DYNAMIC PCRF/PCF SELECTION
A solution for initiating a network session (e.g., a voice call) for a user equipment (UE) on a network includes: receiving a session initiation message at a first network node; appending, to the session initiation message, an identification of a policy node; passing the appended session initiation message to a session management node; selecting, by the session management node, the identified policy node; and based at least upon selecting the identified policy node, initiating the network session for the UE. This improves call setup reliability by reducing the risk that an error in the subscriber information at the session management node (e.g., proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF)) indicates the incorrect policy node (e.g., policy and charging rule function (PCRF) or policy charging function (PCF)). In some examples, the session initiation message may comprise a session initiation protocol (SIP) message.
Radio Communication Method and System
Disclosed are a radio communication method and system. The system comprises at least one radio end, at least one transfer system and at least one external communication end, wherein the radio end is connected to the transfer system via a radio signal, the transfer system compares a radio dialling number in the radio signal with registration data stored by the transfer system, and the transfer system transfers the radio signal to a corresponding external communication end according to a comparison result. By means of a connection between a radio gateway in the transfer apparatus and the server, a remote radio end can communicate with a specific external communication end without the limitation of territory or distance.
APPARATUS, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD, FOR FACILITATING RADIO CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION WITH AN ICS-CAPABLE WIRELESS DEVICE
An apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating communication operations with a wireless device that is ICS or DTM capable. Signaling protocols and apparatus are provided for operation of the wireless device when an ICS with the wireless device is ongoing, and the device leaves an area that provides for ICS as well as when the ICS can be provided using circuit-switched connections.
ELECTRONIC BRIDGE BETWEEN MOBILE-TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICE AND PUBLIC-SWITCHED-TELEPHONE-NETWORK (PSTN) OR VOICE-OVER-INTERNET-PROTOCOL (VOIP) DEVICE
In an embodiment, a bridge circuit is configured for connecting a desk phone (e.g., a VoIP phone) to a mobile device (e.g., a smart phone), while allowing the existing desk-phone VoIP/PSTN system (e.g., a PBX system) to be eliminated with significant savings in reduced telecommunication-infrastructure costs. The bridge circuit can be powered through traditional wall power, and can include a CAT 5 cable port with Power Over Ethernet (PoE), a PSTN port such as an RJ11 port, a set of electronics that provide wireless connectivity to the mobile device, a control circuit, and a set of software instructions for programming the desk phone to communicate with the bridge circuit and for providing other features such as conference calling, putting a call on hold, and transferring contact information from the mobile device to the desk phone or vice-versa.
Apparatus, and associated method, for facilitating radio control system operation with an ICS-capable wireless device
An apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating communication operations with a wireless device that is ICS or DTM capable. A message generator is provided, configured to generate a network-terminated message, the network-terminated message including a media feature tag that identifies support of ICS. When transmitted to a network node, the message is detected. And, a wireless-device-terminated message that provides for mapping of a SIP URI into a calling name presentation.
CTI system and CTI control method
In a CTI system, when a wireless terminal is called in response to a transmission request from a personal computer, a key telephone main unit adds to a call signal identification information indicating that a call is based on the transmission request from the personal computer. When the call is received, the wireless terminal judges whether or not the identification information is added to the call signal. When it is judged that the identification information is added, the wireless terminal automatically answers the call. Otherwise, the wireless terminal does not automatically answer. Thus, in case of transmission from a CTI application, operability and convenience are improved.
System, method, and apparatus for using alternative numbers for routing voice calls and short messages in a communications network
A system, method and computer-readable medium for allowing the use of an alternative numbering plan for delivering short messages to mobile subscribers using the public mobile telephone network is provided. Users of an enterprise or other closed networks as well as users that are not part of a closed network may send short messages destined to members of an enterprise or closed network from their mobile or other devices associated with their subscription using an alternative enterprise directory number, such as the office number, instead of the mobile number, such that the alternative number will be presented at the destination device as the originating number. The recipient may respond to the message by addressing the response to the enterprise or closed network number, and the response may be delivered to the originator's mobile or other device associated with their subscription.
Client Application Enabling Multiple Line Call Termination and Origination
In some implementations, a computing device may determine a location of the computing device. The computing device may have an associated first phone number. The computing device may determine that the location of the computing device is outside a geographic area in which a carrier associated with the first phone number provides service. The computing device may send a registration request to a local network indicating that the computing device is operating in an over the top mode. The computing device may originate an outgoing call from the computing device. The outgoing call appears to a called party to originate from a second phone number that is different from the first phone number.
SUPPORT CAPABILITY IN COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS FOR CS/PS COORDINATION
There is provided a method for providing support capability of a core network (CN) node. The method is performed by the CN node. The method comprises setting up a connection to a radio access network (RAN) node. The method comprises, in response thereto, providing an indication regarding whether the CN node supports at least one of operator coordinated area (OCA) and query to the RAN node, according to which indication the CN node provides information to be used by the RAN node for selecting a serving operator such that the same operator is selected for the wireless device in both Circuit Switched (CS) domain and in Packet Switch (PS) domain.
