CLOUD BASED NAVIGATION FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEDESTRIANS
A pedestrian navigation system may include at least one vehicle sensor configured to acquire image data of an environment surrounding a vehicle, and a processor programmed to receive the image data, receive a pedestrian location from a user device associated with a pedestrian, determine if the image data indicates presence of an obstruction at the pedestrian location, and transmit instructions to issue an alert via the user device in response to the image data indicating the presence of the obstruction.
Method of Using an Automated Teller Machine, Method of Operating an Automated Teller Machine, Automated Teller Machine, Method of Operating a Mobile Phone, and a Mobile Phone
In various embodiments, there is provided a method of using an automated teller machine, wherein the ATM is coupled to a mobile phone of a user of the ATM via a Bluetooth low energy connection; a first string representative of what operating capabilities the ATM currently provides to the user is sent from the ATM to the mobile phone of the user via the Bluetooth low energy connection; and from the mobile phone, the first string is read to the user using a text-to-speech function, wherein based on the reading of the first string, the user knows what operating options the user currently has to use the ATM and can then use the ATM.
TACTILE WEARABLE
A tactile wearable device in a communication system, the tactile wearable device comprising: at least two switches arranged to receive first tactile information from user in a sequence, at least two tactile actuators arranged to provide second tactile information to a user in a sequence, and wireless communication means arranged to transmit information to and from a wireless device.
ADVANCED EYESIGHT DEVICE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
An eyesight device for the visually impaired comprises a case having a front, rear and side walls. An ultrasonic sensor is provided on at least the front wall although, preferably, ultrasonic sensors are provided on the front and side walls to provide a greater range of peripheral vision. A microcontroller within the case is coupled to the ultrasonic sensor. A power source energizes the microcontroller. An audible signal generating means is adapted to generate an audible signal. The microcontroller is programmed to receive the output of the ultrasonic sensor and computing the distance between the case and an obstacle spaced from the case and energize the audible signal generating means when the distance is less than a preselected threshold distance. Attaching means is provided for attaching the case to an item of clothing of the user to free the hands of the user.
COMBINED SMARTPHONE CASE AND KEYBOARD FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
The present invention relates to a smart phone case combination keyboard for the blind that includes: a cover main body having a mounting space to which a smart phone is mounted so as to expose a display unit on an upper surface, a plurality of lower key holes formed toward downward on a lower surface, and a front key hole respectively formed on a left and right of a surface toward frontward; a keyboard cover embedded in the main body, having a plurality of keys respectively protruded through the lower key holes and operated by a thumb of a hand gripping the cover main body as a first front key and a second front key are protruded through each of the front key holes; a communication module performing communication between the smart phone and the keyboard; and a controller that controls to perform pairing with the smart phone through the communication module and to transmit a key input signal of the keyboard to the smart phone through the communication by the communication module. According to the present invention, the smart phone may be stably gripped and the stable typing enable due to the keyboard arrangement on the lower surface while protecting the smart phone from external impact, and it is possible to provide the call mode along with the keyboard arrangement to enable the convenient use of the blind and improve the speed and accuracy of the typing through the use of the thumb that is not normally used for the typing, the unwanted separation may be prevented by the comfortable and stable gripping.
