POWER OUTLET CAMERAS
A security system can be configured to mount to a power outlet. The security system can include an outwardly facing portion configured to face away from the power outlet and an inwardly facing portion having a first electrical prong and a second electrical prong that protrude into the power outlet to mount the security system to the power outlet. The security system can also include a detection system comprising a camera and a motion detector.
SYSTEM AND METHOD USING ONE OR MORE SMART DEVICES TO DETERMINE INDIVIDUAL CONSUMPTION THROUGH NETWORK MONITORING
An apparatus for determining individual consumption for a plurality of users through computer network monitoring. The apparatus comprises a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive data from one or more smart devices associated with a first user and a second user through data streaming between the one or more smart devices and a server. The processor is further configured to determine that a first home associated with the first user and a second home associated with a second user are located within a distance threshold from each other based, at least in part, on geolocation information. The processor is further configured to determine that the first user and the second user are comparable peers. The processor is further configured to determine that an individual consumption of one of the comparable peers is greater than an average total consumption and to transmit an alert.
Low frequency energy disaggregation techniques
The present invention teaches methods of performing appliance itemization based on consumption data, including: receiving at a processor the data; determining if the data includes active signals and/or inactive signals; upon detection of an active signal: detecting and estimating active water heating consumption and lighting consumption; upon detection of an inactive signal: detecting and estimating passive water heating consumption, refrigerator consumption; and detecting vacation mode. Methods are disclosed of appliance itemization based whole house consumption data consumption from an advanced metering infrastructure device, the data being at 15, 30, or 60 minute intervals, including: applying disaggregation models to provide detection and estimation of any lighting, water heating, refrigeration, pool pumps, heating, or cooling appliances; applying rule-based models to provide detection and estimation of any cooking, laundry, entertainment, and/or miscellaneous appliances; wherein the disaggregation models and the rule-based models provide for a near complete appliance level itemization and estimation.
Multi-user devices in a connected home environment
A device implementing a system for sharing a voice profile includes a processor configured to receive a request to share a first voice profile corresponding to a first user account associated with a first device, with a second device associated with a second user account, the second device being voice-enabled, the first voice profile being stored on a first data store associated with the first user account. The processor is further configured to update a second data store associated with the second user account to include a reference to the first voice profile stored on the first data store, and to send, to the second device, a notification that the second data store has been updated to include the reference to the first voice profile.
Smart home and security system
A security and smart home system, components thereof, and associated methods. The system can include a host-carried monitor configured to monitor data associated with the host, such as motion data, position data, temperature data, or humidity data. The system can include one or more security devices located at a premises to monitor security data at the premises, with the one or more security devices in communication with a remote server programmed to process security event signals from the one or more security devices and transmit action instructions to the one or more security devices. Security devices can include an electrical power switch, an electrical power plug, and a camera.
Voice Wakeup Method and System, and Device
A voice wakeup method includes receiving a plurality of voice wakeup messages sent by a plurality of electronic devices, where each voice wakeup message includes a distance and a wakeup energy value; determining, based on distances and wakeup energy values in the plurality of voice wakeup messages from the plurality of electronic devices, whether energy attenuation of the wakeup word emitted by the sound source complies with an attenuation law of sound energy radiated by a point source; and when determining that the energy attenuation of the wakeup word emitted by the sound source does not comply with the attenuation law of the sound energy radiated by the point source, sending a wakeup forbidding instruction to the plurality of electronic devices.
Electronic Monitoring System with Secondary Communication Path for Evaluating Device Locations
An electronic monitoring system is provided that implements multiple wireless communication paths for facilitating connectivity evaluations of potential mounting locations of wirelessly networked devices, such as monitoring devices. The system can provide real-time feedback of when the monitoring device moves from within communication range of a hub to outside of its communication range. The feedback may be sent using a secondary communication path of the system, allowing the system to communicate information about the state of its primary communication path connectivity.
DOORBELL COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An electronic doorbell can include an outer housing configurable to couple to a building. The doorbell can also include a camera coupled to the outer housing and a microphone coupled to the outer housing. The doorbell can also include a button coupled to the outer housing. The electronic doorbell can be configurable to wirelessly communicate with an appliance located within the building.
Server-provided visual output at a voice interface device
A method at an electronic device with an array of indicator lights includes: obtaining first visual output instructions stored at the electronic device, where the first visual output instructions control operation of the array of indicator lights based on operating state of the electronic device; receiving a voice input; obtaining from a remote system a response to the voice input and second visual output instructions, where the second visual output instructions are provided by the remote system along with the response in accordance with a determination that the voice input satisfies one or more criteria; executing the response; and displaying visual output on the array of indicator lights in accordance with the second visual output instructions, where otherwise in absence of the second visual output instructions the electronic device displays visual output on the array of indicator lights in accordance with the first visual output instructions.
Thermostat and system and method for use of same
A thermostat and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a processor, memory, and a camera. To improve convenience, the thermostat may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device having a display. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the thermostat may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network and, under certain conditions, the thermostat may provide a video feed.
