s)) micro-CDR usage measures to, for example, a service controller or some other network element for CDR mediation or reconciliation.
Ethernet type packet data unit session communications
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. A session management function may provide to a user plane function one or more messages comprising an Ethernet packet filter set and/or information for at least one policy rule. The user plane function may apply the at least one policy rule to a data flow to provide an Ethernet packet data unit session for a wireless device.
Ethernet type packet data unit session communications
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. A policy control function may determine a policy and charging control rule comprising one or more Ethernet source MAC addresses and a quality of service policy. The policy control function may send the policy and charging control rule to a session management function to provide an Ethernet PDU session for a wireless device.
Dynamic Resource Granting Method and Device in Communication System, and Computer Readable Medium
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices and computer-readable media for dynamic resource authorization in a communication network. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a device in a vendor network dynamically transmits a request to a network device in the vendor network according to a resource usage state in an operator network. In addition, the vendor and an operator negotiate on charging, so that resource requests and allocation are more reasonable, and the resource usage rate is improved. Furthermore, according to embodiments of the present disclosure, the operator further negotiates with a user on charging, so that the user is able to request and utilize a resource in a better manner.

Hybrid video time-bandwidth product improvement (HVTBPI) reception
The disclosure is directed to an apparatus that can include a first receiver, a second receiver, a video demultiplexor, and an assembly engine. The first receiver can receive multiplexed multimedia content and advertisement, the multiplexed multimedia content and advertisement being received over a reduced number of broadcast channels to release at least one of bandwidth and radio frequency spectrum, not included in the reduced number of broadcast channels, for other applications. The second receiver can receive unavailable other content, the unavailable other content being other content that is different from the multiplexed multimedia content and advertisement and unavailable to the apparatus. The video demultiplexor can demultiplex the received multiplexed multimedia content and advertisement from the reduced number of broadcast channels to produce a multimedia content and an advertisement and store, within a storage device, the multimedia content and the advertisement.
