A portable computing device is disclosed. The portable computing device can take many forms such as a laptop computer, a tablet computer, and so on. The portable computing device can include at least a single piece housing. The single piece housing including a plurality of steps. The plurality of mounting steps are formed by at least removing a preselected amount of housing material at predetermined locations on the interior surface. At least some of the mounting steps are used to mount at least some of the plurality of internal operating components housing.

A battery pack housing structure is used for an electronic apparatus including a housing portion for housing a battery pack and a battery cover for covering the housing portion. The battery pack, the housing portion, and the battery cover comprise battery-pack side-surface protruding portions, housing-portion side-surface protruding portions, and cover lower-surface protruding portions, respectively. Before the battery pack is positioned at a mounting position in the electronic apparatus, the battery pack is positioned at a pre-mounting position. When the battery cover is mounted, the battery pack is pushed from the pre-mounting position to the mounting position. The battery-pack side-surface protruding portions, the housing-portion side-surface protruding portions, and the cover lower-surface protruding portions are engaged, and movement of the battery pack in a terminal connection direction and movement of the battery pack from the lower surface toward the upper surface are thereby restricted.

COLD WORKED METAL HOUSING FOR A PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A cold worked stainless steel bezel for a portable electronic device is provided. The bezel is secured flush to a housing to form part of the case of the portable electronic device. A brace that includes a slot for receiving a wall extending from the bezel is fixed to the housing. When the bezel engages the housing, the wall of the bezel is inserted in the slot of the brace and releasably held by a spring that engages both the brace and the wall. The bezel can be released by disengaging the spring, (e.g., using a special tool or a magnetic field). Because the bezel is manufactured from cold worked stainless steel, it is hard and resistant to impacts. Cold worked steel also facilitates manufacturing within design constraints and tolerances, and requires very little machining after manufacturing to comply with those constraints.

An electronic device may include a shell defining a plurality of positioning slots, a screen mounted in the shell, a screen protector connected to the shell and arranged at a periphery of the screen. The screen protector may be presented as a frame being made in one piece, a plurality of positioning pins may be arranged on the screen protector, each of the plurality of positioning pins may have an extending direction perpendicular to the screen and be engaged in a corresponding positioning slot. The screen protector may be configured to stretch or retract relative to the screen along a direction perpendicular to the screen under the guide of the plurality of positioning pins, such that the screen protector moves between a stretchable state and a retractable state.

An electronic device is described. The electronic device may include a shell, a screen mounted in the shell, a screen protector connected to the shell and arranged at a periphery of the screen and a controller received in the housing and electrically connected with a sensor configured to detect whether the is getting close toward an object at a speed greater than a preset value. An inner surface of the screen protector contacts with an outer side surface of the screen, the screen protector may be configured to stretch or retract relative to the screen such that the screen protector moves between a stretchable state and a retractable state. When the screen is getting close toward an object at the speed greater than the preset value, the controller may be configured to control the screen protector to stretch relative to the screen and be in the stretchable state such that the screen protector touches the object to protect the screen from touching the object.
