A method and device for data shunting and related to communications are provided. The method includes: determining, by the first network device of the first network, the second Quality of Service parameter of the second network according to the first Quality of Service parameter of data to be transmitted in the first network; transmitting, by the first network device, some or all of data to be transmitted to the second network device of the second network according to the second Quality of Service parameter. According to the application, the shunted data can be transmitted in the shunting network based on appointed Service Quality, thereby the requirements for the Service Quality can be satisfied, and the reliability of data transmission and the system resource utilization are increased.

Shared storage model for high availability within cloud environments

Techniques are provided for a high availability solution (e.g., a network attached storage (NAS) solution) with address preservation during switchover. A first virtual machine is deployed into a first domain and a second virtual machine is deployed into a second domain of a computing environment. The first and second virtual machines are configured as a node pair for providing clients with access to data stored within an aggregate comprising one or more storage structures within shared storage of the computing environment. A load balancer is utilized to manage logical interfaces used by clients to access the virtual machines. During switchover, the load balancer preserves an IP address used to mount and access a data share of the aggregate used by a client.

Differentiated routing system and method

A differentiated routing system is provided for routing a communication service according to an access point of a subscriber terminal to a first network domain. The system includes a computing system executing a core routing engine (CRE) that receives a request for a communication service from the subscriber terminal. When the communication service is to be routed to a second network domain, the CRE identifies an access point at which the subscriber terminal accesses the first network domain, includes a tag in the request according to the identified access point. The tag includes information to be used by the second network domain for routing the communication service. The CRE then transmits the request to the second network domain.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING POLICY SELECTION IN A NETWORK

Disclosed are systems and methods for providing policy selection in a software defined network. An example method includes registering, by an enterprise controller on an enterprise domain, in a shared mapping system on a service provider domain, one or more entries specifying one or more services for one or more classes of traffic to yield registered entries, reading, by a service provider controller, from the shared mapping system, the registered entries, posting, by the service provider controller, the one or more entries to one or more routing tables at a software-defined wide area network of the service provider domain and receiving a request, by a mobile node on the enterprise domain, of a specific service for a particular class of packets according to a classification of the particular class of packets based on a particular label defined in the registered entries for the specific service.

HIGH-ASSURANCE MULTI-DOMAIN NETWORK SWITCH

Embodiments for a method of implementing multiple domains in a network switching device are disclosed. The method includes assigning a plurality of hardware ports to a plurality of domains. Ports are assigned to at least two of the plurality of domains, and none of the ports are concurrently assigned to multiple domains. The method also includes loading rules for forwarding packets between the plurality of ports into a data plane. The rules direct the data plane to forward only between ports in a common domain of the plurality of domains. The method also includes assuring that a packet received at any port assigned to a first domain is not sent in legible form from any port assigned to a second domain if an error causes the data plane to forward or request forwarding the packet to any port assigned to a second domain.

A device for managing inter-domain communications of a network node assigned to the device within a software-defined production network system is suggested. The software-defined production network system includes a plurality of subnets, each subnet being associated with one domain and including a plurality of network nodes. The device includes an internal communication control unit for controlling communication of the network node with a network node in the same subnet by communicating with an intra-domain control unit and includes a gateway communication control unit for controlling communication of the network node with a network node of another subnet by communicating with an inter-domain control unit adapted to control resources in the software-defined production network system.

Embodiments of this application relate to a communication resource release method and apparatus. The method includes: first, receiving, by a first network element of a first communications network, a first removal request for a service data flow from a second network element; and then deleting, based on the first removal request, a first QoS parameter that corresponds to the service data flow and that is of the first communications network and a second QoS parameter that corresponds to the service data flow and that is of a second communications network. In this way, a communication resource release solution can be provided.

A method may include receiving a first message requesting a change associated with an Ethernet service that includes routing data from a user device to a destination device via a first service provider and a second service provider. The method may also include determining, by the first service provider, whether resources are available in a first network associated with the first service provider to fulfill the requested change and determining, by the second service provider, whether resources are available in a second network associated with the second service provider to fulfill the requested change. The method may further include sending a second indicating whether the change is accepted and in response to determining that the change is accepted, automatically implementing the change for the Ethernet service.

Network bandwidth reservations for system traffic and virtual computing instances
10693806 · 2020-06-23 · ·

Virtual computing instances are provisioned with network resource allocation constraints, which may include hard constraints that must be met in order for the virtual computing instances to be created in a host server. Network resources from multiple hosts may be pooled in a virtual switch, and a cloud management system (CMS) may ensure that a network bandwidth reservation for a new virtual computing instance can be accommodated by network bandwidth in the pool that is reserved for communication endpoint traffic. In addition to such CMS-level constraint enforcement, techniques disclosed herein may also enforce network bandwidths constraints at the host level to guarantee that network bandwidth reservation requirements for communication endpoint(s) of a new virtual computing instance can be satisfied by a particular host before creating the virtual computing instance in that host.
