An active foodware system includes a visual-stimulating component for displaying information related to a plurality of sensing components, such as load cells, sensing weight of food on respective dining surfaces of supporting dining plates. A mechanical structure supports and positions the dining plates in a constrained relationship to each other, and cavities in the mechanical structure may unattachedly mate with the dining plates. A wireless communication component wirelessly sends weight data to the visual-stimulating component, such as a mobile phone or tablet computer. The system is configured to determine calories of the food, and the system may include a camera for sensing the food or a diner. The visual-stimulating component may display information other than information provided by a scale, and auditory and haptic stimuli may also be provided.

A dining plate unit includes a visual stimulating component to provide light emanating from the dining plate unit, means for sensing various conditions related to the dining plate, and/or means for wirelessly communicating the sensed data, means for wirelessly transferring power, or means for generating sound. The dining plate unit can be a single component where the device and related circuitry are all contained in the unit, or it can be at least two components: an upper translucent dining plate, and a mating underplate including the devices and circuitry for directing light through the upper translucent dining plate.
Smart container with interactive, colored lights
A smart container that includes a bottle or other container, a load cell, an accelerometer, a processor, and a colored light source. The container may be a liquid container, a pill container, or a food container. The colored light source may include one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs) which can be programed to emit unique illumination patterns. The container may also include a speaker or motor to emit audio and vibrational notifications. The container provides a method of tracking consumption by a user of a substance held in a container.
Portable system for dispensing controlled quantities of additives into a beverage
A portable, self-contained beverage apparatus includes a container assembly having a known storage capacity for storing a consumable liquid, and a dispensing assembly disposed within the container assembly that dispenses variable, non-zero quantities of additives into the consumable liquid. The dispensing assembly includes multiple apertures structured and arranged to retain vessels containing the additives to be dispensed into the consumable liquid. The beverage apparatus also includes a level sensor disposed within the container assembly that determines a consumable liquid level of the consumable liquid stored in the container assembly. In certain embodiments, one or more positive displacement pumping mechanisms are configured to pump additive liquid from additive containers into a beverage chamber. The invention discloses a portable beverage vessel, comprising: a bottom portion; a wall extending from the bottom portion, wherein a upper portion of the wall forms an opening through which beverage can be poured into or out of the portable beverage vessel; a first container element; a second container element, wherein a cavity is formed between the first container element and the second container element; and a display device positioned in the cavity and having a display element for displaying information; wherein the first container element can be at least a part of the bottom portion and/or at least a part of the wall; wherein the second container element can be at least a part of the bottom portion and/or at least a part of the wall; and wherein the first container element and the second container element comprise at least one of the following: glass; ceramics; SiO.sub.2; wherein the first container element and the second container element are connected by at least one of welding, laser welding, infrared welding, infrared laser welding and welding by an infrared laser emitting pulses of a duration shorter than 1 psec.
Drinking vessel monitor
A drinking vessel monitor in the form of a lid with a protective disc of rigid material and a depending skirt. A key operated mechanical linkage is connected to contact members underlying the protective disc. Springs cause the contact members to pivot outwardly upon removal of the lid from a drinking vessel. Without the key to operate the mechanical linkage, the contact members hidden within the skirt cannot be retracted sufficiently to place the lid back on the drinking vessel. Optionally, an electrical circuit can be added with a signal generator which generates a visual or audible signal if tampering has occurred.

A receptacle having a programmable, interactive visual display affixed to a surface of the receptacle. The receptacle includes the visual display, a programmable memory, and a controller. The memory stores data corresponding to one or more display images and/or text, and the controller controls the display for displaying the image/text data from the memory. The receptacle may further include an input mechanism for receiving at least one input, and the controller may control the display of images/text data in response to the input. The memory can also store at least one game or other program, and the controller can execute the game or other program from the memory, operate the game or other in response to one or more inputs received via the input mechanism, and control the display based on the requirements of the game or other programs. The display may include an audio component for producing audible sound.

ILLUMINATED BABY BOTTLE DEVICE AND METHOD
An illuminated baby bottle device including a cap, a nipple, a body configured to retain a liquid, and a base. The body includes an inner-wall and an outer-wall. The nipple is affixable and sealed to the cap, and the protective-cover is also affixable to the cap to protect the nipple and maintain sanitary conditions of the nipple, where the cap is affixable to one end of the body. The base is affixable to the body on the opposing end from the cap. Base is affixable to the body, with the base including a power-supply and an audio-source configured to provide an audio-track. The body includes a light-source arranged between the inner-wall and the outer-wall configured to illuminate the baby bottle device. The light-source includes multiple colors and is illuminated by at least one light-emitting-diode.
DECANTER ASSEMBLY
