Method for transmitting and receiving frame, and wireless device implementing the same method

A method for transmitting a frame is provided by a device in a wireless communication network. The device compensates a carrier frequency using a value of carrier frequency offset (CFO), and transmits a frame with the compensated carrier frequency to a receiver. The value of the CFO is indicated in TXVECTOR. A method for transmitting a frame is provided by a device in a wireless communication network. The device allocates data tones for a last symbol based on a payload size, generates the last symbol having repeated waveforms and transmits a frame including at least one period waveform of the repeated waveforms in the last symbol.

Methods and systems for I/Q mismatch calibration and compensation for wideband communication receivers may comprise receiving a plurality of radio frequency (RF) channels, downconverting the received plurality of received RF channels to baseband frequencies, determining and removing average in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) gain and phase mismatch of the downconverted channels, determining a phase and amplitude tilt of the downconverted channels with removed average I and Q gain and phase mismatch, and compensating for said phase and amplitude tilt I and Q gain and phase mismatch of the downconverted channels. The determined phase tilt may be compensated utilizing a phase tilt correction filter, which may comprise one or more all-pass filters. The average I and Q gain and phase mismatch may be determined utilizing a blind source separation (BSS) estimation algorithm.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for demodulation in a wireless communications system transmitted across a wireless communications channel. The described wireless receiver includes a first antenna for receiving a wireless signal including a symbol transmitted across a wireless communications channel perceived by the first antenna, an observation modifier for generating a modified observation (y) of the symbol based on a product of the received observation (r) and the complex conjugate of a channel estimate (h*), a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) module generating log-likelihood ratios (LLRs) based on the modified observation and the channel estimate, and a maximum-likelihood-based decoder for decoding the symbol based on the LLRs.

Dynamic range extension of heterodyne fiber-optic interferometers via instantaneous carrier measurement

A method of dynamic range extension for heterodyne fiber-optic Interferometers, and more particularly towards the use of instantaneous carrier to extend the dynamic range of heterodyne fiber-optic interferometers. The method includes the providing of a heterodyne fiber-optic interferometer having a demodulator and an associated carrier frequency. The method also includes the determining of demodulator excessions. The detecting of the demodulator excessions and the determining of an appropriate correction factor is based on information from the instantaneous carrier frequency. The method also includes the introduction of the appropriate correction factor to the demodulator.

Digital I/Q reprocessing demodulator (DIRD)

A digital I/Q reprocessing demodulator and a process for significantly reducing arctangent computational loads. This is done by ensuring that all calculations are carried out in the linear part of the curve. The architecture of the demodulator is such that the demodulator 100 utilizes two I/Q stages. The first stage is utilized to determine a phase offset with regards to the free-running I/Q clocks. In the second processing stage, the phase of the I/Q reference signals are phase shifted based on the initial estimate such that the incoming carrier signal is nearly in-phase.
