SYSTEM AND METHOD USING ONE OR MORE SMART DEVICES TO DETERMINE INDIVIDUAL CONSUMPTION THROUGH NETWORK MONITORING
20220407737 · 2022-12-22 ·

An apparatus for determining individual consumption for a plurality of users through computer network monitoring. The apparatus comprises a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive data from one or more smart devices associated with a first user and a second user through data streaming between the one or more smart devices and a server. The processor is further configured to determine that a first home associated with the first user and a second home associated with a second user are located within a distance threshold from each other based, at least in part, on geolocation information. The processor is further configured to determine that the first user and the second user are comparable peers. The processor is further configured to determine that an individual consumption of one of the comparable peers is greater than an average total consumption and to transmit an alert.

Building management system with automatic equipment discovery and function extension

A building management system includes a communications bus, subordinate devices connected to the communications bus, and a controller connected to the communications bus. The controller includes an active node table including a plurality of nodes, each node representing one of the subordinate devices connected to the communications bus. The controller is configured to monitor the active node table for a newly connected subordinate device, use a set of rules to determine whether the newly connected subordinate device is supported by the controller for performing an identified function in combination with the controller, and, in response to a determination that the newly connected subordinate device is supported, extend the identified function of the controller to the newly connected subordinate device. Extending the identified function includes enabling the newly connected subordinate device to perform the identified function.

DISPLAY CONTROL FOR TELEVISIONS

Systems and methods for controlling displays of televisions are provided. In one example, a display control system includes a plurality of televisions and a plurality of TV sensors. Each TV sensor is operably engaged with a respective one of the plurality of televisions. The display control system further includes a control device located remotely from the plurality of televisions and the plurality of TV sensors and configured to communicate with each of the plurality of TV sensors. The control device is configured to transmit a control signal to each of the plurality of TV sensors for controlling the televisions.

Dynamic control and creation of user private networks

In one embodiment, a method in a multi-tenant wireless network comprises determining a first user private network (UPN) for a first device of a first user. The first UPN provides discovery, by the first device, of other devices on the wireless network to a first subset of other devices on the wireless network. The method further comprises determining a second UPN for the first device of the first user. The second UPN provides discovery, by the first device, of other devices on the wireless network to a second subset of other devices on the wireless network. The method further comprises providing discovery of the first subset and second subset of other devices on the wireless network to the first device of the first user. Discovery of the second subset is provided dynamically based on a current location of the first device.

ACTIVATION OF GATEWAY DEVICE
20220394046 · 2022-12-08 ·

Systems and methods for activating an interface device for use at a premises are described. An interface device may be activated for a security system at the premises. The interface device may communicate with a remote server to request activation. The remote server may also be in communication with a user device. A correspondence of a first address of the interface device and a second address of the user device may be used to authorize the interface device for activation. The interface device may receive an activation message and begin communicating with and controlling a security system and other devices at the premises.

Camera-based commissioning

Lighting control systems may be commissioned for programming and/or control with the aid of a mobile device. Design software may be used to create a floor plan of how the lighting control system may be designed. The design software may generate floor plan identifiers for each lighting fixture, or group of lighting fixtures. During commissioning of the lighting control system, the mobile device may be used to help identify the lighting devices that have been installed in the physical space. The mobile device may receive a communication from each lighting control device that indicates a unique identifier of the lighting control device. The unique identifier may be communicated by visible light communication (VLC) or RF communication. The unique identifier may be associated with the floor plan identifier for communication of digital messages to lighting fixtures installed in the locations indicated in the floor plan identifier.

Method and device for installing a node in a home network

A method is provided for installing a new node in a wireless home network having a client network and includes a node able to form a mesh network. A connection of a new node to the client network supplied by the home network node is detected, and an identifier of a client device that is connected to the client network is received. If the client device is known to the home network: the new node is notified that the client device that is connected to the client network must be disconnected from the client network; a connection of the client device to the client network supplied by the node of the home network is detected; and identifiers of the mesh network are transferred to the new node if the connection of the disconnected client device to the client network supplied by the node of the domestic network is detected.

METHOD FOR REMOTELY CONFIGURING ACCESS TO, CONTROLLING AND MONITORING AT LEAST ONE HOME AUTOMATION DEVICE FORMING PART OF A HOME AUTOMATION INSTALLATION
20220376945 · 2022-11-24 ·

A method of remotely configuring access to at least one home automation device that is part of a home-automation installation, the home automation installation comprising at least one home automation device and at least one central control unit, and the method being performed by a first remote access service carried out by a management unit and including the following steps: receiving an information message relating to the presence of the home automation device from a central control unit to which the device is linked; determining a second service associated with the type of home automation device for which remote access must be configured with corresponding access rules; configuring an access rights reference system in order to accept at least one control command from the second service or transmitting monitoring data to the second service on behalf of the home automation device. The present application also relates to a control and monitoring method.

Embodiments include systems and methods comprising a gateway located at a premise forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices. A sensor user interface (SUI) is coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device. The SUI includes at least one display element. The at least one display element includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise. The floor plan display visually and separately indicates a location and a current state of each premise device of the plurality of premise devices.

Information management method

A server apparatus receives a device ID indicating one electrical home appliance among one or more electrical home appliances and a gateway ID indicating that the one electrical home appliance belongs to a same owner, a same group, or a same home as the one or more electrical home appliances, determines whether or not the one electrical home appliance is a newly connected electrical home appliance, using a management database that manages device IDs indicating the one or more electrical home appliances and the gateway ID, and when it is determined made that the one electrical home appliance is a newly connected electrical home appliance, provides an information device, which is associated with the gateway ID and which differs from the one electrical home appliance, with notification information for confirming whether or not it is to be permitted to collect the log information from the one electrical home appliance.
