OFFERING MEDIA SERVICES THROUGH NETWORK EDGE
An apparatus includes a communication interface and a processor operably coupled to the communication interface. The communication interface receives, from an application provider, a signaling message for provisioning into a network-based media processing (NBMP) workflow manager. The processor assumes a role of the NBMP workflow manager. The processor also communicates with an edge configuration server and an edge enabler server in an edge network to determine functionality of edge media application functions in the edge network. The processor further provisions at least one media application function as at least one media processing entity in a workflow. In addition, the processor instructs a media source to provide content for processing to the at least one media processing entity and instructs the at least one media processing entity in the workflow to provide the processed content to a user equipment (UE).
Media content management
Embodiments include a system comprising a gateway that includes a processor coupled to sensors and/or network devices installed at a premises. The system includes a remote server coupled to the gateway and located remote to the premises. The gateway and/or the remote server includes data of the sensors and/or network devices. The system includes an application running on at least one of the gateway and the remote server. The application controls events corresponding to the data and/or the premises in response to content of the data. The system includes a client interface coupled to the gateway and/or the remote server. The client interface presents the data to client devices.
METHODS CIRCUITS DEVICES SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED MACHINE EXECUTABLE INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRANSPORTING PACKETIZED DATA ACROSS A CELLULAR COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
Disclosed is a communication network having at least one network access segment including one or more network access points, wherein a selective packet bridge appliance integral or otherwise functionally associated with the at least one network access segment, is adapted to selectively shunt packet flow between two or more mobile communication devices communicatively coupled to the at least one network access segment through access points of the at least one network segment, and wherein a packet is selected for shunting at least partially based on an intended destination of the packet and at least partially based on a payload type of the packets.
Internet protocol television audio and video calling
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium in a media controller having computer instructions to execute a soft-phone client application on the media processor, receive an audio call or a video call originating from an IP Multimedia Subsystem network where the calls are directed to the media processor by a gateway having a switch that routes the audio call or video call in accordance with a destination address included in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) header message, and selectively answer one of the audio call or the video call. The computer instructions can be operable to present an audio portion of the audio call through a speaker of a presentation device when an audio call is answered. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Media playback system control via cellular network
An example implementation involves a media playback system that includes one or more playback devices that are controllable by the mobile device while the mobile device is joined to the media playback system. The mobile device may join the media playback system over one or more communication paths via a cellular network from the mobile device to the media playback system. The example implementation may involve detecting that the mobile device is outside of a threshold proximity to the media playback system while the mobile device is joined to the media playback system. Based on detecting that the mobile device is outside of the threshold proximity to the media playback system, the mobile device may disconnect from the media playback system.
Method and apparatus for facilitating accessing home surveillance data by remote devices
Method and apparatus for facilitating accessing home surveillance device data, preferably an IP camera video stream, by a remote user device at the remote user device's instigation, over the Internet through a home router, the facilitating including incorporating a smart gateway in local communication with the home router and in persistent or intermittent communication with a remote Internet server to facilitate communication of data over the Internet at the remote user device's request through direct communication between the remote user device and the smart gateway, the smart gateway in local communication with the home surveillance device such as an IP camera, the direct communication facilitated by a “hole punch” type of technique.
Extension Mobility for Analog Telephones
According to some embodiments, a method performed by a software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) controller communicably coupled to a voice gateway comprises determining a user profile from one or more stored user profiles is to be associated with an analog telephone and transmitting the user profile to the voice gateway. In particular embodiments, the SD-WAN controller may receive a request to associate the analog telephone with a user from the voice gateway.
Consuming fragments of time-associated data streams
Disclosed are various embodiments for consuming fragments of time-associated data streams. A streaming gateway receives a request from a consumer via a network to obtain a stream of time-associated data. The gateway determines that a first fragment of the stream of time-associated data is stored in a data store. The first fragment is obtained from the data store and sent to the consumer via the network. The gateway determines that the stream of time-associated data is currently being received by an endpoint from a producer. A second segment of the stream is obtained from the endpoint and sent to the consumer via the network.
