A method for synchronizing at least one device setting between a first gateway device and a second gateway device includes accessing a graphical user interface (GUI) for the first gateway device on a client device, establishing a network connection between the first gateway device and the second gateway device, obtaining a prior user configuration of device settings from the second gateway device, parsing the device settings of the second gateway device, selecting, via the GUI for the first gateway device, at least one of the device settings of the second gateway device to obtain a new user configuration, and transmitting the new user configuration to the first gateway device for implementation.
Multi-networked lighting device
A lighting device utilizes physical or virtual separation of elements within the lighting device to isolate a first portion of data for delivery to a first data network from a second portion of data for delivery to a second data network. The first portion of data relates to a first signal generated responsive to a first sensed condition. The second portion of data may relate to the first signal or to a second signal generated responsive to the first sensed condition or a second sensed condition. The lighting device utilizes a first communication interface to deliver the first portion of data to the first data network and a second communication interface to deliver the second portion of data to the second data network.

A method for verifying an operation in a wireless remote control system is disclosed, comprising the following steps: receive a control command with a server, and store the control command in the server; upon receiving an inquiry command from a relay device, the control command is sent to the relay device, and then sent to a home appliance to operate the home appliance accordingly; a state information is generated by the home appliance after performing the operation, and is sent to the server by the relay device; determine whether the server receives the state information; if so, a corresponding relation between the state information and the control command is established in the server; otherwise, the relay device is required to return the state information again, until the server does receive the state information. Whereby, the operation of the home appliance could be verified.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING NETWORK TRAFFIC
Method for managing network traffic between one or more user equipment devices in a private network and a server outside the private network via a private gateway, a server gateway and a connection therebetween, wherein the server gateway acts as a router and the private gateway acts as a bridge, comprising: (i) monitoring the connection between the private gateway and the server gateway; (ii) in the event of loss of connection, switching the private gateway from a bridge operation mode to a minimal service mode, which provides minimal routing services to allow data traffic in the private network to continue; (iii) repeating the method from step (i); (iv) in case of retrieved connection, switching the private gateway from the minimal service mode back to the bridge operation mode; and (v) repeating the method from step (i).

NETWORK DEVICES FOR SCALABLE POINT TO MULTIPOINT NETWORKS
The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to Point-to-Multipoint (P2MP) communication networks and G.hn networking standards used therewith. In some implementations, the system includes a domain master (DM) network device and one or more network devices. The DM network device is configured to receive control request messages from one or more network devices, establish a connection via a point-to-multipoint (P2MP) network coupling to the one or more network devices based on the received control request messages, and transmit control messages to one or more network devices via the connection. A network device is configured to receive the control messages from the DM network device, receive data from a backbone network coupled to the P2MP network coupling, and transmit the received data to a designated client device through the P2MP network coupling in accordance with a P2MP communication protocol using a resource allocation received in the control message.
Synchronizing an application on a companion device
A media server machine may be configured to provide media content within a datastream. This datastream may be provided to a media device that is configured to present the media content on a display. Also, this datastream may contemporaneously contain an “app-sync indicator” for the media content. The app-sync indicator is a data structure that signals the media device to launch an application on a companion device. By providing the app-sync indicator contemporaneously with the media content in the datastream, the launching of the application on the companion device may be synchronized with the media content. The app-sync indicator may specify the application to be launched. Also, the app-sync indicator may specify supplemental content to be presented by the launched application on the companion device.
Providing real-time voice communication between devices connected to an internet protocol network and devices connected to a public switched telephone network
Systems, methods, and apparatus for providing real-time voice communication between devices connected to an Internet Protocol (IP) network and devices connected to a public switched telephone network (PSTN). In one implementation, the system includes a computer-controlled switch for connection to a local PSTN, for receiving calls from the IP network and the PSTN, and for routing calls to the PSTN and the IP network; and gate interface circuitry connected to the switch and adapted for connection to the IP network. The gate interface circuitry includes gateway circuitry for interfacing the IP network and PSTN voice circuits, and gatekeeper circuitry for performing address translation, admission control, bandwidth management, and zone management. The switch stores at least one PSTN destination address and at least one IP network destination address for each subscriber. The switch routes an incoming call to any one of the destination addresses stored for the subscriber.

A method and system for providing a content service such as an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) using multiple devices are provided. A method, in which a gateway provides a content service using multiple devices, includes sending a service request to a service provider, receiving required list information from the service provider receiving the service request, the required list information indicating a list of devices required for a requested service, acquiring performance information of accessible devices on the basis of the required list information, receiving content with a service level corresponding to the acquired performance information from the service provider, and distributing the received content to the accessible devices to be used for the content service.

For example, one embodiment of a system comprises: an Internet of Things (IoT) hub comprising a network interface to couple the IoT hub to an IoT service, the IoT hub further comprising a local communication interface to communicatively couple the IoT hub to a plurality of IoT devices over local communication channels; the IoT hub comprising logic to collect data from each of the IoT devices and to control the IoT devices responsive to user input from a plurality of different users; user behavior data collection logic to collect user behavior data within the IoT system, the user behavior data collection logic to monitor and record the data accessed by each user from each of the IoT devices and the IoT devices controlled by each user; and user profile generation logic to analyze the user behavior data to determine a profile for each user; and targeted content generation logic to generate targeted content to be transmitted to each user in accordance with each determined profile.
