USER INTERFACES OF A HEARING DEVICE
Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and devices for dynamically adjusting a user interface provided by an external unit of a hearing device. In an example method, the external unit determines whether a state of the external unit is one of (i) a coupled state when the external unit and the stimulation unit are coupled or (ii) a decoupled state when the external and the stimulation unit are decoupled. The external unit then provides one of (i) a first user interface when the determined state is the coupled state or (ii) a second user interface when the determined state is the decoupled state.

CAPTIONING COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
A method to generate a contact list may include receiving an identifier of a first communication device at a captioning system. The first communication device may be configured to provide first audio data to a second communication device. The second communication device may be configured to receive first text data of the first audio data from the captioning system. The method may further include receiving and storing contact data from each of multiple communication devices at the captioning system. The method may further include selecting the contact data from the multiple communication devices that include the identifier of the first communication device as selected contact data and generating a contact list based on the selected contact data. The method may also include sending the contact list to the first communication device to provide the contact list as contacts for presentation on an electronic display of the first communication device.

SEMIAUTOMATED RELAY METHOD AND APPARATUS
A system includes a first user device configured to perform captioning session operations, a call-assistant (CA) device remote from the first user device, and a remote relay server separate from the CA device. The relay server initiates a captioning process, receives, from the first user device, a request to initiate a captioning session, establishes the session, assigns the session to the CA, receives first audio data from the first user device derived from a second user device, directs the first audio data to the CA device, receives, from the CA device, second audio data related to the first audio data and derived from CA speech, accesses an ASR engine trained to the CA voice, generates captioned text including a transcription of the second audio data, generates screen information including the transcription, directs the screen information to the CA device, and directs the captioned text to the first user device.

HEARING ACCOMMODATION
A method may include obtaining a first audio signal including first speech originating at a remote device during a communication session between the remote device and a communication device and obtaining a second audio signal including second speech originating at the communication device during the communication session between the remote device and the communication device. The method may also include obtaining a characteristic of the communication session from one or more of: the first audio signal, the second audio signal, and settings of the communication device and determining a hearing level of a user of the communication device using the characteristic of the communication session.
HEARING AID CONFIGURED TO BE OPERATING IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The invention relates to a communication system comprising a hearing aid, a communication unit, a relay server, a rule processing server, and at least one external device, wherein the rule processing server comprises a data communication interface to communicate with said relay server and with a plurality of external devices over a plurality of data communication channels, a rule processor, and a rule base comprising a set of rules, each rule defining an action to be triggered in response to a trigger event. Said rule processor is configured to generate an action request signal in response to an event signal representing a trigger event. Said action request signal is configured to cause an action of at least one of the hearing aid, the communication unit, the relay server or the external device, and wherein said action request signal carries information that designates at least one of said devices and at least one action to be performed of said at least one device. Said communication system further comprises an event detector that is configured to detect a trigger event and to generate the event signal in response to a detection of the trigger event.
Electronic device that limits electromagnetic emissions from multiple batteries
An electronic device, method, and computer program product enable limiting electromagnetic emissions from current between batteries. A first battery is positioned proximal to an earpiece speaker within the electronic device. At least one second battery is positioned at a different location within the electronic device that is not proximal to the earpiece speaker. A controller is electrically connected to a switch that is electrically connected in-line with the first battery. The controller selectively toggles the switch between first and second switches state. The controller initiates activation of a first software mode of the electronic device corresponding to operation of the earpiece speaker. In response to detecting the activation, the controller toggles the switch to the first switch state in which the switch limits current drawn from the first battery while the electronic device is in the first software mode, thus reducing baseband electromagnetic emissions emanating from the first battery.
