An operation method is implemented by a receiver device. The operation method includes following steps: detecting a signal on a transmission line; performing a channel estimation to acquire a length of the transmission line; comparing the length with at least one length threshold value to generate a comparison result; and adjusting a depth of a FIFO process according to the comparison result.

TRANSMITTING DEVICE, TRANSMISSION METHOD, RECEIVING DEVICE, AND RECEPTION METHOD

A reception apparatus includes reception circuitry and decoding circuitry. The reception receives a signal including a legacy header field, an enhanced directional multi-gigabit (EDMG) header field, and a data field. The decoding circuitry decodes data included in the data field of the received signal. The legacy header field includes a Length field comprising multiple bits. The reception apparatus is an EDMG terminal, and a subset of the multiple bits of the Length field included in the legacy header field is used to indicate bandwidth over which the signal is transmitted. Remaining bits of the Length field included in the legacy header field are used to indicate data length of the received signal.

WIRELESS CHANNEL POWER PROFILE FALSE BASE STATION DETECTION
20210153024 · 2021-05-20 ·

In a wireless access network, a false base station (FBS) may imitate a legitimate base station by repeating the transmissions of the legitimate base station at a higher power level such that one or more user equipment (UEs) synchronize with the FBS instead of the legitimate base station. The present disclosure provides a UE that detects an FBS. The UE may estimate a time of arrival of different multipath components of a downlink signal corresponding to a physical cell identity. The UE may determine an existence of FBS based on a difference between the times of arrival of two of the different multipath components exceeding a threshold amount of time. The UE may perform a mitigation operation in response to determining the existence of the FBS.

Signal equalization apparatus and signal equalization method
20210144030 · 2021-05-13 ·

The present disclosure discloses a signal equalization apparatus. A channel length estimation circuit determines a transmission channel length of the input signal such that a processing circuit retrieves predetermined feed-forward equalizer coefficients. A feed-forward equalizer equalizes the input signal according to operation feed-forward equalizer coefficients. An auto gain circuit amplifies the input signal according to an offset signal. A signal adding circuit adds the amplified input signal and a feedback adjusting signal to generate an added input signal. A data slicer generates a data-slicing result and the offset signal according to reference thresholds based on the added input signal. A feedback equalizer equalizes the data-slicing result to generate the feedback adjusting signal according to operation feedback equalizer coefficients. The feed-forward equalizer ad the feedback equalizer keeps updating the equalizer coefficients such that a signal interference noise is eliminated rapidly to increase a signal and noise ratio of the system.

A packet detection method is disclosed. The packet detection method includes the following operations: receiving a wireless communication signal; calculating a delay correlation function of the wireless communication signal; calculating a delay related output value and a threshold value according to the delay correlation function; and determining whether the wireless communication signal satisfies a feature of a wireless network packet or not according to the delay related output value and the threshold value.

CHANNEL ESTIMATION IN A MULTI-LAYER SYSTEM
20210075645 · 2021-03-11 ·

A method in a wireless receiver for estimating a channel. The method includes receiving a signal comprising a plurality of transmission layers, each layer having at least one reference signal according to a predefined reference signal sequence; determining a window size for performing a sampling operation, wherein the operation is performed in a transformed domain of the received signal; selecting a channel tap length, from a range of channel tap lengths, wherein the selection is based on the window size, a noise mean and a noise variance. The channel estimation is performed from a reference signal sequence for the at least one reference signal and based on samples corresponding to the selected channel tap length.

Time synchronization techniques for wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide time synchronization via wireless communications for devices that use strict timing synchronization. A user equipment (UE) may obtain time synchronization via a wireless connection between the UE and a timing source that may be associated with a base station (or another wireless device). In some cases, the timing source may be synchronized at the UE by determining, using periodic synchronization resources, a propagation delay between the UE and the base station that is based on a timing of a line-of-sight instance of a transmission between the base station and the UE. The propagation delay may be used to determine a timing advance value for use in timing synchronization. One or more devices may be coupled with the UE and the UE may provide commands to the one or more devices that are synchronized according to the synchronized timing source.

The communication circuit is configured to determine a number of specified fields for reserving time for outputting a first signal through the array antenna and receiving a reflection signal corresponding to the first signal reflected by an external object, generate a second signal including information about the number of specified fields, and output the first signal through the array antenna after transmitting the generated second signal to an external electronic device through the array antenna, and receive the reflection signal corresponding to the output first signal.

BEAM SELECTION CRITERIA FOR SINGLE CARRIER WAVEFORM

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for selecting a beam to be allocated for transmitting downlink (DL) data to user equipment (UE). In some implementations, a UE receives a reference signal on each of a number of beams associated with a base station, and determines a delay spread value for each beam. The UE identifies each beam for which the determined channel delay spread value is less than a threshold value, and determines a reference signal received power (RSRP) level for each identified beam. The UE transmits an indication of the determined RSRP levels of the identified beams to the base station, and receives, in response to the transmitted indication, a selection of the beam to be allocated for DL transmissions to the UE.
