Self-checkout system

A self-checkout system including a cabinet supported by a floor, a tilt body coupled to a hinge and located inside the cabinet and a support body being slidably coupled to the tilt body. When the support body is located inside the cabinet, the tilt body is balanced about the hinge and the support body is spaced apart from the floor. When the support body is pulled outside the cabinet, a front of the tilt body is rotated about the hinge and the support body engages with the floor.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ANOMALY DETECTION IN SELF-CHECKOUT RETAIL ENVIRONMENTS

A system for anomaly detection in a self-checkout environment, comprising a processing unit for receiving transaction data from a self-checkout terminal: characterising an activity based on a set of features extracted from the received transaction data; defining a plurality of active intervals for each characterised activity; determining a meta-feature vector for each defined active interval of the plurality of active intervals; comparing each meta feature vector with a predefined set of vectors; and determining an anomaly based on the comparison.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING SCAN IRREGULARITIES AT SELF-CHECKOUT TERMINALS

A system for detecting a scan irregularity in scanning process during check-out at a retail store, includes an image receiving module for receiving a video stream of a scanning zone, an image processing module for detecting visual scan intervals in image frames of the video stream, and a decision module. The decision module is configured to process each detected visual scan interval, wherein a processed visual scan interval includes a valid scan action, wherein the valid scan action is a user action performed for scanning an item. The decision module is further configured to detect a scan irregularity in the check-out process, wherein the scan irregularity occurs when an item identified for scanning in a processed visual scan interval is absent in a list of scanned items generated by the scanner during corresponding interval, and provide an alert regarding the scan irregularity at a user computing device.

The base has multiple slots and a rear wall. The detachable wheeled seat includes a board and multiple wheels. The board has a front plate disposed above the base and a rear plate projecting over the rear wall. The front plate has multiple tabs extended downwardly and inserted in each slot. Each tab has a through hole. The wheels are mounted on a bottom of the rear plate. The fasteners are installed on a bottom of the base. Each fastener includes a movable pin. Each movable pin is attachable to and detachable from each through hole. Therefore, the support stand has the advantages of stability and saving space with detachable wheels.

FRAUD BEHAVIOR RECOGNITION DEVICE, CONTROL PROGRAM THEREOF, AND FRAUD BEHAVIOR RECOGNITION METHOD
20230297989 · 2023-09-21 ·

A detection device for detecting a fraud behavior of a customer at a point-of-sale (POS) terminal in a store, including a first interface circuit configured to receive a first image of the customer from a camera, a second interface circuit configured to receive a second image that is displayed on the POS terminal, and a processor configured to acquire one or more first images via the first interface circuit and determine one or more behaviors of the customer based on the acquired first images, acquire one or more second images via the second interface circuit and determine, based on the acquired second images, one or more operations that have been made by the customer on the POS terminal, and determine that one of the behaviors is fraudulent based on one or more of the operations that have been made by the customer before said one of the behaviors.

Transaction terminal with vertical weigh scale and methods of operation
11657683 · 2023-05-23 · ·

A transaction terminal includes a vertically integrated bagging weigh scale and a vertically integrated scanner. The scale includes two posts that extend horizontally out from the terminal and upon which a bag hangs. Items placed in the bag cause displacement of the posts and/or pressure detected on the posts resulting in a recorded weight by a weight sensor of the scale. A current recorded weight of the bag is reported from the scale to the terminal during a transaction as each item is placed into the bag. The terminal uses the item weights to record prices for those items sold by weight and to verify that items scanned by the scanner and placed in the bag have expected weights for those items.

DISPLAY WITH INTEGRATED CAMERAS

A display includes two-integrated cameras. A first camera is situated in a top right corner of a front display surface of the display and a second camera is situated in a top left corner of the front display surface. The display is connected to a transaction terminal with the first camera focused on a bagging area associated with the transaction terminal and with the second camera focused on a staging area associated with the transaction terminal. Each camera captures images of items and the item images are streamed over a high-speed display port directly to the transaction terminal. The transaction terminal performs item recognition, item tracking, and auditing on the items based the item images during transaction processing at the transaction terminal.
