COMMUNICATION LOGGING SYSTEM
A communication logging system facilitates communications between two or more users. A secured database stores communications from each user, and the system notifies the intended recipients of the communications. The system records times of creation of the communications, times of access to the communications, and who created and/or accessed the communications. The communications may not be altered or deleted once recorded, so there is a permanent source of reliable evidence as to the content of the communications and information associated therewith.
Rich media interactive voice response
The systems and methods are directed towards embodiments for implementing an interactive voice response (IVR) system with the voicemail system. The combination of the two systems would allow the recipient to listen to a recorded voicemail message and receive associated IVR commands that can be provided by the sender. The IVR commands allow the sender to generate customized IVR commands that provides different types of rich media based information (e.g., hyperlinks, video files, audio files) based on the sender input. Other systems and methods are also directed towards embedding active content (i.e. rich media based content) into documents.

A telecommunication and multimedia management apparatus and method that supports voice and other media communications and that enables users to: (i) participate in multiple conversation modes, including live phone calls, conference calls, instant voice messaging or tactical communications; (ii) review the messages of conversations in either a live mode or a time-shifted mode and to seamlessly transition back and forth between the two modes; (iii) participate in multiple conversations either concurrently or simultaneously; (iv) archive the messages of conversations for later review or processing; and (v) persistently store media either created or received on the communication devices of users. The latter feature enables users to generate or review media when either disconnected from the network or network conditions are poor and to optimize the delivery of media over the network based on network conditions and the intention of the users participating in conversations.

Methods and systems for providing contextual information
Methods for providing contextual information about communication devices and/or services. Profile information indicating a user's communication devices and/or services is stored. When profile information or a message log is displayed, the user may identify a communication device and/or service. A query inquires whether the user would like contextual information. The contextual information may be obtained from a gateway in a data network or a telecommunications manager in a telecommunication network. The contextual information is displayed. Profile information about a user's communicating partner may be stored. When the user makes an effort to communicate with the partner, a check may be made of the partner's profile information for a preferred communication device and/or service. If the user does not have a communication device and/or service corresponding to that of the communicating partner, a query may inquire whether the user would like contextual information. If so, the contextual information is presented.
Capturing messages from a phone message exchange with matter association
A method for text capture with matter association is provided. The method includes, responsive to a user entering one or more telephone numbers of one or more mobile text-enabled devices of other users to engage in a message exchange therebetween, receiving an additional phone number for message capture that uses a Short Message Service (SMS) Application Programming Interface (API) synchronized with a remote message capture device. The method further includes receiving a matter number dynamically specified for the message exchange. The method also includes capturing, by the remote message capture device using the SMS API, message content and metadata for messages of the message exchange. The method additionally includes storing the message content and the metadata associated with the matter number in a searchable remote message repository.
Message management system
Systems and methods provide a resident of a controlled-environment facility with a visitation service that include messaging capabilities, where the message are managed on behalf of the resident based on the visitation sessions in which the resident participates. In one scenario, the resident issues an initial visitation request for a visitation session with a particular non-resident. In response to the non-resident not accepting this initial visitation request, the resident is allowed to record and store a message, such as a voice message or video message, for retrieval and playback by the non-resident. At a later time, the resident issues a second visitation request for a visitation session with the same non-resident. The non-resident accepts the second request and the requested visitation session between the non-resident and the resident is conducted. In response to the visitation session being conducted, the stored message may be marked for deletion.
Management of resident to resident mail between controlled-environment facilities
In a controlled-environment facility resident-to-resident communication management system a controlled-environment facility electronic digital mail center, and/or the like, receives and creates a digital version of an original mail item received at a controlled-environment facility, and a controlled-environment facility mail database, and/or the like, that stores digital versions of original mail items received at the controlled-environment facility. A centralized controlled-environment facility investigative data aggregation and analysis platform, and/or the like, identifies a sender and/or sending address of the original mail item from the digital version of the original mail item, queries a database using identification of the sender and/or the sending address, determines whether the sender is a resident of another controlled-environment facility, and in response to a determination that the sender is a resident of another controlled-environment facility, flags the digital version of the original mail item as a controlled-environment facility resident-to-resident communication.

A wireless device having an action mode that automatically repeats, at a fixed temporal interval, a sending action of sending a voice and a receiving action of receiving the voice includes a voice recorder configured to record the voice therein when the voice is input from a microphone during execution of the action mode, a sending controller configured to send the voice input in the sending action during the execution of the action mode, and a recording controller configured to control recording in the voice recorder, wherein the sending controller is further configured to send the voice recorded in the voice recorder when the voice is not input from the microphone in the sending action.
