Tractor trailer vehicle area network with trailer sub-network
A method establishes a vehicle area network on a vehicle having a tractor with a tractor wireless hub, the tractor being connected to a first trailer having a first trailer wireless hub. The method activates the tractor hub and the first trailer wireless hub, and shares credentials between the tractor wireless hub and the first trailer wireless hub in accordance with out of band pairing techniques. Typically, the tractor wireless hub acts as an access point for the vehicle area network but the access point can be centralized by: searching down a length of the vehicle to determine relative locations of the tractor wireless hub, the first trailer wireless hub and the second trailer wireless hub; determining a centrally located hub based on the locations; and establishing the centrally located hub as the access point.
Wireless vehicle area network having connected brake sensors
A system for measuring brake data from a braking assembly of a vehicle. The braking assembly includes a floating portion that moves relative to brake pad wear. The system includes a brake sensor for each wheel. The brake sensors include a fixed sensing element and a target portion attached for movement with the floating portion. The sensing element generates a signal indicating a position of the target portion. The signal is used to determine brake pad thickness. The brake sensor also transmits the signal over a wireless vehicle area network for receipt and processing by a wireless hub in the vehicle area network. The vehicle area network can generate and transmit an alert and/or instructions for an autonomous vehicle based on the signal.
Communication device, train network system, and network setting method
A communication device operating as a hub in a train network system that includes a plurality of hubs installed in train vehicles, each of the plurality of hubs belonging to both a trunk network in which a signal transmission range is not limited and a branch network in which a signal transmission range is limited, and adding, to a signal to be transmitted to a hub belonging to the same branch network as it does, network type information indicating whether the signal is a trunk network signal or a branch network signal. The communication device transmitting branch network information including at least identification information on a branch network to which it belongs at a predetermined timing, and based on branch network information received from an adjacent communication device, determining whether or not to add the network type information to a signal to be transmitted to the adjacent communication device.
Rail vehicle
A rail vehicle includes a vehicle unit having operating device subsystems and a guide system including a first guide system level in which operating device subsystems are networked with one another by using a digital data bus structure, and at least one second guide system level having at least one line set associated with the analog handling of processes in the operating device subsystems. In order to provide a generic rail vehicle in which a high level of safety can be achieved with little outlay on wiring, the vehicle unit includes a guide system interface device having a first interface unit associated with the data bus structure, at least one second interface unit associated with the line set, and a control unit which, in at least one operating mode, is provided for handling the processes through the second interface unit.
Protocol converter between CPCI bus and ISA bus and conversion method thereof
The present application relates to the technical field of field bus communication, and in particular to a protocol converter between a CPCI bus and an ISA bus and a conversion method thereof, which are suitable for communication between railway vehicle CPUs and vehicle bus MVB devices. The protocol converter comprises a CPCI local bus interface extension timing module, an ISA bus interface timing module, a CPCI bus matching ISA bus timing interface module, and a clock management module. The CPCI bus realizes communication with the ISA bus by the protocol converter. The traditional conversion bridge chips are replaced with the protocol converters without changing the traction controller structure and other devices in the system; the flexibility is high; and the functions are diverse. In addition, 8-bit data width or 16-bit data width of the ISA bus is supported, and the operation of an ISA bus device by a CPCI bus device in the form of IO or in the form of MEMORY is supported.
IN-TRAIN TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM AND RELAY DEVICE
An object is to provide an in-train transmission control system which can minimize delay in transmission of command data to devices further than the conventional art, in which a central unit provided in any car of a train formation composed of one or more cars and controlling operation of the entire train formation transmits command data to devices provided in some or all of the cars and in which the devices transmit device data to the central unit. The control system comprises relay device provided in the car, and line concentrator allowing the command data to pass therethrough, and when receiving device data from the devices, transmitting the device data to the relay device. The relay device aggregates the device data received from the line concentrator to transmit the aggregated data to the central unit.
Network system and communication apparatus for performing communication among networks having different VLAN settings
A network system that comprises a plurality of communication apparatuses, each of the communication apparatuses being capable of performing a VLAN setting by using a VLAN number set for a connection port, that sets a VLAN number for each of the communication apparatuses, and that performs communication among cars of a train, wherein in a case where a specific type of packet that disables a VLAN setting is a packet of a multicast address, when a distribution target apparatus is connected to a communication apparatus that has received the specific type of packet, the communication apparatus transfers the specific type of packet to the distribution target apparatus and, irrespective of a VLAN number set for another communication apparatus, regards a VLAN different from a VLAN of the communication apparatus as a same network and transfers the specific type of packet to the another communication apparatus.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DYNAMIC SELECTION OF COMMUNICATION PATHS FOR A MOVING VEHICLE
A method for wireless communication between a moving vehicle and remote servers through at least one external mobile network. A router in the moving vehicle is configured for receiving and transmitting wireless data to and from both an aggregation server, using aggregated communication over at least two separate links, and at least one other stationary communication server, using non-aggregated communication over a single link. The router is further accessible by a plurality of client devices onboard the moving vehicle. At least one selection rule is provided in the router for selecting whether to use aggregated or non-aggregated communication, and a determination is made, upon a request from a client device to communicate with one of said remote servers, whether one of the at least one rules applies; and if so selecting to use aggregated communication via the at least one other communication server for communication based on the determination.
Collector wire network for communication of locally fixed systems parts with at least one variable-location system part
A collector wire network for communicating locally fixed system parts having at least one variable-location system part, wherein data transmission devices are each assigned a reception range, where the reception range is mapped onto a section that results from a length of a collector wire segment plus a first overlap length and a second overlap length, the data transmission device connected to the respective collector wire segment is configured such that a level of the data signal transmitted thereby is matched to a respective reception range such that, because of attenuation of the level, caused by line damping along the first and second conductors and the coupling elements, the level in a receiving device of a variable-location system part which is located outside the reception range no longer recognized as a valid signal.
