SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR STORING APPLIANCE DIAGNOSTICS DATA
A method for recording data in an appliance includes identifying a data storage condition that corresponds to a particular data storage capacity or protocol. Based on the identification of the data storage condition, a data storage protocol may be determined, which includes at least one of a cycle count for which prior operating cycle data is stored in the system memory and a data density of the diagnostics data stored in the system memory (e.g., such as the recorded parameters or a sample rate of such parameters), and obtaining and storing diagnostics data in the system memory of the controller in accordance with the data storage protocol.
SECURITY PROCESSING METHOD AND SERVER
An anomaly detection server is provided. The anomaly detection server is a server for counteracting an anomalous frame transmitted on an on-board network of a single vehicle. The anomaly detection server acquires information about multiple frames received on one or multiple on-board networks of one or multiple vehicles, including the single vehicle. The anomaly detection server, acting as an assessment unit that, based on the information about the multiple frames and information about a frame received on the on-board network of the single vehicle after the acquisition of the information about the multiple frames, assesses an anomaly level of the frame received on the on-board network of the single vehicle.
PERIPHERAL BUS VIDEO COMMUNICATION USING INTERNET PROTOCOL
Described are techniques for video bridging for conversion of IP network video streams to the USB Video Class (UVC). The conversion of IP video to UVC video can include the use of software-only conversions and hardware assisted conversions, and can be done within purpose-built “conversion” devices or as software only solutions operating within applications or drivers within the operating systems of the “end nodes”. The end-nodes simultaneously see and use multiple USB UVC video sources. The conversion process can also convert the USB UVC video control protocol to IP Video Stream control protocols.
Home automation system generating user health score and related methods
A home automation (HA) system may include addressable HA devices and a user interface device configured to permit user social networking and generate user social networking data based thereon. The HA system may also include a controller and a memory coupled thereto and configured to store measured user health data and determine user physical activity data based upon the addressable HA devices. The controller and the memory may be configured to generate a user health score based upon the user social networking data, user health data, and user physical activity data and communicate the user health score via the cloud.
Smart home communications architecture
Communications architecture, system topology and connectivity, messaging protocols, packet design, and control procedures, and implementation thereof in smart home and “internet of things” (IoT) systems and devices.
APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR HOME DEVICE MANAGEMENT
A home equipment management apparatus includes: an inquiry unit that inquires, in response to a registration request from a user terminal via a wide area network, a house control device that controls a standard-compatible equipment and a vendor-specific equipment connected to a home network about information of the vendor-specific equipment via the wide area network; a registration unit that registers the information of the vendor-specific equipment including at least address information transmitted from the house control device, together with identification information indicating that the equipment is a vendor-specific equipment; a confirmation unit that transmits the information of the vendor-specific equipment registered in the equipment management table to the user terminal and acquires a result of approval, correction, or addition by the user terminal; and an update unit that updates a registered content of the vendor-specific equipment according to the result of approval, correction, or addition by the user terminal.
System and method for appliance control via a personal communication or entertainment device
A system for use in controlling operating functions of a controllable device includes a hand-held device and an intermediate device in communication with the hand-held device and the controllable device. The hand-held device is adapted to receive a gesture based input and to transmit a signal having data representative of the gesture based input. The intermediate device has programming for translating the data representative of the gesture based input in a signal received from the hand-held device into a command signal to be communicated to the controllable device wherein the command signal has a format appropriate for controlling an operating function of the controllable device that is associated with the gesture based input.
