Method and system for controlling audio signals in multiple concurrent conference calls
09736312 · 2017-08-15 · ·

A method and apparatus for controlling audio signals associated with a plurality of conferences. A user interface is displayed that depicts a first defined area and a second defined area. The first defined area is associated with a first conference and the second defined area is associated with a second conference. A first plurality of participant identifiers is displayed in association with the first defined area, and each of the plurality of participant identifiers corresponds to a different participant of a plurality of participants in the first conference. Aural position identifiers are determined for each participant associated with the first conference, and an aural position identifier is selected for the second conference. Audio signals are provided at aural positions identified by the aural position identifiers, enabling the user to correlate the voices of different participants with corresponding locations on the user interface, and to listen to multiple conferences simultaneously.

System and method for multi-party communication
09774639 · 2017-09-26 · ·

A system and method provides for multi-party communication including engaging a network communication engine from a mobile communication interface and providing a user identification and a location indicator to the network communication engine. The method and system further includes receiving in the mobile communication interface a plurality of communication channels based on at least one of: the user identification and the location indicator and in response to a user selection of a selected communication channel, transmitting a channel engagement request to the network communication engine requesting connection of the user to the selected communication channel. The method and system further includes engaging in muted bi-directional communication with a plurality of additional users across the selected communication channel, wherein muted bi-directional communication includes user engagement of an open channel engagement command for communication input across the channel and the input transmitted across the channel only during the open channel engagement command.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FACILITATING SIDE-CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS DURING SHARED COMMUNICATION SESSION

Systems and methods for providing side-channel communications to supplement a shared communication channel are provided. Participant devices within a side-channel communication group are configured to receive a first audio stream associated with the shared communication channel and a second audio stream associated with the side-channel communication group. A host platform or a participant device may mix the first and second audio streams to produce a composite output audio stream that enables users to listen to both audio shared to shared communication channel and audio generated by other members of the side-channel communication group.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING CALLS

A computer-implemented method for managing calls in a collaboration environment is provided. The method includes receiving, by a processor, a call into a collaboration session of the collaboration environment. The method also includes identifying, by the processor, a user from a plurality of users associated with the collaboration session, based on at least one of contextual information regarding the call and information regarding the plurality of users. The method further includes providing, by the processor, an interface on a device associated with the identified user, wherein the interface enables the identified user to instruct the device to handle the call within the collaboration session.

Enhanced techniques for joining communication sessions

The present disclosure provides a number of techniques for enhancing a user's experience when joining teleconference sessions. When multiple users join a teleconference session using separate devices, a system identifies devices that are co-located. The co-located devices are identified by the use of a combination of data including, but not limited to social signals, audio signal and other location data. At least one device of the co-located devices, has a first control set for controlling a teleconference session and other devices of the co-located devices have a second control set for sharing content. The at least one device also has one set of streams and the other devices see a subset of those streams or other streams based on an activity level. In addition, the present disclosure provides a number of techniques for enabling users to use multiple devices to share content.

Facilitation of two or more video conferences concurrently

In one aspect, a first device includes a processor, a microphone accessible to the processor, a speaker accessible to the processor, a display accessible to the processor, and storage accessible to the processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the processor to facilitate concurrent video conferencing for first and second video conferences and to receive user input selecting the first video conference. Based on the user input, the instructions may be executable to control the speaker to output audio for the first video conference at a greater volume level than audio for the second video conference and to transmit input from the microphone to a second device associated with a participant of the first video conference but not to a third device associated with a participant of the second video conference.

DYNAMIC VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

Techniques for conducting a virtual event are described. One example method includes displaying, on a display screen of a computing device, a plurality of icons, each icon representing a different virtual event participant, wherein the plurality of icons includes a first icon representing a virtual event participant associated with the computing device; receiving, from an input device of the computing device, input representing a direction of movement for the first icon; and in response to receiving the input, moving the first icon on the display screen in the direction represented by the input.

TELECONFERENCE SYSTEM AND TERMINAL APPARATUS

A teleconference system includes an audio data receiving section, a group information holding section, and an audio controller. The audio data receiving section receives audio data obtained by multiple terminal apparatuses of multiple users who participate in a conference. The group information holding section holds group information indicating multiple groups. The groups are obtained by grouping the users of the terminal apparatuses. Any of the terminal apparatuses is referred to as a certain terminal apparatus. Each of the groups includes one or more users. The audio controller controls volumes of sound output of the audio data independently for the respective groups based on the group information held by the group information holding section. The audio data is received by the audio data receiving section.
