MANAGEMENT OF THE CONNECTION WITH OTHER RESIDENTIAL GATEWAYS OF A RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY IMPLEMENTING LINK AGGREGATION
20200336411 · 2020-10-22 ·

A method for managing the connection to other devices of a network device such as a residential gateway, is presented. The method prevents the other devices from being offered the ability to perform aggregation via the device which implements the method if this device itself performs link aggregation with other devices in order to increase its bandwidth. One thus avoids stream crossovers which reduce to naught the benefit of performing link aggregation between several residential gateways.

MEDIA PATH ENGINEERING FOR MULTI-HOMED DEVICES
20200336416 · 2020-10-22 ·

A method of engineering media path selection is described. Addresses and media paths are selected using a media path selection policy. Additionally, a candidate address list may be considered. Using the media path selection policy, devices may select the first hop egress router and a remote default router for transferring data.

Dynamic load balancing using different data transmission paths in a telecommunications network comprising a mobile network part, a fixed network part, and a plurality of router devices
10798612 · 2020-10-06 · ·

A method for dynamic load balancing using different data transmission paths in a telecommunications network includes: in a first step, communication data are exchanged between a fixed network part and a first router device using a first, wireline interface as the data transmission path; and in a second step, further communication data are exchanged using an alternative data transmission path, either in addition to using the data transmission path or instead of using the data transmission path, between the fixed network part and the first router devicevia the second router device.

CONNECTION SETTINGS FOR WIRELESS DEVICES

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods and apparatus for connecting to a communications network using oik of a plurality of connection settings. The method comprises obtaining an operator identification and applying one or more first hash functions, associated with a first Bloom filter, to the operator identification to provide one or more first hash values respectively. The method further comprises responsive to the oik or more first hash values matching the first Bloom filter, attempting a connection with the communications network using a first one of the plurality of connection settings which is associated with the first Bloom filter.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING INDIVIDUALIZED COMMUNICATION SERVICE

A method for providing individualized communication service includes (1) recognizing a first client being communicatively coupled to a first local communication network, (2) determining an identity of the first client, (3) transporting first data between the first client and a first operator communication network, using the first local communication network in accordance with a first service profile associated with the first client, and (4) transporting the first data using the first operator communication network in accordance with the first service profile.

Peer to peer networking and sharing systems and methods

An embodiment includes peer-to-peer (P2P) pairing protocols that mutually authenticate both end points and do not rely upon a backend server or a central certificate provisioning server. An embodiment provides a persistent control path for sending inter-peer control information (e.g., synchronization messages). Another inter-peer path includes an on-demand data path enabled when a unit determines content is ready for sharing. After the content is shared, the data path may be deconstructed, which saves resources on both sides and makes the framework more scalable. Also, embodiments include graphical user avatars to whereby a first peer shares content with a second peer by dragging content over the avatar.

NETWORK CONNECTIVITY METHODS AND SYSTEMS
20200252313 · 2020-08-06 ·

Methods and systems are provided for connecting an electronic device to a network. In some situations, the electronic device connects to a first network provider and pings a first server having a static internet protocol address and a second server having a dedicated uniform resource locator. If the electronic device receives a response from the first and second server, the electronic device maintains its connection to the first network provider. Otherwise, the electronic device connects to a second network provider and pings the first and second servers.

MULTIPLE ASPECTS OF COMMUNICATION IN A DIVERSE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20200245210 · 2020-07-30 ·

A multi-wide area network (WAN) incorporating both satellite-based communication networks and cellular networks (e.g., an LTE network) is disclosed. In one embodiment, the WAN is implemented with a communications framework comprising: an edge appliance comprising a satellite modem interconnect for coupling to a satellite modem external to the edge appliance, a cellular modem interconnect for coupling to a cellular modem external to the edge appliance, a switch coupled to the satellite and cellular modem interconnects, and a processing node coupled to the switch and comprising a router to switch traffic between the satellite modem interconnect and the cellular modem interconnect when the edge appliance communicates with a public data network using a satellite link or a terrestrial cellular link, respectively; and a connectivity platform configured for connection to the edge appliance, the connectivity platform comprising a broker/integrator component configured to operate as a broker and an integrator between the edge appliance and both connectivity service providers and business support systems that perform subscription management to enable the edge appliance access to the satellite and terrestrial cellular links.

INTERNET REACHABILITY DETECTION AND INTERNET HIGH AVAILABILITY FOR MULTI-HOMED NETWORK DEVICES

A method for determining Internet reachability and Internet high availability for a multi-homed device in a network having a plurality of network interfaces includes connecting the multi-homed device to a network interface of interest in the plurality of network interfaces and disabling any functionality of setting a default route entry for the at least one network interface of interest until a determination of Internet reachability is made.

Power consumption control method for wearable device, and wearable device

The present invention provides a power consumption control method for a wearable device, and a wearable device. The method includes: receiving, when a modem of a wearable device is in an off state, remote wireless communication service information transmitted by a terminal through short range communications; or receiving, by a wearable device when a modem of the wearable device is in an on state, content, sent by a network device, of the remote wireless communication service. With the method provided in the present invention, a standby time of the wearable device is prolonged.
