Diagnostic traffic generation for automatic testing and troubleshooting

A framework in a cloud network that may allow for debugging at multiple vantage points at different layers (e.g., layer 2, layer 3, etc.). The methods may provide tracer or measurement services that filter, capture, or forward flows that may include packets, calls, or protocols to look for particular signatures.

Telephony equipment migration

A telephony equipment migration arrangement is provided. The telephony equipment migration arrangement includes legacy telephony equipment located in one or more equipment bays, at least one transport cable, with one or more connectors, to provide external carrier connectivity, replacement telephony equipment located in one or more equipment bays remote from the legacy telephony equipment, and at least one remote coupling cable, with one or more connectors, connected to the replacement telephony equipment. The connector(s) of the remote coupling cable are mounted in a location having a predetermined locational relationship with the equipment bay in which the legacy telephony equipment is located, and the transport cable is communicatively coupled to the remote coupling cable.

Conversational call quality evaluator
09876901 · 2018-01-23 · ·

Aspects of the disclosure simulate a conversation over a real-time communication system and a reference script shared between the communication devices serves as a basis for comparison against the received speech-recognized conversation. A method of evaluating call quality of a real-time communication system that includes at least two communication devices is disclosed that includes receiving a reference script, the reference script containing linguistic contents of an audio signal being sent to one of the communication devices; generating an evaluation transcript by applying speech recognition to the audio signal being received; comparing the reference script with the evaluation transcript; and generating a call quality metric of the real-time communication system based on the comparison. The call quality metric may also include a communication delay which may be evaluated by determining a duration of a speaking turn; determining a duration of a listening turn from the audio signal being received by one of the communication devices; and estimating a communication delay of the audio signal based on the duration of the speaking turn and the listening turn.

Auto-dialer detector for inter-carrier network switch

To maximize efficiencies and to reduce termination costs of inter-carrier exchanges, an auto-dialer detection system enables an inter-carrier network switch to detect, in real-time or in near real-time, calls that are originated by auto-dialers. A call router of the switch may receive an incoming call attempt that includes a particular Automatic Number Identification (ANI). The auto-dialer detection system allows for a real-time or near-real time determination, based on the ANI and contents of a cache during a sliding window of time coincident with the reception of the origination, whether or not the call should be routed through the switch. Further, the auto-dialer detection system provides a real-time or a near real-time update to the cache contents to enable further real-time or near-real time detection and blocking of auto-dialed calls. Overrides to the cache (e.g., to always allow and/or to always block calls that include certain ANIs) may be provided.

Automated determination of power transmission resistance

A system for optimizing the transmission of power through multiple conductors from a remote power source to a local communications device including: (a) a controller for the power source and for incrementally increasing the output voltage during a transmission resistance detection protocol; (b) a first voltage detection circuit for detecting a predetermined minimum voltage received by the detection circuit and for placing a load across the conductors when that minimum voltage is received; (c) a second voltage detection circuit for detecting a predetermined maximum voltage received by that detection circuit and for removing the load from across the conductors at that time; (d) voltage and current measuring devices to measure the transmission current and the output voltage of the power source when the predetermined maximum voltage is received; and (e) memory for storing the measured voltage, measured current and the predetermined maximum voltage for use by the controller.

Telephone number monitoring

A system for monitoring phone numbers includes a computing device having at least one processor and memory associated with the processor. A telephone network supports a plurality of telephone numbers. The computing device is configured to obtain data directly from the telephone network. The data indicates call activity involving the phone numbers, respectively, during a time period having a preselected duration. The computing device determines, for each of the phone numbers, whether the data indicates that there were no successfully answered calls placed to the phone number during the time period. For any such phone number, the computing device places a test call to the phone number. In the event that the test call is not successful, the computing device provides an indication of a problem with the phone number.
