Variable gain amplifier and sampler offset calibration without clock recovery
Methods and systems are described for generating a time-varying information signal at an output of a variable gain amplifier (VGA), sampling, using a sampler having a vertical decision threshold associated with a target signal amplitude, the time-varying information signal asynchronously to generate a sequence of decisions from varying sampling instants in sequential signaling intervals, the sequence of decisions comprising (i) positive decisions indicating the time-varying information signal is above the target signal amplitude and (ii) negative decisions indicating the time-varying information signal is below the target signal amplitude, accumulating a ratio of positive decisions to negative decisions, and generating a gain feedback control signal to adjust a gain setting of the VGA responsive to a mismatch of the accumulated ratio with respect to a target ratio.
TERMINAL DEVICE, BASE STATION DEVICE, RETRANSMISSION METHOD, AND RESOURCE ALLOCATION METHOD
The present disclosure provides a terminal device that allows constraints on user allocation to be prevented and spread codes to be allocated in a scheduler when non-adaptive HARQ is employed using a PHICH. A codeword generator generates code words by encoding data, a layer mapping unit places each CW in one or a plurality of layers, a DMRS generator generates a reference signal for each layer in which a CW is placed by using any resource among a plurality of resources defined by a mutually orthogonal plurality of OCCs, and an ACK/NACK demodulator receives a response signal indicating a retransmission request. When a response signal requesting retransmission of only a CW placed in a plurality of layers is received, the DMRS generator uses each resource having the same OCC among the plurality of resources for the reference signals generated in the corresponding layers.
Memory decision feedback equalizer
A device includes a decoder configured to receive an input signal. The decoder is configured to also output a control signal based on the input signal. The device further includes an equalizer configured to receive a distorted bit as part of a data stream, receive the control signal, select a distortion correction factor based upon the control signal, apply the distortion correction factor to the distorted bit to offset inter-symbol interference from the data stream on the distorted input data to generate a modified value of the distorted bit, and generate a corrected bit based on the modified value of the distorted bit.
Apparatus, method and non-transitory, computer readable storage media for transmitting and receiving discontinuous time-frequency operation signals in a communication network
Examples relate to a transmit apparatus, a receive apparatus, a method for transmitting, a method for receiving and computer readable storage media for transmitting and/or receiving in a communication network. A transmit apparatus for transmitting discontinuous time-frequency operation, DTFO, signals in a communication network comprises a transmitter configured to transmit a DTFO signal comprising monitoring symbols and regular DTFO symbols in the communication network. The apparatus further comprises processing circuitry, which is coupled to the transmitter and configured to generate at least one monitoring symbol for transmission by the transmitter if a time gap of the DTFO signal between two sub-sequent regular DTFO symbols exceeds a first time threshold, wherein the at least one monitoring symbol is configured to enable frequency-domain equalizer, FEQ, adjustment at a receiver of the DTFO signal; and generate a training sequence for transmission by the transmitter if a time period between a last transmission of a monitoring or regular DTFO symbol and a sub-sequent transmission of a DTFO symbol exceeds a second time threshold, the training sequence comprising at least one monitoring symbol preceding a regular DTFO symbol.
Positioning of wireless devices
A method performed by a network node (10) for finding a direction to a wireless device (20) in a wireless communication network is provided. The method comprises the step (S1) of the network node transmitting reference signal pairs on at least one pair of correlated antennas. Each reference signal pair has a unique phase difference between the signals in the signal pair, and the unique phase differences of the reference signal pairs are distributed over a given angular interval. The method further comprises the step (S2) of the network node receiving from the wireless device, in response to each pair of reference signals, a respective indication of a preferred pre-coding matrix, and the step (S3) of the network node determining a direction to the wireless device based on the received indications, information representative of the phase differences of the reference signal pairs, and phase information related to the indicated preferred pre-coding matrices.
Clock data recovery with decision feedback equalization
Methods and systems are described for generating two comparator outputs by comparing a received signal to a first threshold and a second threshold according to a sampling clock, the first and second thresholds determined by an estimated amount of inter-symbol interference on a multi-wire bus, selecting one of the two comparator outputs as a data decision, the selection based on at least one prior data decision, and selecting one of the two comparator outputs as a phase-error decision, the phase error decision selected in response to identification of a predetermined data decision pattern.
TIMING RECOVERY WITH ADAPTIVE CHANNEL RESPONSE ESTIMATION
System and method of timing recovery for recovering a clock signal by using adaptive channel response estimation. The channel response estimation in the timing recovery loop is dynamically adapted to the current channel response that varies over time. More particularly, the channel estimation coefficients used in a channel estimator can be adapted based on an error signal representing the difference between a received signal at the timing recovery loop and an estimated signal output from a channel estimator. Further, to prevent undesirable interaction between the channel estimator and the overall timing recovery loop with respect to clock phase recovery, the adaptation of channel estimation can be controlled in terms of speed or time so as to reduce or eliminate the channel estimator's effect on clock phase correction.
