METHOD FOR MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION USING BONE CONDUCTION AND AUDIO SIGNALS
Provided here are systems and method for two-way authentication of a user. In an embodiment, the method may include, in response to reception of an audio signal from a user, determining, via a smart device and/or authentication circuitry, whether a corresponding bone conduction signal is received from one of one or more separate wearable devices. The method may include, in response to determination that the corresponding bone conduction signal is received: determining, via the smart device and/or authentication circuitry, whether the audio signal and corresponding conduction signal are consistent. The method may include, in response to a determination that the audio signal and corresponding conduction signal are consistent: verifying, via the smart device, the audio signal; verifying, via the smart device, the corresponding bone conduction signal; and, in response to verification of the audio signal and the corresponding bone conduction signal, authenticating a user.

Method to Expedite Playing of Binaural Sound to a Listener
A method expedites processing and playing of binaural sound during an electronic communication between a first user and a second user. An electronic device of the first user convolves sound into binaural sound for the second user before the binaural sound transmits to the electronic device of the second user. In this way, the binaural sound is already convolved and ready to play upon receipt at the electronic device of the second user.
IN-EAR WIRELESS DEVICE
An in-ear listening device having a device housing including a speaker housing and an elongated tube protruding away from the speaker housing, an audio port formed through the speaker housing, a speaker disposed in the speaker housing and aligned to emit sound through the audio port, a microphone port formed through the elongated tube, a microphone disposed in the elongated tube and operatively coupled to receive sound through the microphone port, a rechargeable battery and a wireless antenna disposed within the device housing, wireless circuitry coupled to the wireless antenna and configured to input and output radio frequency signals for wireless communications, a user-interface touch control disposed on the device housing and operable to control a function of the earbud, and battery charging circuitry coupled to the rechargeable battery and positioned within the device housing and operable to charge the rechargeable battery when coupled to receive power from an external power source.
Socket monitoring
This applications relates to methods and apparatus for monitoring a socket (101), to detect a connection status of a mating plug (102), e.g. for monitoring an audio jack socket for connection of an audio jack plug. A monitor (115, 305) is configured to monitor a voltage (V.sub.M) at a monitoring node (114), which is coupled to a jack detect contact (112) of the socket and a voltage pull-up element (113). The voltage (V.sub.M) at the monitoring node (114) is monitored against a threshold (Vthv) and a threshold module (302) is configured to vary the threshold depending on an indication of signal activity (S.sub.ACT) of a signal path for a first socket contact (103) which will be electrically connected to the jack detect contact when a plug when inserted in the socket.
Retractable storage system
A retractable storage system for a handheld electronic device includes a protective housing member operative shaped and sized to bound the handheld electronic device and enable wrapping around the handheld electronic device. At least one accessory station structured is on the housing member, and has an aperture to arrest and dispense an accessory item. At least one storage chamber is structured on the housing member to store the accessory item. The protective housing member has a first housing part and a second housing part which combine to form one protective housing member.
CALL METHOD AND APPARATUS
Embodiments of this application disclose a call method and an apparatus. In the call method, when a user does not actively select an audio device as a voice pickup device and a voice play device, after establishing a call connection to another electronic device, an electronic device selects, from available audio devices, an audio device that meets a user expectation as the voice pickup device and the voice play device. According to technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application, user experience in a call process can be improved.
Earphone device and communication method
An earphone device, a communication device, a communication system and a communication method are described. The communication method comprises: collecting a local audio signal comprising a local ambient sound, and performing audio processing before transmission on the local audio signal to obtain a first audio signal when a local audio is allowed to be played and/or talking is allowed; performing audio processing before playback on the first audio signal to obtain a second audio signal, and playing the second audio signal when the local audio is allowed to be played; transmitting the first audio signal to an external device when the talking is allowed.
Systems and methods for accessory and impedance detection
Described herein are systems and methods for reliably detecting of the presence or absence of accessories and other components connected to an external electrical device or connector. A low-cost detection circuit reliably distinguishes between a compromised connector and the presence of an actual device, thereby, preventing false detection scenarios. In various embodiments, the detection circuit accomplishes this by using a zero-crossing detector and/or a digital signal, which serves as a measure of impedance, to detect, within an identification period, the presence of the external device.
