NEUTRAL HOST EDGE SERVICES
Systems and methods may be used to provide neutral host edge services in an edge network. An example method may include generating a virtual machine for a communication service provider at a compute device. The method may include receiving a user packet originated at a user device associated with the communication service provider and identifying dynamic route information related to the user packet using the virtual machine corresponding to the communication service provider. Data may be output corresponding to the user packet based on the dynamic route information.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND ENTITY FOR A MEDIA TRANSFER SESSION IN AN IMS INFRASTRUCTURE
There is provided a mechanism for having an operator of an IP network that is applied for transferring the media transfer session stream for an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, call to relate this stream to a specific operator of the home-network of the calling party User Equipment. By having, e.g., a Session Border Gateway, SBG, insert a specific signature, associated with the operator sourcing the media transfer session for the calling party UE, into the path carrying the media transfer session stream, the operator of the IP transport network is, by discovery of the specific signature, and its characteristics enabled to discover the operator sourcing the media transfer session.
Method of transferring audiovisual data and corresponding device
A solution for transferring audiovisual data between devices is provided. A device, for example a guest device, wishes to transfer audiovisual data to a device in a host local network. The guest device connects to a server in a wide area network via the host local network. The guest device selects, via its connection to the server and from a list, provided by the server, of devices in the host local network, a device present in the host local network. The guest device retrieves via the list connection parameters for transferring audiovisual data to the selected device. The guest device connects to the selected device in the host local network using the retrieved connection parameters and transfers audiovisual data to the selected device.
NETWORK SLICING MANAGEMENT FOR THE IP MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM (IMS) DOMAIN
Systems, methods, and software for selecting among a plurality of IMS network slices. When an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network is partitioned into a plurality of IMS network slices, an IMS slice selection manager may be implemented at an edge of the IMS network slices. The IMS slice selection manager receives an IMS slice selection policy, and receives an IMS service request for an IMS service. The IMS slice selection manager selects an IMS network slice to provide the IMS service based on the IMS slice selection policy, and causes routing of the IMS service request to the selected IMS network slice.
VoIP adapter for connecting landline phones to IP routers
Systems and methods for adapting traditional landline telephones to make and receive Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls and other communications are described. In some embodiments, an adapter, adaptor, or other device or apparatus connects an IP router, such as a WiFi router or other access point, to a traditional landline telephone (e.g., a phone using dual-tone multi-frequency, or DTMF, signaling), enabling the traditional landline phone to make and/or receive VoIP calls.
PROVIDING E911 SERVICE TO LANDLINE PHONES USING A VOIP ADAPTER
Systems and methods for providing E911 services to a publicly-switched telephone network (PSTN) phone are described. In some embodiments, the systems and methods determine that the PSTN phone is connected to a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) adapter, identify an internet protocol (IP) address for an access point via which the adapter accesses an IP Multimedia System (IMS) network, determine a geographical location associated with the IP address, and enable E911 communications for the PSTN phone over the IMS network via the adapter based on the geographical location.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND RELATED DEVICE FOR MANAGING MEDIA TRANSMISSION PATH
A method for managing a media transmission path includes: obtaining location information of a terminal; determining an application function user plane anchor device corresponding to the terminal, and an application function user plane edge device that has a minimum transmission delay, where the transmission delay is between the application function user plane edge device and the terminal; establishing media transmission paths between the application function user plane anchor device and the application function user plane edge device, and between the application function user plane edge device and the terminal; selecting a new application function user plane edge device when a location of the terminal changes; and handing over the terminal to the new application function user plane edge device. This method reduces a delay of a media transmission path, and can better meet a requirement of a delay sensitive service.
Virtual local loops
Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for implementing a high-quality Video over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network accessible through a public network, such as the Internet. More particularly, a user of a telecommunication network may access the VoIP through an Internet connection or other public network connection and is then connected to a virtual local loop for transmission across the VoIP. As such, the public network may act as an egress and/or ingress to the VoIP allowing users with public network connectivity access to the network. Thus, a virtual local loop providing the desired services and quality from the telecommunications network may be created for a user of the network, without the need of the user to directly connect into the VoIP.
Proximity synchronizing audio gateway device
A digital audio gateway device for use in a wireless network of digital audio playback devices. The gateway device is wirelessly linked to one or more digital audio playback devices to provide a gateway to the Internet for the digital audio playback devices. In addition to functioning as a gateway, the device provides additional functionality and may act as a cache of digital audio data for the various digital audio players connected in the wireless network and may also act to automatically update digital audio content on the audio players, synchronize digital audio content and playlists between the digital audio players and continue automatically or upon user request a particular playlist as the user moves from one digital audio player to another.
CODEC SELECTION FOR END-TO-END COMMUNICATION WITHOUT INTERMEDIATE TRANSCODING
In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for improving media quality at the network edge by encoding the media into a digital stream that is carried, end-to-end, to a peer edge device. For instance, in one example, a method includes initiating, by a first computing device, a connection to a second computing device, selecting, by the first computing device, a codec for encoding data into a data stream, wherein the codec is selected such that the data stream can be decoded by the second computing device without being transcoded by an intermediary, encoding, by the first computing device, the data into the data stream using the codec, and sending, by the first computing device, the data stream to the second computing device.
