RESTORATION OF A MESSAGING APPLICATION
A computer implemented method is provided for restoring a device from a backup copy. If the device has a messaging application installed on the device, then a list of contacts for the messaging application on the device is extracted. A request is transmitted to each contact in the list of contacts, the request comprising a user id for the messaging application and a timestamp for the backup copy. One or more replies are received back from one or more of the contacts, each reply comprising messaging content, and the received messaging content is combined with content present in the messaging application on the device.
MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND METHOD THEREFOR
An input method for a mobile communication apparatus, and such a mobile communication apparatus, which comprises a processor and a touch sensitive display, is disclosed. The invention particularly comprises displaying a touch keypad comprising a set of keys, detecting an object over one key of said set of keys, and displaying, upon detection of said object, a first sub-set of keys adjacent to said one key, wherein said sub-set of keys is associated with a first set of sub-functions of said one key.
Audio call analysis
A device includes a communication interface, an input interface, and a processor. The communication interface is configured to receive an audio signal associated with an audio call. The input interface is configured to receive user input during the audio call. The processor is configured to generate an audio recording of the audio signal in response to receiving the user input. The processor is also configured to generate text by performing speech-to-text conversion of the audio recording. The processor is further configured to perform a comparison of the text to a pattern. The processor is also configured to identify, based on the comparison, a portion of the text that matches the pattern. The processor is further configured to provide the portion of the text and an option to a display. The option is selectable to initiate performance of an action corresponding to the pattern.
Method for providing human network management service in mobile terminal
Provided are a mobile terminal and method for providing a human network management service in the mobile terminal, the method including receiving human network data from a social network service site; checking and converting a schema of each received human network data into a predetermined schema; and updating human network data in the mobile terminal according to the converted schema.
Watch type mobile terminal and method for controlling the same
A method of controlling a watch-type mobile terminal including a bezel, the method includes executing a contact application stored in a memory; outputting a contact list on a display unit when the contact application is executed; sensing a touch input signal on the display unit, wherein the touch input signal is a drag touch input on the display unit in a first direction; scrolling the contact list to search for a specific contact regardless of the drag touch input's speed; sensing a rotation input on the bezel, wherein the rotation input is an input for rotating the bezel with a speed in a second direction, further the first direction is different from the second direction; and controlling a scroll pop-up for searching for the specific contact to be output on the contact list of the contact application if the speed of the rotation input is faster than a first predetermined speed.
COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
A communication method includes the steps of transmitting, by means of a first communication apparatus, personal information to a second communication apparatus; receiving, by means of the second communication apparatus, the personal information and searching, by means of the second communication apparatus, whether or not personal information having the same content as the received personal information exists in the second communication apparatus; and notifying, by means of the second communication apparatus, the first communication apparatus of a search result.
SMART ADDRESS BOOK SERVICE
A smart address book service configured to provide contextual information from a user's address book or contacts database so that when a user enters information into a device such as a smart phone, the service can correlate information from the contacts database with the user's entered information, look at additional context of what the user is doing/has done, and provide action options for the user to select. Thus, the service can discern what the user is likely trying to achieve based on contextual information provided by or through the smart phone, and pull corresponding data from the user's contacts database (on the user's equipment, e.g., smart phone, and/or from an address book associated with the user and stored on servers of the user's telecommunications service provider) as well as from the Internet to provide information necessary for the user to achieve the objective.
Mobile terminal and method of controlling operation of the same
This patent relates to a mobile terminal and a method of controlling an operation of the same. The method of controlling an operation of a mobile terminal includes displaying a file list and scroll arrows for scrolling the file list on a touch screen. When the scroll arrow is touched and entered, the file list is scrolled at a scroll speed previously set in response to a time when the scroll arrow is touched and entered. A vibration signal to identify at least one of a scroll speed and a current scrolling position of the file list is provided. Accordingly, when a file list is scrolled, a scroll speed or a current scrolling position can be easily identified by a tactile sense.
Techniques to manage contact records
Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for managing contact information received in the context of a messaging system. Messages may be received from known contacts which contain user contact records for third parties. Based on the trust relationship with the known contacts, the user contact record is placed in a contact record repository for later retrieval. When another message is received which either references the user contact record or is from the third party referenced in the user contact record, a dialog box is presented offering the user the opportunity to add the user contact record as an address entry in the address book of the device.
