METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING AN EMERGENCY CALL SERVICE IN AN IP MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM SESSION DURING HANDOVER
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to facilitate the handover from a packet switched network to a circuit switched network while an Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) session is ongoing. In the context of a method, a notification is received of the handover from a packet switched network to a circuit switched network while an IMS session is ongoing. The method also receives an indication that an emergency call service is active in the IMS session and determines that media resources in the circuit switched network are required to support the emergency call service, as supplemented by a minimum set of emergency related data, that is active in the IMS session. The method may further include causing the media resources to be reserved in the circuit switched network to support the emergency call service that is active in the IMS session.
Data communication
A method of establishing a communications session for communication of data with respect to at least two user devices in a data communications network. A client-server connection request is received from at least one of the at least two user devices. Call party details of a telephone call are received. The telephone call involves at least a first telephony user device and a second telephony user device. The call party details include a first identity associated with the first telephony user device and a second identity associated with the second telephony user device. At least one of the first and second identities comprises a telephone dialing number. A separate communications session is established on the basis of the first and second identities received in the call party details.
Providing real-time voice communication between devices connected to an internet protocol network and devices connected to a public switched telephone network
Systems, methods, and apparatus for providing real-time voice communication between devices connected to an Internet Protocol (IP) network and devices connected to a public switched telephone network (PSTN). In one implementation, the system includes a computer-controlled switch for connection to a local PSTN, for receiving calls from the IP network and the PSTN, and for routing calls to the PSTN and the IP network; and gate interface circuitry connected to the switch and adapted for connection to the IP network. The gate interface circuitry includes gateway circuitry for interfacing the IP network and PSTN voice circuits, and gatekeeper circuitry for performing address translation, admission control, bandwidth management, and zone management. The switch stores at least one PSTN destination address and at least one IP network destination address for each subscriber. The switch routes an incoming call to any one of the destination addresses stored for the subscriber.
Redirecting packets in an autonomous system
A symmetric flow response path from an Autonomous System (AS) can be forced by using a same edge gateway for ingress and egress of communications with an Internet source. An asymmetric flow response path from an AS can be used by using different edge gateways for ingress and egress of communications with an Internet source. An anycast IP address can be used for selecting egress edge gateways of an AS. Packets in an AS can be redirected to selected egress edge gateways of the AS.
IN-FLOW PACKET PRIORITIZATION AND DATA-DEPENDENT FLEXIBLE QOS POLICY
A method, operational at a device, includes receiving at least one packet belonging to a first set of packets of a packet flow marked with an identification value, determining that the at least one packet is marked with the identification value, determining to change a quality of service (QoS) treatment of packets belonging to the first set of packets marked with the identification value that are yet to be received, and sending a request to change the QoS treatment of packets belonging to the first set of packets marked with the identification value that are yet to be received to trigger a different QoS treatment of packets within the packet flow, responsive to determining to change the QoS treatment. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Trunking communication system, trunking server, access network and trunking communication method
A trunking communication system, a server, an access network and a trunking communication method are disclosed. The system includes a trunking management server and an access network, the trunking management server includes a trunking call service control module and a connected trunking call media gateway module, where: the trunking call media gateway module is configured to receive service data sent through the access network by a trunking UE, and forward the service data according to a communication type of the service data for implementing user plane communication of the trunking UE; and the trunking call service control module is configured to receive a communication request sent through the access network by a trunking UE, and perform call control and bearer management on the trunking UE according to a communication type of the communication request for implementing control plane communication of the trunking UE.
Methods, systems, and products for voice-over internet protocol calls
Network resources for a call are allocated. The network resources for the call are reserved based on a reservation. The network resources are reserved before any one network resource is committed. If the call is confirmed, then the network resources are committed.
METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING GROUP CONFERENCE COMMUNICATION
A method for performing a conference communication by an intelligent terminal running an operating system is disclosed. The method includes sending an access request via a conference link to a conference server the access request specifying a mapping character string and an operating system identifier of the operating system sunning in the intelligent terminal; receiving a protocol string from the conference server generated according to the mapping character string and the operating system identifier in the access request, the protocol string comprising a conference attendance credential; automatically initiating an instant message (IM) client in the operating system according to the protocol string; and sending an IM user identifier associated with the intelligent terminal and the conference attendance credential to for the conference server to add the IM user identifier to a temporary IM user group corresponding to the conference attendance credential and establishing an Internet channel for the temporary IM user group to perform the conference communication via the IM client.
Image processing apparatus, information processing method, and storage medium
A facsimile apparatus includes a determination unit configured to determine whether a transmission destination is a gateway that uses a protocol for performing fax communication in real time on the IP network, and a control unit configured to perform control, if the determination unit determines that the transmission destination is a gateway apparatus, to transmit a packet of a smaller size and add a smaller number of redundant packets compared to when the transmission destination is not a gateway apparatus.
Automatic call initiation in response to selecting tags in electronic documents and applications
The present invention provides a telecom control function in a communication terminal. The telecom control function is configured to receive call indicia when a call tag in a software entity, such as an application or electronic document, is selected by a user of the communication terminal. The call indicia provides information associated with a remote party with which a call is being requested by the user. The telecom control function may use the call indicia along with user indicia obtained from the user and indirectly establish a call with the remote party using a telephony terminal other than the communication terminal. If the communication terminal includes a telecommunication client capable of supporting a call, the telecom control function may instruct the telecommunication client to directly initiate the call with the remote party using the call indicia.
