TELEPHONE NETWORK SYSTEM AND METHOD
20180084101 · 2018-03-22 ·

Systems for and methods of delivering telephone calls using the combination of a data channel and a voice channel are disclosed. A data channel connection with the telephone handset may provide pre-call information used to set up incoming and outgoing calls which are ultimately connected using a voice channel. Use of the pre-call information may permit the same handset to be associated with multiple secondary telephone numbers from which calls appear to have been made and to which calls appear to have been placed.

Virtual telephone extension

The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for routing communications. A plurality of communication devices are coupled, via a shared common (interface) communication device, to a communications network. Each such communication device has a device identifier. A user-programmable database associates each of a plurality of user identifiers with a device identifier. A call-routing switch arrangement is coupled to the communication network through a portal communication device having a portal identifier. A user designates a destination user identifier when making a communication. The call-routing switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number. Users remotely program the database to direct their calls accordingly.

Electronic device and bidirectional communication control method thereof

An electronic device and bidirectional communication control method thereof for supporting communication between electronic devices. The electronic device of the present disclosure includes a communication unit configured to communicate with other electronic devices; a storage unit configured to store service type and operation mode information per communication service; and a control unit configured to check information on the communication service, determine a service type corresponding to the communication service information, and control a call forwarding function to enable/disable call forwarding to a companion electronic device in an operation mode corresponding to the determined service type.

Voice Service Registration Method and Digital Terminal
20180032711 · 2018-02-01 ·

A voice service registration method and a digital terminal, relate to the communications field and applied to a voice service registration process, where the method and the terminal are used to resolve a problem that a voice service cannot be recovered in time after an upper-layer network of a digital terminal is recovered from a fault. A specific solution includes that after a digital terminal re-registers a voice service for the n.sup.th time, detecting, by the digital terminal, that a user performs a first operation on a voice terminal connected to the digital terminal, where n is an integer greater than or equal to 1, and triggering, by the digital terminal, a voice service registration process when detecting that registration of the voice service fails.

AUDIBLE ALERTS FOR CO-LOCATED DEVICES

A user may have multiple devices that are associate with a single user address such as an email address, a telephone number, a user name, a user ID, etc. When a communication is addressed to the single user address, a location of each of the devices is determined, and any devices that are co-located within a common geographic area are identified. For those devices within the common geographic area, one of the devices is selected and instructed to play an audible alert. The other devices within the common geographic area are not instructed or are specifically instructed not to play the audible alert. All of the user's multiple devices may present a visual alert.

CLOUD-BASED DEVICE TWINNING
20170303104 · 2017-10-19 ·

A network-based service is utilized to facilitate twinning of two or more communication devices associated with a subscriber account. Incoming communication is intercepted by a communication device and forwarded to a network server, which in turn transmits the incoming communication to the multiple twinned devices. In addition, identifier data associated with outgoing communication is replaced with a primary identifier (e.g., customer telephone number (CTN)) of a user's primary device or a common identifier (e.g., a mobile one number (MON)) assigned to devices associated with the user's subscriber account. Communication devices can be temporarily twinned for a defined time period, during which a common bill can be generated for the twinned devices.

Method and system for accessing network through public device
09686256 · 2017-06-20 · ·

A method and system for accessing a network over a public device are provided in the present invention. The method includes: a user inputting an Access Identifier (AID) and authentication information over the public device, and initiating a network access request; after receiving the network access request, an Access Service Node (ASN) transmitting the received network access request to an Authentication Center (AC) to authenticate validity of the User's AID information, and forwarding a network access response returned by the AC to the public device; and after the public device receives the network access response, if the User's AID information is authenticated by the AC to be valid, the public device using the User's AID as a virtual AID, and using the virtual AID to transmit/receive messages of the user.
