FOODWARE SYSTEM HAVING VISUAL STIMULATING, SENSING AND/OR DATA PROCESSING COMPONENTS
An active foodware system includes a dining plate unit that provides visual stimuli by having a power source and a visual stimulating component to provide light emanating from the dining plate unit. Other devices can provide auditory and haptic stimuli, as well as sensing and processing. The dining plate unit can be a single component where the device and circuitry are all contained in the unit and protected from water, or can be two components: an upper translucent dining plate, and an underplate comprising the devices and circuitry for directing light through the upper translucent dining plate.
Container sleeve apparatus and method of using same
A container sleeve apparatus includes an arcuate or cylindrical body that can be positioned on a cylindrical or conical container, such as a tumbler, cup, can or bottle. A transparent or translucent insert section that can be releasably attached to the sleeve body. The sleeve body can be made of a non-slip, elastic material, such as neoprene rubber. The insert section can be made of plastic, and can include a logo printed or engraved thereon. The apparatus can include a light emitting device that illuminates the transparent/translucent insert section.
Dining plate system sensing food characteristics, sending data to the internet, and displaying information on a handheld communication device
A dining plate active foodware system senses food characteristics, such as weight and calories. Removable dining plates are placed on an underplate comprising sensing and wireless communication components. The system may include a camera. Data related to the food is sent to the internet as well as displayed on the visual stimulating component of a handheld communication device, such as a mobile phone. Auditory and haptic stimuli may also be provided.
Dining utensil having stimulating, sensing, and communication components
A dining utensil includes a stimulating component, a sensing component, and a communication component to enhance a dining experience. The stimulating component includes one or more light sources, which may be different colors. The utensil has a processor with the computer program configured to activate the stimulating component to illuminate the eating portion of the utensil, which may display an image or video. The stimulating component may be optically coupled with a light guide to provide lighted bands, portions, and patterns. The sensing component senses a food condition, and may be configured to activate the stimulating component. The communication component provides wireless communication with a mobile phone and the internet.
MULTI-COLOR MODULAR LIGHTING SYSTEM AND MULTI-EXPRESSION LIGHTING MODULE WITH SENSOR
A light emitting system for an article includes a switch that manually selects from multiple modes of operation for lights. The article may be a toy, slumber bed, backpack, wearable article, or light emitting system for receiving a container. One mode provides illumination and a second mode provides flashing and/or multicolor effects. Another lighting system includes a lighting module with a lighting circuit having a motion switch or other type of sensor, an electronic switch, a biasing circuit, and a plurality of multi-color lights that change color. An article has a recess for receiving the lighting module. The controller controls different lamps disposed in regions of the lighting module based on movement or other external factor or force detected by the sensor. The regions include indicia that provide changing facial expressions by operating different lamps when detection of motion occurs repeatedly within predetermined time periods.
DAMAGE RESISTANT GLASSWARE APPARATUS
A damage resistant glassware apparatus which includes a fluid container having a rim at a top end and a base at a bottom end, the fluid container constructed of a glass material, the rim to define an opening to a storage cavity within the fluid container, a first protective insert coupled to and integrally formed with the rim, and a second protective insert coupled to and integrally formed with the bottom end, wherein the first and second protective inserts are constructed of a non-glass material.
