System and method using peer-to-peer connections with ultra-wideband for an interaction
An apparatus for conducting an interaction through established connections using ultra-wideband comprises a processor associated with a server. The processor is configured to receive a request to initiate an interaction between a grouping and an entity device associated with an entity. The processor is further configured to receive user device information for each user device in the grouping based on universal device identifiers. The processor is further configured to determine an account associated with a user based on comparing the received user device information to the stored user device information. The processor is further configured to transmit the interaction to each user device within the grouping. In response to receiving a request from one of the user devices in the grouping to split the interaction, the processor is further configured to conduct at least a first part of a split interaction with the determined account associated with the user.
System providing faster and more efficient data communication
A system designed for increasing network communication speed for users, while lowering network congestion for content owners and ISPs. The system employs network elements including an acceleration server, clients, agents, and peers, where communication requests generated by applications are intercepted by the client on the same machine. The IP address of the server in the communication request is transmitted to the acceleration server, which provides a list of agents to use for this IP address. The communication request is sent to the agents. One or more of the agents respond with a list of peers that have previously seen some or all of the content which is the response to this request (after checking whether this data is still valid). The client then downloads the data from these peers in parts and in parallel, thereby speeding up the Web transfer, releasing congestion from the Web by fetching the information from multiple sources, and relieving traffic from Web servers by offloading the data transfers from them to nearby peers.
Network resources discovery system
A network resources discovery system regulates the automated discovery of available network resources using a network-enabled device to ensure that the network-enabled device only discovers the specific network resources which it is authorized to access. In use, a network resources discovery proxy includes a local controller which intermediates network resources discovery request and response packets transmitted between the network-enabled device and available network resources. By comparing the network resources discovery packets against a local, modifiable set of matching rules, the network resources discovery proxy is able to filter out the automated discovery of any types of services and devices provided by a computer network which the network-enabled device is not permitted to receive. By restricting the automated discovery of network resources in accordance with the local set of matching rules, the network resources discovery system provides an enhanced level of network security through the selective isolation of network devices.
METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR PROVIDING TETHERING SERVICE
A method and electronic device for providing a tethering service is provided. The electronic device of the present disclosure includes a communication interface comprising communication circuitry and a processor configured to establish a direct connection with at least one external electronic device located in operable proximity of the electronic device using the communication interface, to check a predetermined input, to establish a session for connecting the at least one external device to at least one communication network via the electronic device based on the predetermined input, and to connect the at least one external electronic device to the at least one communication network via the electronic device during at least part of the direct connection session.
Communication apparatus, method of controlling communication apparatus, and program
The present invention is directed to a communication apparatus that can notify other communication apparatuses that do not receive a multicast signal, of information on a function provided by the communication apparatus when the communication apparatus sends the multicast signal to notify the information on the function provided by the communication apparatus. The communication apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention sends a unicast packet containing the information about the function together with the multicast packet to another communication apparatus which does not receive the multicast packet, but does not send the unicast packet together with the multicast packet to another communication apparatus determined as receiving the multicast packet.
Method and system for accelerated on-premise content delivery
In various embodiments, methods and systems for accelerating on-premise delivery of content items using a unified content delivery network system are provided. A request is received from a content device for a content item. The request is communicated using a content delivery network protocol where the content delivery network protocol supports a unified content delivery network profile between content devices, local off-net cache devices, and content delivery network platform servers. A determination that the content item is not cached at a local off-net cache device is made, where the local off-net cache device is identified in the unified content delivery network profile as corresponding to one or more content devices. A retrieval routine for downloading the content item to the content device is selected; the retrieval routine is selected using the unified content delivery network profile. The content item is retrieved to the content device using the selected retrieval routine.
Network-assisted peer discovery
Techniques for performing network-assisted peer discovery to enable peer-to-peer (P2P) communication are described. In one design, a device registers with a network entity (e.g., a directory agent) so that the presence of the device and possibly other information about the device can be made known to the network entity. The network entity collects similar information from other devices. The device sends a request to the network entity, e.g., during or after registration. The request includes information used to match the device with other devices, e.g., information about service(s) provided by the device and/or service(s) requested by the device. The directory agent matches requests received from all devices, determines a match between the device and at least one other device, and sends a notification to perform peer discovery. The device performs peer discovery in response to receiving the notification from the network entity.
Method and apparatus for supporting proximity discovery procedures
A method and apparatus are described for supporting a two-stage device-to-device (D2D) discovery using a D2D interworking function (IWF). A D2D IWF component may be configured to perform mapping between an application running on an application server and a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network, and provide a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to allow discovery to be provided as a service to D2D applications. An application identifier may be mapped to a 3GPP identifier. Further, a method and apparatus are described for performing client-server discovery. A first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured for a listen-only operation, and a second WTRU may be configured to transmit beacons. The first and second WTRUs may perform a radio access network (RAN) discovery procedure at an access stratum (AS) layer. A method and apparatus for performing charging for D2D service using a D2D IWF are also described.
Techniques for multi-standard peer-to-peer connection
Techniques for multi-protocol peer-to-peer connection are described. An apparatus may comprise a discovery component to discover a remote device using a first protocol, and receive discovery information from the remote device, the discovery information including protocol information. The apparatus may comprise an authentication component to authenticate the remote device. The apparatus may comprise a connection component to establish a peer-to-peer connection with the remote device using a second protocol based on the protocol information. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
SHARING PROTECTED USER CONTENT BETWEEN DEVICES
Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems and methods for sharing encrypted information among multiple devices. A peer-to-peer connection between a first computing device associated with a user account and a second computing device associated with the user account is established. Information associated with at least a portion of a file system of the second computing device may be received by the first computing device, where the portion of the file system comprises encrypted data. The portion of the file system of the second computing device may be mounted on the first computing device based on the received information.
