System, Method and Apparatus for Sensor Activation
20200228884 · 2020-07-16 ·

A configured mode of operation of a wireless sensor node unit can selectively activate a first subset of sensor channels of data and selectively deactivate a second subset of sensor channels of data. The configured mode of operation customizes the sensor functionality in the wireless sensor node unit in support of the delivery of data streams to customers.

Web-based interaction with building automation

Web-based interaction with building automation is provided. The interaction, regardless of the access point, is browser based. For IP access, hypertext protocol (http) communications of the browser are performed. The web-enabled controller serves responses with building automation information. For non-IP access, a web-server operating as an application in the same device as the browser intercepts the http communication and reformats the communication as appropriate for the non-IP access. Based on a response from the building automation system, the device local web-server responds to the browser. For communicating across different types of networks in the building automation system, controllers may use the embedded web-server to reformat as needed and route requests. The same look, feel, functionality, and/or usability may be provided using the browser regardless of the connectivity to the building automation network.

METHOD FOR RESOLVING AN ADDRESS CONFLICT FOR MODBUS RTU STANDARD PROTOCOL
20200125515 · 2020-04-23 ·

The invention relates to a method for a master-slave communication using the Modbus RTU (Modbus Remote Terminal Unit) standard protocol for resolving an address conflict based on identically set device addresses and for identifying a device connected to the Modbus having a device identification. The addressed device is uniquely identified by means of its device identification, which is transmitted by the request, and a new device address is being transmitted to this uniquely identified device by means of the sent request. The fundamental concept of the present invention is advantageously based on using only the standard way of communication, meaning the standardized master-slave communication, for the assignment of a unique device address on the bus and on using the inherently existing device identification, such as the serial number (see below), for uniquely identifying a device.

METHOD FOR ADDRESS CONFIGURATION FOR A MASTER-SLAVE SYSTEM
20240056418 · 2024-02-15 ·

A method for address configuration for a master/slave system via a field bus for serial data transmission, wherein a master unit is connected to the field bus, is characterized in that a number range for addresses of slave units on the field bus is divided into a static range and a dynamic range, that at least one new slave unit is connected to the field bus, that a respective initial field bus address from the dynamic range is programmed into the at least one new slave unit, via which initial field bus address the at least one new slave unit can respectively be addressed. The master unit queries the dynamic range of the addresses of slave units, the master unit receives a respective response message from the at least one new slave unit to the query, and the master unit transmits a target field bus address.

Apparatuses and associated methods for load bank and power generator control are described herein. In one aspect, a method for controlling a load bank can include: receiving input via a human-machine interface (HMI) corresponding to setpoints of operation for the load bank; receiving data via a power quality analyzer and corresponding to load bank operating parameters; determining, via the power quality analyzer, whether the load bank is operating according to the setpoints of operation received from the HMI; and generating a set of commands for adjusting the load bank operating parameters based on whether the load bank is operating according to the setpoints of operation.

A heterogeneous fieldbus-based gateway system includes a master inverter and a control device. The control device is configured to transmit, to the master inverter, a data indicating that the same monitoring or control command is to be transmitted to all of the master inverter and a plurality of slave inverters. When the master inverter determines based on the data that the control device transmits the same monitoring or control command to all of the master inverter and the plurality of slave inverters, the master inverter is configured to transmit a response to the command to the control device and to transmit the command to each of the slave inverters.

A wireless sensor network at a monitored location can be configured to generate sensor channel(s) of data to assess operational conditions at the monitored location. Inputs based on the sensor channel(s) of data are provided to a host system for analysis of a demand to one or more resources at the monitored location. Response messages can be generated based on the demand analysis and transmitted to actuator(s) at the monitored location to effect an adjustment to the operational conditions.
