The IoT gateway includes a wide area network (WAN) port monitoring portion; an operating mode determiner configured to determine an operating mode; a smart device access portion; a router access portion; and a service provider configured to, when the router access portion accesses the target router, transfer status messages acquired from one or more IoT devices to the target router, or receive control commands for the one or more IoT devices from the target router and transfer the control commands to the corresponding IoT devices.
Method for access network virtualization and proxy node
An embodiment of the present invention discloses a method for access network virtualization and a proxy node, relates to a technical field of communication, and does not need to modify an existing management system when a new type of access network node is added into an original access network. The method of the present invention comprises: a proxy node establishing a relationship mapping table; the proxy node receiving a packet sent by a management system; the proxy node querying the relationship mapping table according to first parameter information to obtain second parameter information; and sending the packet to a remote access node corresponding to the second parameter information according to the second parameter information. The present invention is applicable to a proxy node.
System and method for implementing customer control point or customer portal
Novel tools and techniques provide for implementing network configuration, and, in particular embodiments, to methods, systems, apparatus, and computer software for implementing customer control point or customer portal for enabling customer-based virtualized platform and network configuration. In some embodiments, a network node might receive, via a user portal (e.g., an app-based or web-based customer portal), a request from a user to change a network configuration of a network. In response to receiving the request, the network node might determine one or more network configuration changes to make to effect the request to change the network configuration of the network, and might reconfigure the network by effecting the determined one or more network configuration changes. In some cases, the user portal might be represented by a graphical user interface that allows the user to manipulate or interact with icons of devices, apps, VNFs, etc., as a form of making the request.
Methods and apparatus for exchanging communication signals via a cable of twisted pair wires
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a system for obtaining energy from at least one twisted pair wires of a cable, and transmitting communication signals via a plurality of twisted pair wires not associated with the at least one twisted pair wires supplying the energy to the processing system, wherein the plurality of twisted pair wires is electrically shorted resulting in a combined wire, wherein the communication signals are directed to a second device via the combined wire, wherein propagation of the communication signals along the combined wire is enabled by utilizing an electrical return path provided by a metallic shield of the cable, and wherein a message wire of the cable supports placement of the first device on the cable. Other embodiments are disclosed.
FORWARDING PACKET
Provided are a method and an apparatus for forwarding a packet. Based on an example of the method, in a case of receiving an upstream Q-in-Q protocol packet through a port connected to an access device, an Edge Stream Gateway (ESGW) device forwards the upstream Q-in-Q protocol packet to a Virtual Broadband Remote Access Server (vBRAS) device through a Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) tunnel between the ESGW device and the vBRAS device; in a case of receiving an upstream Q-in-Q data packet through a port connected to the access device, the ESGW device removes a Q-in-Q tag of the upstream Q-in-Q data packet, determines that a destination Media Access Control (MAC) address of the upstream Ethernet data packet without the Q-in-Q tag is an MAC address of the ESGW device, and performs layer-3 forwarding based on a destination IP address of the upstream Ethernet data packet.
Fault resilient virtual broadband gateway
Provided are methods and systems for providing a fault resilient virtual broadband gateway. A fault resilient virtual broadband gateway system may include a primary network node, at least one secondary node, and a controller. The primary network node may establish a first data traffic channel with customer premises equipment. The primary network node may collect customer policy data of the customer premises equipment and continuously provide the collected customer policy data to the controller. The at least one secondary network node may determine that the primary network node is no longer available to serve the customer premises equipment and may establish a second data traffic channel with the customer premises equipment. The at least one secondary network node may receive, on demand, the customer policy data from the controller. The at least one secondary network node may serve the customer premises equipment based on the received customer policy data.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREDICTINGSUCCESSFUL DSL LINE OPTIMIZATION
A DSL management system predicts achieving improved DSL line performance before a DSL optimizer optimizes performance of the DSL line. The system obtains a current state of performance of the DSL line before optimization and a target state of performance after optimization. The system further obtains a measure of DSL line characteristics and identifies, from records of performance information associated with DSL lines, a subset of records associated with a subset of DSL lines that have a similar measure of the DSL line characteristics as the DSL line for which achieving improved performance is predicted. The system obtains a probability that the DSL optimizer will optimize the performance of the DSL line based on a frequency with which the identified subset of records indicates that the optimizer previously has optimized the performance of the subset of DSL lines.
Service request management
A computer-implemented system and method for managing service requests are disclosed. The system includes a service provider, having a number of server devices, that provides a service response in response to a client service request. The service response includes a service instance ID associated with a server and a connection lease. A communication processing component routes a first client service request to one of the servers. Subsequent client service requests and responses are transmitted directly between the client device and the server device associated with service instance ID included in the first service response for the duration of the connection lease.
