DETECTING VLAN MISCONFIGURATION
Disclosed are methods for detecting misconfigured VLANs. In some embodiments, traffic on a VLAN across multiple access points is categorized. Traffic on the VLAN at a single access point is then also categorized. The categorization of the VLAN traffic at the single access point can be in response to, for example, communication errors or other conditions. The two categorizations are then compared to determine if the VLAN traffic at the AP is consistent with the VLAN traffic across a network (e.g., an enterprise network). If the VLAN traffic at the AP is generally consistent with that across the network, this may indicate that a downstream network component, such as a switch or router, is misconfigured. Thus, some embodiments programmatically reconfigure the downstream component to forward traffic for the VLAN.
DSL neighborhood diagnostics
A Device Abstraction Proxy (DAP) interface receives a request for operational data relating to Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services provided to a plurality of DSL terminals in a DSL network by two or more providers. The DAP interface receives, in response to the request, the operational data, including operational data for a plurality of DSL lines coupled to the plurality of DSL terminals. The DAP then identifies at least two of the plurality of DSL lines as belonging to a common neighborhood of DSL lines, each of the at least two of the plurality of DSL lines respectively associated with at least two of the plurality of DSL terminals being provided the DSL services by different providers. Embodiments correlate a condition and/or a performance of one of the at least two DSL lines identified as belonging to the common neighborhood with a condition and/or performance of another one of the at least two DSL lines identified as belonging to the common neighborhood.
Method and system to enable a virtual private network client
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method comprising transmitting, by a controller comprising a processor, a request to a server to enable initiation of a virtual private network session on behalf of devices other than the controller. The controller transmits authentication information to enable the server to validate the request, and receives a first list of computing devices. The controller transmits a first selection of a target device from the first list to cause the server to initiate the virtual private network session between the target device and a service node providing services to the target device via the virtual private network session. The controller receives a second list of applications executable on each of the computing devices, and transmits to the server a second selection of an application from the second list that is executable by the target device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Access to a Computer Network
A method of mediating access to a computer network comprises the steps of identifying a user who wishes to access the computer network, obtaining quality of service data specific to the user, generating a token comprising the quality of service data and providing an output derived from the token to the user. Optionally, the method can further comprise receiving a request from the user for access to the computer network and providing access to the computer network to the user according to the token.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATING VIA A TRACK WITH AN INDUSTRIAL CART
A system includes a track having conductive rails, a signal generating circuit coupled to the conductive rails, and an electrical power source coupled to the conductive rails via the signal generating circuit. The signal generating circuit includes a power supply for generating trigger signals. The electrical power source provides an electrical signal to the conductive rails via the signal generating circuit. The signal generating circuit generates a first trigger signal within the electrical signal at a first time interval and generates a second trigger signal within the electrical signal at a second time interval. The first trigger signal corresponds to a beginning of a communication signal and the second trigger signal corresponds to an end of the communication signal. The communication signal is transmitted over a predetermined number of cycles of the electrical signal provided by the electrical power source. The predetermined number of cycles correspond to a coded communication.
Efficient remote PHY dataplane management for a cable system
A cable distribution system that includes a headend connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that includes a remote fiber node that converts digital data to analog data suitable for the plurality of customer devices. The remote fiber node receiving a downstream external protocol interface packet that includes a header portion and a data portion in memory. The remote fiber node encoding and transmitting the data portion to at least one of the plurality of customer devices, wherein the data portion is transferred from the memory using direct memory access based upon a buffer descriptor for the encoding.
Access to a computer network
A system for mediating access to a computer network comprises the steps of identifying a user who wishes to access the computer network, obtaining quality of service data specific to the user, generating a token comprising the quality of service data and providing an output derived from the token to the user. Optionally, the system can further comprise receiving a request from the user for access to the computer network and providing access to the computer network to the user according to the token.
MIGRATION BETWEEN ACCESS SERVICES
A method is suggested for switching a subscriber line, the method comprising (i) conducting an evaluation of a signal provided by a terminal device, and (ii) controlling a switch that is arranged to connect one of at least two access services based on the evaluation of the signal with the subscriber line that is connected to the terminal device. Also, corresponding systems are provided.
Method for transmitting data streams through a telecommunication network
Provided is a method for controlling exchanges of data streams between at least one source connected to a hybrid wide area telecommunication network via a local area access network and at least one recipient connected to the wide area telecommunication network via a remote access network. The method includes the steps of: setting new transfer rules through the analysis of the streams, dynamically creating at least one additional stream exchange path from the new transfer rules and the access rules in force, applying on the additional path burn-in, securization and optimization mechanisms for the stream transfers between the local area access network and the remote access network, and transferring each new stream to the recipient via the additional path according to the new transfer rules.
Adapting 5G NR spatial components for stacked transmission via RF/optical media
Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for spatially combining a plurality of 5G new radio (NR) carrier signals or channels for transport via a common frequency channel through a hybrid fiber coax (HFC) or other communications medium link or network. To overcome a loss of receiver ability to discriminate/process individual spatial components, each baseband signal and/or carrier signal including a spatial component has imparted to it a respective channel component n configured to modify amplitude, phase shift, and/or time delay of the baseband signal and/or carrier signal such that multiple spatial component bearing signals stacked/combined within a HFC frequency channel or slot include channel characteristics sufficiently distinct so as to enable a receiver to identify, discriminate, and otherwise process desired spatial components.
