20170366508 · 2017-12-21 · ·

Techniques to use operating system redirection for network stream transformation operations are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a network stream component operative to receive a network stream, the network stream associated with an application on a device; modify the network stream to generate a modified network stream; and send the modified network stream through an operating system for the device; and a local virtual private network component operative on the processor circuit to: receive the modified network stream from the operating system as a plurality of modified network stream packets; determine a network connection policy based on the application; and send the plurality of modified network stream packets to a destination network address via the network interface controller when the network connection policy indicates sending. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Data Anonymization for Distributed Hierarchical Networks
20170366513 · 2017-12-21 ·

Various implementations disclosed herein provide a method for anonymizing data in a distributed hierarchical network. In various implementations, the method includes determining a first set of attribute hierarchy counts that indicate a number of occurrences of corresponding attributes that are stored at the first network node and have not been transmitted upstream towards the hub. In various implementations, the method includes receiving, from a second network node, a second set of attribute hierarchy counts that indicate a number of occurrences of corresponding attributes at the second network node. In various implementations, the method includes determining whether a sum based on the first and second set of attribute hierarchy counts satisfies an anonymization criterion. In some implementations, the sum indicates a total number of occurrences for a corresponding attribute that are stored at the first and second network nodes and have not been transmitted upstream towards the hub.

ESTABLISHING UNTRUSTED NON-3GPP SESSIONS WITHOUT COMPROMISING SECURITY

Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for establishing sessions over a network. A query can be sent, from a mobile device to an authoritative DNS server, requesting a session over a network. In response to the query, a list of available communication protocol options can be received from the authoritative DNS server. A specific communication protocol can be selected from the list of available communication protocol options, where the specific communication protocol is selected based on one or more performance metrics. A connection with a gateway device can then be initiated using the selected specific communication protocol.

Generating Multi-Perspective Responses by Assistant Systems

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a user query inputted on a head-mounted device from the head-mounted device, wherein the user query corresponds to multiple dialog-intents, executing multiple tasks corresponding to the multiple dialog-intents, generating a multi-perspective response by a stitching model based on two or more of execution results of the multiple tasks, wherein the stitching model combines the two or more of the execution results based on natural language processing, and wherein the multi-perspective response comprises a natural-language response combining the two or more execution results, and sending instructions to the head-mounted device for presenting the multi-perspective response on the head-mounted device.

On-premise data collection and ingestion using industrial cloud agents

A cloud agent facilitates collection of industrial data from one or more data sources on the plant floor and migration of the collected data to a cloud platform for storage and processing. Collection services associated with the cloud agent perform on-premise data collection of historical, live, and/or alarm data directly from industrial devices networked to the agent or from intermediate data concentrators that gather the data from the devices. Queue processing services executed by the cloud agent package the data into a data packet comprising header information that identifies a customer associated with the industrial enterprise, processing priority information, and other information that informs data processing services on the cloud platform how to process and/or direct the incoming data. The cloud agent then establishes a communication channel to the cloud platform and sends the data via the channel.

Managing data acquisition

A method for efficiently acquiring data from a plurality of proximate devices including a mobile ad-hoc network (manet); selecting one of the mobile devices as a harvest node to transmit data to a repository for storing data; responsive to detecting a first data stream and a second data stream from a respective first mobile device and a second mobile device, determining that the data from the first and second data streams have a threshold similarity; utilizing a node in the manet to compress portions of the first data stream and the second data stream to produce a compressed data stream according to a first compression technique, wherein data from the first data stream and the second data stream are present in the compressed data stream; and transmitting the compressed data stream to the repository by the harvest node.

Reducing retrieval times for compressed objects

An intermediary system reduces a delay associated with the compression and transmission of content resources to a user's device. For example, the intermediary system compresses a first content resource, generates a signature of the first content resource, stores the compressed first content resource and the generated signature, and transmits the compressed first content resource to the user's device. When the user's device or another user's device requests a second content resource at a later time, the intermediary system generates a signature of the second content resource and compares it with the signature of the first content resource. If the signatures match (meaning the first and second content resources are very likely identical), then the intermediary system merely transmits the compressed first content resource to the appropriate device instead of first compressing the second content resource and then transmitting the compressed second content resource to the appropriate device.
