IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus including: a hard disk configured to store data; a hard disk malfunction detecting unit configured to detect malfunction of the hard disk; a partition confirmation unit configured to determine as to whether a malfunctioning portion of the hard disk is in a preliminary determined partition; and a partition formatting unit configured to format the partition, wherein, when the malfunctioning portion of the hard disk detected by the hard disk malfunction detecting unit is determined as being in the partition preliminary determined by the partition confirmation unit, the partition formatting unit formats the partition.
PRINTER SCRIPT AUTOCORRECT
A method of processing printer scripts is disclosed. A processor receives the printer script. For each original line of the printer script the process analyzes the line of script to find errors. If no error is found in the script, the script is transferred to a print engine for printing. If at least one error is found in any line of printer script: the script is modified to correct the printer script error and produce a modified line of printer script. A comparison of the original line of printer script with the modified line of printer script is generated and printed, displayed or saved to a storage device.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus includes a first detection unit that detects occurrence of a maintenance event, a receiving unit that receives a display instruction of a maintenance method corresponding to the maintenance event from a user, a display control unit that displays a first maintenance screen including an image illustrating the maintenance method and an instruction of opening a cover and exposing a portion where the maintenance event occurred and displays a second maintenance screen including an image illustrating the maintenance method and an instruction of opening the cover when occurrence of the maintenance event is not detected.
Image reading apparatus and image reading method for performing background removal processing on image data
An image reading apparatus includes an image data obtaining unit, a foreign material position information obtaining unit, and a separation processor. The image data obtaining unit obtains image data read from a document passing over a read area. The foreign material position information obtaining unit obtains foreign material position information read from the read area in which the document is not present. The separation processor separates the image data into plural objects including a background object, detects, by using the foreign material position information, a streak image portion caused by foreign material in the read area and included in the image data, and assumes a pixel of the streak image portion to belong to the background object if the pixel is present in the background object and has a pixel value equal to or smaller than a threshold determined in accordance with a representative value of the background.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING METHOD
An image reading apparatus reads an original image of an original, which is conveyed along a conveyance path, using a scanner unit and a CCD sensor unit. A separation sensor, a lead sensor, and a sheet discharge sensor, which are provided to the conveyance path, detect occurrence of a jam. A restarting method for reading processing of the original after the occurrence of the jam includes a first restarting method of re-placing all of the originals, which have been fed, on an original tray and a second restarting method of re-placing only an unread original on the original tray, and is set by a user. In a case where the second restarting method is set, the restarting method is determined from any one of the first restarting method and the second restarting method based on a discharged length of the original having been discharged to a sheet discharge tray.
Scanning device with overhead reflecting mirror
A scanning device comprises a light source, a reflecting mirror and a photosensor. The light source provides light to an original. A first portion of the light penetrates through a hole of the original and becomes penetrating light. A second portion of the light is reflected by a hole-free portion of the original and becomes second reflected light. The reflecting mirror reflects the penetrating light and generates first reflected light. The photosensor receives the first reflected light and the second reflected light and generates a hole-containing image signal representative of an image of the original.
Abnormality management system of image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus is communicable with a management apparatus and includes an abnormality detecting portion, a registered information obtaining portion, a registered-restoration processing portion, a specification receiving portion, a specified-restoration processing portion, and a registration requesting portion. The registered-restoration processing portion executes a registered restoration process in accordance with registered restoration procedure information obtained from the management apparatus. The specification receiving portion receives a specification input when the registered restoration procedure information was not obtained, or when an apparatus abnormality was not solved. The specified-restoration processing portion executes a specified restoration process in accordance with the specification input. The registration requesting portion requests the management apparatus to register information of the apparatus abnormality solved by the specified restoration process and of a specified restoration procedure.
REMOTE SUPPORT APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, REMOTE SUPPORT METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus including a plurality of processing units capable of performing different support processing for a user asking for support, and a remote support apparatus operated by an operator are connected via a communication path. The remote support apparatus transmits to the image forming apparatus a request to perform the support using the selected processing unit, or a request to switch the processing unit to a selected specific processing unit and a request to perform the support. The image forming apparatus allows the processing unit which follows the request to perform the support, to perform the support, and switches the processing unit according to the request to switch the processing unit to allow the switched processing unit to perform the support. Further, the image forming apparatus returns a result which should be returned, among results of the performed support, to the remote support apparatus.
Image forming apparatus, image forming method, and non-transitory computer readable medium
An image forming apparatus includes a forming unit, a detecting unit, and a creating unit. The forming unit forms a first image and at least one of second and third images on a recording medium. The first image is used to create correction data for gradation correction. The second image is used to detect a streak in a cross direction which is produced in the first image. The cross direction intersects a conveying direction in which the recording medium is conveyed. The third image is used to detect the streak in the conveying direction which is produced in the first image. The detecting unit detects the streak by using at least one of the second and third images. When the detecting unit detects the streak, the creating unit creates the correction data on the basis of a portion other than a region corresponding to the streak in the first image.
