Frequency division multiplexing mapping of transmission configuration indicator states to a control channel

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) over a control channel (e.g., a downlink control channel) and the UE may monitor for the control channel in a control resource set (CORSET). The control channel and the CORESET may be associated with a set of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states. The base station and the UE may identify an association between the resources of the CORESET and the set of TCI states based on a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) mapping between the resources of the CORESET and the set of TCI states. In some examples, the association may be a fixed rule at the UE. In other examples, the base station may signal the association to the UE via control signaling. The UE may decode the control channel based on the FDM mapping.

PREDICTIVE CHANNEL ESTIMATION FOR LOW LATENCY RECEIVER

One embodiment is directed to adaptive predictive uplink receive chain processing that involves determining predicted data for one or more early data symbols of a slot based on first baseband IQ data received for the slot. The predicted data for the early data symbols of the slot comprises a predicted version of data used at some point in performing a first portion of uplink receive processing for the early data symbols. The first portion of the uplink receive processing for the early data symbols of the slot is performed using the predicted data. Actual data corresponding to the predicted data is determined based on at least second baseband IQ data received for the slot. In connection with performing a remaining portion of the uplink receive processing for the early data symbols, the preliminary output data for the early data symbols of the slot are adapted based on the actual data.

A terminal apparatus and an associated communication method to be implemented by the terminal apparatus are provided. The terminal apparatus includes a receiver which, in operation, receives, from a base station apparatus, control information indicating whether the terminal apparatus is to transmit one channel quality indicator (CQI) for each subcarrier block within a communication frequency band or one CQI for all subcarrier blocks within the communication frequency band instead of multiple CQIs for multiple subcarrier blocks within the communication frequency band. The terminal apparatus further includes a transmitter which, in operation, transmits one CQI for each subcarrier block within the communication frequency band or one CQI for all subcarrier blocks within the communication frequency band to the base station apparatus according to the received control information.

Antenna systems and methods for massive MIMO communication

Antenna systems and methods for Massive Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) (M-MIMO) communication are provided. Antennas systems include a M-MIMO transmitter architecture with a hybrid matrix structure. The hybrid matrix structure protects against transmit path component failures and ensures that a spatial rate of the M-MIMO transmitter is not degraded by the failures. Antenna systems and methods also include antenna selection schemes for selecting a subset of antennas from a plurality of antennas to transmit to a receiver.

Flexible MIMO resource allocation through cross-correlation nulling and frequency domain segmented receiver processing

An access node in a wireless communication network receives a transmission that includes first and second signals. The first and second signals may be layers of a multiple-input multiple-output transmission and may also be from first and second terminal nodes. The access node derives first and second local reference signals from the transmission received using first and second antennas and estimates channel transfer functions associated with the channel through with the transmission is received. Estimating the channel transfer function can include correlating at least a portion of an expected reference signal associated with the first signal with a corresponding portion of the first local reference signal and correlating at least a portion of an expected reference signal associated with the second signal with a corresponding portion of the second local reference signal. The expected reference signal portions used to estimate the channel transfer functions may be non-orthogonal.
